I'd have been fine if the guy I was having the fling with didn't fall in love with me.  It ruined everything, and now I'm in this terrible state.

well, if he knows what it is and that you have no intention of it going beyond a fling, then he's a big boy who knows what he is getting into...and you can continue without a problem.

Unfortunately I had to cut him off.  He argued exactly that, that he was a big boy and could handle it, but when he would have a couple of drinks, he'd start sending me these gooey text messages.  He insisted that he could keep it casual, but I know that it would have gotten ugly eventually.

bummer...

i can't seem to win! i sure know how to pick em...

the ones i actually like end up being weirdos with baggage. what's up with that?
