Tall and want to lose weight? Looking for some friends....
Hey I'm beth and I'm 16, 5"9 and 154 lbs. I'm not overweight, but I'm looking to be more in shape as well as improve my eating habits. I started out on calorie count a while ago, then left to just writing in a food journal. I abandoned it when I went to summer camp for two months, something that destroyed my diet. It was the best summer of my life... plus six pounds.
I'm looking for some young calorie counters around my age who would like to be buds? So that we can keep each other motivated, especially with the stress of school starting and all. I don't think I'll make much progress going into this alone, plus it's always fun to have someone to talk to who can relate. Losing weight the first time around was easier with someone else. We discussed workouts, good meal/snack options etc. and made dieting feel like less of a chore and more of a goal to accomplish.
If you're interested, you can post on this topic or just send me a message :)

Me! I'm a little bit older (22) but very similar (5'10" and 152 lbs). I know exactly what you mean.. I just want to slim down my thighs and tone them up so my old jeans fit again! I did very well with CC about a year ago and abandoned it once I got to my goal. Shame on me.
My job in college required me to be very active, so I could pretty much eat whatever and not worry too much. But now I have a "big girl" job where I just sit at my desk for 8 hours a day. If I don't work out, I gain weight, even if I think I'm eating healthy (which I'm probably not really). Since July, I stopped my usual workouts of 3x a week and gained 5 pounds! Needless to say, I hit the treadmill and CC yesterday.
I know I need to work on eating less carbs and more protein and fiber. I think this will help me out a lot. Let's do this.
hmmm exactly. This is really like my first day back, and I really want my drive to keep me going longer if not forever this time around. I don't mind having bigger thighs, but I definitely need to tone them up and get rid of the fat and *gasp* cellulite at my age. I play competitive volleyball so I know there's lots of muscle under there ;). I honestly haven't worn my jeans all summer, and I am terrified of what I'll find when fall comes crashing down.
The school year for me is very active as I'm on teams and committees. One goal I do want to achieve is to start running. I don't have the time or a gym nearby so I want to keep my workouts as equipment free as possible... though to have a treadmill would be nice :)
I love love love fiber, it's something I want a lot more of in my diet. I'd also like to eat less if any red meat and stick to fish and chicken.
hei..I'm Alexis..I'm the same age as you, counting the months..I'm 5'5 and currently at 60kg..Now, that isn't overweight i know but when you looks like you're 4 months pregnant, that ain't good..Anyway, in just 8 months , I gained 8-9 kg, at the beginning of the year , I was 51 to 52 and I sort of let go..sigh..
I started doing exercise again..threamill-ling..haha..so, lets support each other..I tried to eat meat but I got it from McDonald, only cheeseburger or beef burger, both according to the nutritional info is slightly over 300 and the later at 260..maybe i'll try the fish kind without mayo on next time..
Well, guess i talk to much.. GAMBATEH!!!!TO ALL OF US!!!
I need to stop eating so much red meat. For 4 years I didn't eat any.. then one day, the smell of a chargrilled cheeseburger got the best of me, and it was all downhill from there. I love burgers!! I have to learn to control myself.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
