tattoos?
is anyone else feeling impatient about getting tattoos that they want but are waiting to lose weight first? i've only gotten 4 so far, but they are on my feet and behind my ears. i have all of mine drawn up and ready to go, but i don't want to start a huge back piece and then lose the 70 pounds i'm aiming for and have the skin shrink and look all weird. it's so frustrating, especially when your best friend is a tattoo artist who doesn't charge you haha. i want so many awesome things but i can't because of stretch marks which will make it hurt a lot more (scar tissue) and just because i know that i will lose this weight and once i have the body i want, my tattoos will look better.
In a year, when, according to this website, I will be at my target weight, I am planning to travel to my best friend's city and get a tattoo. I got one last year but it's up high on my back so I don't think weight loss will affect it.
But this upcoming tattoo will be a celebration gift!
I have 2 tatoos, and I intend to celebrate with another one too, when I rech 55 kgs - that would be around 108 pounds
its so frustrating to me because i have so many i want to get but they are like full back or stomach or thighs and i dont want them distorted after weight oss. ughh
I swear I am not making this up! I worked in a pub recently, and occasionally a very morbidly obese gentleman would come in for a few drinks and a meal. I couldn't estimate exactly how big he was prehaps 500lbs, but he was as big as you could be and still be mobile - he could barely walk. Anyway - he had the word SALAD tatooed in enormous letters down the inside of both arms.....
I plan on rewarding myself every step of the way with tattoos after hitting milestones. My first reward(an angel on one shoulder blade and a devil on the other both done as pin up girls) is going to be when I get down under 200 lbs. I know it's not small but for me it's a 25 lb loss and my shoulder blades shouldn't change too much so I figure it's worth it to keep me going!
I seriously can't wait to be 140 lbs and get all the ink in the places I want (hips, thigh, side...)! I just know it will look better then and there won't be as much pain from stretch marks and the skin won't get all weird from losing weight after getting them.
For the past 5 years or so I have wanted a tattoo that starts on my rib cage, curves around my side and down to my lower back. It is SO FRUSTRATING because I want it so badly but of course not until I am ready to show off that kind of skin. I feel like I have wasted so much time not being happy with my body. I cannot wait to get the weight off!!
Let me just say....
I am pretty heavily tattooed... on my legs.. thighs (both) and calf. I started getting tattooed when I was heavy. I have lost almost 70 lbs (just 2 friggin pounds short LOL) and... my tattoos are not really changing. If anything they are getting tighter looking. My artist has gained a lot of weight in the past 10 years or so. She has a full body suit and now hers are just a little stretched out but she assures me that if she lost weight, they would go back to looking tight.
I just thought I would share. :-) Mine arent getting freaky or stretched looking. :-)
I am waiting. At goal weight, my dear cousin owes me a $500 tatoo. Can't wait!!
I'm still working out a way to pay for my first. I better find some soon because the tattooist I want is coming over to England soon and she's pretty much booked up already. Argh, if I miss an opportunity to get some of her work done on me I'll regret it forever.
I've been waiting and waiting to finish my sleeve. I've got the top half of my arm (pretty much) covered and I want to (pretty much) cover the bottom half to the wrist. I have plenty and I'm not worried about pain, stretching or shrinking, it's just sooooooooooo expensive. and now that I've committed myself to losing weight I figure I should make it the ultimate goal celebration treat. I guess that means I should also start saving my cash.
i got mine a year ago before I started losing weight, but mine is on my upper back so i don't think my weight loss will make a difference. It is just below the neck, and between the shoulder blades.
