Not a thing you can do, babe. It's all genetics.
...or you could get these.
They are patent, so no animals were harmed in the making of them. ;-)
I don't know about actually growing taller, but... my mom is 5'2 and for a few years she was doing yoga several times a week. All of a sudden she was 5'4. It was probably just from improving her posture but 2 inches is 2 inches, right?!

FYI, she went back down to 5'2 when she stopped doing yoga.
I gained an inch when I was taking a modern dance class in college.  It was all the stretching, it lengthens the spine.  When i stopped taking the class, I lost the inch.

If you are still growing, just make sure you get proper nutrition and a proper amount of calories.  Sure, genetics plays a major part in how tall you will be, but good nutrition can help you reach your full potential.  There is no need to eat massive amounts of protein, just make sure you get enough.  As a vegan, if you eat plenty of whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, you'll get all the amino acids that you need for your body to make protein.
And calcium for your bones- make sure you're getting enough.

Otherwise, probably not a lot you can do unfortunately- the main thing is genetics.

I actually gained about half an inch in height in my late twenties after I started practicing yoga- I am 5'9" (and a half now!) so probably didn't need it though. In my case it was because I have mild scoliosis and the yoga helped to balance the musculature around my spine, straightening the curve a bit, and I got taller in the process.

Good luck with growing, try not to be too upset if you don't get any taller though. We alll have to work with what we're given...

swimming worked me when i was growing up. I did a lot of swimming one summer... and boom... i was 3 inches taller by the end of summer. this was when i was 13 or 14 years of age...
PURELY genetics!
Just make sure you're getting enough protein and calcium. And avoid caffeine. I dont think its proven to stunt growth, but its better safe than sorry, eh?
Nothing you can do to grow taller- merely things that you can do to obstruct your growth. Sorry; I wish I could be taller as well.
hmmm....I'm 5'2" and stopped growing at 12 or maybe 13.  Can people really get taller midway through high school?
Your height is a combination of 2 things, genetics and health.  You can't do anything about the first one, but the second one you can.  Eat healthy, nutritious foods and it will be good to your body.  Also exercise is good for your body and strengthens your bones and can encourage growth (sometimes).

As you get older the rate in which you grow will slow and by 25 the cartilage disks that bone grows from to lengthen them is completely gone and you can't really grow taller.  So be good to your body now.
You're still growing, I don't think you should worry yet.

I'm 4'8" and 19. I'm never going to be near 5' (oh I wish!), but my friend who was smaller than me and my age did get a series of growth hormone injections that gave her a few inches and now we're the same size. You can try that if you're really desperate, but you have to take a series of tests to make sure you've stopped growing and whatnot before they'll give you the injections.

Anyway, you should love yourself, even if you think you're flawed. 5th graders are taller than me and it really hurts sometimes, but I've accepted it and recently I started appreciating and really loving the small woman that I am! XD
I agree with others that eating enough calories/getting proper nutrition will help you reach your tallest possible height.  I can offer a little "anecdotal evidence" (this is by no means a scientific observation):

I am 5'7", while my sister is maybe 5'2".  When my sister was a baby, the doctor said she would be short, but he couldn't predict exactly how short she would be.  I was supposed to be as tall as my mom (5'5").  But when we were kids, I ate everything in sight, while getting my sister to eat anything was a huge production.  Mom kept only healthy food in the house, so it wasn't junk, either.

So I wouldn't be surprised if she's a little shorter than she could have been, and I'm a little taller than I might have been, just because of our eating habits.

Also, my grandmother is the youngest girl in her (large) family, and she is much shorter than her sisters.  She was born in the early thirties, and again I wouldn't be surprised if growing up during the Depression and not having as much affected her height as well.

Now, like I said, this is just two stories, and it could have been genetics in both cases.  But you need to eat the right amount of food and get proper nutrition anyway, so it can't hurt and might help you get taller too.
how much nutrition is enough for me? i really have no idea how much i should really eat
purely genetics my but! my husband had to see a doctor because he stopped growing because he wouldn't eat. he refused to eat and as result stopped growing!

Make sure you are eating well, balance all your meals and get all of your vitamins.

hiii there...im 15 too nd im short too. i desperately want to grow nd i found out that being active really does help you grow such as swimming. my mother also tld me that gettting vitamins is also very goo. Genetics does not affect your height because my parents are average but my sister who is younger than me is already taller then them.

Genetics doesn't necessarily mean that if your parents are tall, you will be tall or if your parents are short, you will be short. There are recessive jeans, and all other sorts of things that come into play.

For example: My mother is 5'4". Her mother is 5'1". I(somehow) am 5'9", and both my brothers are 6'4" or 6'5". My father is average height (a bit over 6'), so nothing really special there, yet all of us are tall. It's funny, because my dad's mom is very tall(she's shrunken now, but was 5'10", and her mother was even taller - over 6') and on my mother's side, her great uncle was well over 7ft and at one point the world's tallest man! So you have to take other relatives into account.

And the other posters are right about yoga and posture too. I'm 18, and when I started eating again and going to physical therapy and strength training I gained almost another inch! And don't be upset about your height, I sometimes wish I was short, you can wear all the heels you want! My boyfriend is a smidge shorter than I am. We've been together over a year, and I've never worn heels around him because he hates it :(

You can't lengthen your spine. You can straighten it through improving posture, but the size of the vertebrae and the muscles they are attached to is fixed.

Heels are your best bet. You will make all the taller girls jealous! I am 5'8" and my boyfriend is exactly the same height as me. Although he doesn't mind when I wear heels, it makes me feel weird, so I usually wear flats on our dates.

I probably grew an inch to two after I graduated high school and went to university. So don't think too much about it, eat lots of things, enjoy your teens and then before you know it, you will have grown much taller :)
