Tattoo and exercise
I recently got a tattoo on my lower back about a week n a half ago and was wondering if anyone knows when I can go back to exercising. Before getting the tatto I was in the gym at least 3 days a week and i have been MIA for about 3 weeks now. My body is showing signs that it needs to be worked on again and I liked how i felt when i was working out. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i would contact the tatoo parlor and ask them. im sure they'd know.
If you still have healing to do on your tattoo, I would wait. You could tear any scabs which would lead to light spots on the tattoo.
I went and the guy said it was healed but I should wait a few more day to wear my clothes on top of it so do you think I should wait to work out.
If you can't put clothes on it, it probably can't take being stretched and pulled yet. It sounds too fragile. I wouldn't do it. But it's up to you. They can always re-ink it. =]
No thank you lol. Yeah I figure I would just wait until May but eat right until then and I should be just fine.
Tattoo healing and exercise timeline:
First week or so, nothing. No exercise. Reason is that you are waiting for the skin to scab over. Exercise = sweat = soaked into your tattoo = not good.
Once you have scabs all over, you are pretty safe to do some light activity. Things such as an elliptical or a stationary bike. Nothing that involves major flexing or movement that would potentially break a scab.
Once you are totally healed, then you are set. It typically takes 48 days for a new layer of skin to be fully grown over. But I believe 3-4 weeks and you should be safe for full exercise.
But you did the best thing...ask the artist. They are the ones who will be touching it up if need be, so follow whatever their advice is.
What did you get??

Rose vines with a butterfly and my childrens names on it. Its hard to explain I can show you if you like.
I think you can go back now. I got a tattoo on my lower back during track season and I had NO recovery time, and everything was fine. If it's scabbed, I suggest not doing anything laying down where it can rub on the floor or bench, but I definitely think cardio and other weights are fine to do. I love tattoos!!!
Monday it will be 2 weeks so I was thinking to go back and do the exercise classes but if I can't then I will wait until may because then it will be a month.
