We still have some players finishing up on week 1 -- you have until Wed. 9/20 to get all of that to me and still get your points!
Also, if you wanna track your own points and then just email me your point totals, they've set up a player points sheet. Use whatever way works best for you. You can put it in your journal, you can email me, you can use the point sheet -- your choice!

Watergirl, I'm replying to your last post here. Yes, getting together would be fun! How often do you get out this way? I've been wanting to go to Galveston one weekend, but Joe is always studying. I'm sure Cole would love to sit at the edge of the water and play, but I'm afraid he might get sun burned.

OK. Week 2 Part 1: Name three things you do daily and 2 things you do weekly to reach your health, fitness and wellness goals?

Daily I try to:
- eat at least 35 grams of dietary fiber per day -- I just don't feel as well if I don't eat a lot of fruits and veggies
- get up from my desk at least every 15 to 30 minutes and walk around & stretch a little, maybe do a few deep breaths, look out the window to alleviate eye strain
- take a multi-vitamin, also take garlic, lecithin, fish oil, & folic acid supplements
- walk briskly for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 3 times a week (and working up to increasing it to 30 minutes, 14 times a week)
- spend some quiet time, about an hour, meditating or visualizing achieving my goals

- Do some form of exercise.
- Take a multi-vitamin. I actually don't do that, but I want to start this week. I took them while pregnant, and then just kind of stopped. I need to start again.
- Ab toning
- Arm toning
- Walking

looking at cecily's goals has sort of brought home something that BF and I have been talking about lately.
I just need to be more active - overall. Not necessarily just with exercise, but just daily activity. If we lived in the same town, I think he and I would get more.... activty ;) But I don't even mean that necessarily.
Anybody have any advice on ways to just be more active?

- I have started parking my car farther away from stores.
- I can't take the stairs because that'll stress my knee & ankle more than they can stand at present.
- But what are some other ways to be more active?

- Drink at least 3 litres of water.
- Consume over 100 grams of protein.
- Get some sort of walking in.
- Run about 2.5 to 3 miles
- Ab workouts.
- Weigh myself I time.
hanging out in galveston sounds good too...i am supposed to go down to the island the weekend of oct 7-8 for a family thing on the 8th, so will drive down sat and come back sun
maybe you could follow in your car, so you could drive yourself back whenever you please, and if that wont work out, we could meet at a restaurant, your pick, and at least meet and chat, and of course take a pic to post here on c-c

Yes, it's true. I consort with the enemy. I got together with nomo, athena_travener and longwalker this year. I've also gotten together with matisse,pamperedkeri, claire and.. longwalker more recently.
I've always parked far from stores, and it has nothing to do with exercise. It's because I drive a truck and sometimes it's hard for me to back out, especially in the straight-in parking spots. :P I prefer the angled ones. :) I'm better at parking/backing out now, but I'm just in the habit of parking far away. LOL!
Remember, house cleaning also burns calories. That's one way to get in more activity, but it's not really fun. :( Shopping at the mall must burn a lot of calories. Walking from store to store, throughout the store, and it's so much more fun than house cleaning!

Oh, I just looked at my calendar. Joe is off on that Saturday and Sunday, but he'll probably have to study some. I'll see if I can talk him into going to Galveston part of one day, probably Saturday? I think it's about 45 minutes or so from us, not far at all.
cool. we could just meet somewhere on the island then. i'll have to check with my brother, jeff, and see what his crazy schedule is that weekend. it would be cool if he and his cole, who is about 8 or 9 now, could meet with us too. jeff and joe could discuss firefighting school
what if I turn on some funky loud music and sort of do my strip routine while I clean house...

Watch out, HK might offer to come over and 'help' you clean the house! :) I do the loud music when I clean. Haven't tried stripping, though.... Let me know how that works out for you!

I almost forgot! We had a couple of people who wanted more info about the blue line and the green line on your weight log.
To put it simply, the blue line is your actual weight, with all it's water-weight fluctuations. The green line is a computed average and tries to show your projected body weight, so that water weight is averaged. In other words, the green line takes the bloat out of the equation. So it's the trend line (green) that's helpful to watch more than the blue. Water weight be damned, if the green line is going down then you're losing FAT instead of water, baby! (hopefully.... I mean, you could lose muscle, but pshfft, why would you do that?)

RECIPE CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need to divide up into pairs for this!
Each week, for the next four weeks, two of us have to post a recipe that matches the theme of that week.
I'm just going to assign it, but I can finagle the schedule if we get a conflict with RW schedules or whatnot.
This week the theme is Mediterranean -- (don't know what the next 3 weeks will be right now)
Week 2, due by 9/20 - Mediterranean -- cecilyb03 & watergirl
Week 3 - ????????????? due by 9/27 -- jeff & rahana
Week 4 - ????????????? due by 10/4 -- thatbubblychick & lshepler
Week 5 - ????????????? due by 10/11-- finewine & matisse7
Now, I haven't put myself in this, but if we have anyone who just can not come with a recipe, or for their own reasons, just doesn't wanna do this.... I can fill in for somebody. In fact, I am going to have a recipe ready each week - just in case!
Just pipe up if you need to change your assigned week!
Bear in mind, I believe that there will be bonus points awarded for the recipe that wins Best of Games. And also to the team who's member wins Best of Games.... as judged by the food judges who have signed up for this. Go back to the original challenge thread to get all the details.
