So, my grandpa who, at 90, was hit by an suv while riding his bike to the beach is doing much better.
He had a bunch of broken bones, but the preliminary x-rays showed his body was already regenerating. The accident also caused a mild stroke.
The bones have now mended, he is walking with the assistance of a walking thing, and he can speak again although he's still fairly garbled. The stroke did take his hearing, he's 95% deaf now, but at least he's all there and his body is quickly bouncing back as well.
And my friends wonder why when I do financial planning, I assume that I'll live beyond 100.
Hope he continues to get better...my family lives a long time too (great grandmother 103 and grandmother 96)

I am very sorry to hear about your grandfather but I am glad because it sounds like he is recovering... I hope he fully recovers quickly
Yeah, he was doing just fine before the accident, but he seems to be feeling more like himself.
He's already become known for pinching less than vigilant nurses and has confided in me that he's going to kill that son of a b***h (one of the male attendants) for some transgression I cannot recall.

Eh he'll be okay then. :D I think orneriness is what causes people to live to ripe old age.
sparky, I'd say he's more hornery than ornery...
At that age, the two terms could almost be used interchangeably. At least, with old men. Old ladies are more crotchety, usually.
