so wow, just talked to C on the phone. i didn't realize how badly her memory has been affected. she doesn't remember what her apartment looks like, but she does remember mine. she doesn't remember going on a trip in the spring, or when her and her scum bag babby daddy broke up. she doesn't remember getting in an accident with me and R.

she said they are keeping her over night again tonight. i'm starting to think they probably never said she could go home yesterday at all.

Jules... do they think she had a stroke?

megs, i fear i'm getting N confused with chef...is N back in town now?

they are still just saying she had a seizure. i'm wondering if all the pain meds she's on are slowing her memory or something.

 If they also have her on anti-convulsants, those affect the memory pretty dramatically.  Thing is, high blood pressure can cause stroke as well as seizures.  Have they done a CAT scan?

Can you mention to her doctor these memory problems?  The doc might not know the extent of this.  It sounds pretty profound.  :(

 Hee hee, N is a chef too.  :D  He goes to CIA (Culinary Institute of America).

well, i'm pretty sure they said they did a brain scan or something. i know the doctors know she's lost memory, but i'm not sure if they know the extent of it.

This sounds like the loss is extending to a month or more.  I think that's a pretty big deal, but I'm not a neurologist... still, I think it's worth a work-up...

I hope it's a temporary loss, and like you said, due at least in part to the meds.  How scary.

what worries me is that she doesn't remember breaking up with her ex, so is she going to forget why they broke up and what a scum bag he is.

 That is why she has good friends to remind her.  But I guess the emotional reaction loses its immediacy if she really doesn't recall what happened.  :(

 I guess it isn't surprising, given what a dirtball he is.  So has she even heard from him?  Was he planning to be involved in the baby's life?

he was denying that the baby was even his. and now i guess she'll  never be able to prove it to him. but i think he knows deep down that it was his.

i imagine that he's feeling pretty horrible at this point, and probably wouldn't know what to say if he did call or visit.  

yeah, i would definately mention the memory loss to the doctors, make sure they know the full extent.

hopefully it'll come back to her...

Man, I guess if I'd done what he did, I'd stay away too.  I would also be afraid that karma would soon hit me like a Mack truck.
