Austj-when I drink I swell..face too sometimes even when my weight is down
I have no idea what how this will change the weigh in but I am cooking great northern beans with a ham hock for dinner......I REALLY want to make fried potatoes with it......but I know that would not be the best choice...
Anyone here ever eaten sweet potato fries?
I lost 3 lbs this time! Down to 181 which is a total of 10 for the challenge and 15 since I started counting on 3-15 !!
Zenasavvy -- YES!!! I LOVE sweet potato fries!!! I cut them matchstick thin, then spray on becel spray and sprinkle with a little grated parmesan, and bake! SOOo GOOD!!!
Great Work Ghostplanet!!! Keep up the good work! What would you say would be your tips or tricks on such great success with losing weight?

I've been cutting out alot of my high carb foods - lot of bread and fried stuff (for me, lo-cal is all well and good, but if my carbs are over 60 per day, I get really tired and start gaining again) I try to eat something for breakfast, even if it is grilled ham and cheese on low carb bread (the doggies insist on sharing- lol!) I also have a 32 oz water jug that I keep ful of ice and water and I fill it about 5-6 times a day.
I've been making some substitutions in foods - someone posted a chicken enchilada recipe on CC and I used low carb flat bread instead of tortilla's. I also tried the tofu shirataki noodles - they work great! Low carb and lo-cal. Hubby has'nt noticed the difference in 4 weeks - he has had them at least 3 x per week - Dr says he has to cut his carbs. I make a skillet dish/stir fry with meat - steak, pork, chicken, tuna and add a lot of different cut veggies and seasoning and make a sauce with veg, beef or chicken broth and pour it over the noodles - I still haven't told him he is eating tofu - ROFLMAO!!!!
Plus - I just finished 12 physical therapy sessions for my back and the exercises I have to do every single day are crunches, abdominal leg lifts etc so I'm doing a lot more core work than I use to and I am starting to see the difference.
I just hope I can keep this up - I still have to lose about 35-40 more lbs - the size 8-10's have been waiting in the closet for 4 years!

Hi everyone. I too want to thank you Papa for all of your encouragement. I want to thank everyone who has given me support lately. I really need it. Kjmadill and Austj020 your words mean a lot. I have been thinking a lot about why I am sabotaging myself and I need to focus on the big picture. I would probably pass out if I actually got myself into a bikini much less looked good in it!! LOL! One day.....
I want to lose weight because:
I want to be healthy
I want to be able to wear cute clothes
I don't want extra health risks if I ever get pregnant
I also want the WOW factor from my boyfriend again!
Thanks again family. I had a slight gain this week but I would like to blame it on the water retention from the sunburn....... I will try harder this week guys!

Self sabotage---I gained 5.4 pounds. I hope that it is related to upcoming TotM but I don't know that is ALOT. More than half of my total loss this challenge.
I want to lose weight..
To be comfortable doing more physical activities.
To look nice in my clothes.
To make my son proud,
To decrease abdominal fat---the risk of diabetes and the risk of heart disease.
To have a better sex life :) I have to admit I was disappointed when I got down to weighing less that when my partner and I got together(2 years ago) and the frequency did not improve. It really has made me upset--at first I thought.."It doesn't matter if I lose or not" But I am doing this for me so now I am starting to think "I just need to lose 25-35 more pounds and then I will get a different partner lol"
Zena- you made me laugh! I am glad to know I am not the only woman out there that would like to increase the frequency!! I too am hoping that improves with the weight loss! It's crazy how much weight we can gain just from the stupid TOM!! It makes me mad! Do you do anything in particular to feel better during that time?

I start a new class today and the ladies in my group strength class are telling me that this spinning class kicks their backsides. I will let you all know how my backside feels after class. I am looking forward to it either way.
Zenasavvy - You have just found your motivation, IT'S A 6'2" REDNECK CHASING YOU DOWN FROM BEHIND AND IS GONNA KICK YOUR BUTT!!! I am here to motivate you and to pump you up! (said in my best Sweedish accent, those of us that have been around away know what I am talking about) You can do it and you will reach your goals just don't give up! Sweet Potato fries are the SHIZ NIT!!!!! I love em! I fix mine like Kjmadill does, cut them up shoestring dry them off, I spray mine with a EVOO mist and season, bake them chow down!! Your goals will be realized, physical activity is a big one. I have 15 pounds to go before my new clothes. Just starting a program to lose should make your son proud of you, I only know you from here and I am proud of not just you but of all of you ladies on here. The more around the abs you lose the better you will feel and have less chances for those ailments. Now for the last "goal" I will just keep my mouth shut on that one, don't want to get myself in all kinds of trouble.
I am not lacking in my drive that is for sure! Just wish I could have a little more of the act from time to time! You should not be thinking of doing it for anyone else BUT yourself!
Austj020 - Anytime, that is what I am here for. If you and Cristin post those bikini pictures together that would be awesome! wink wink! I can tell you when I started watching what I ate a little closer, I cut out salt all together and cold turkey. I now use it on a few things (Spinach and Watermelon) but other than that if you really look into it you get all you need from what you eat on a daily basis. I know it sounds hard, but truthfully it isn't. If you get the hunkerin' for something salty grad a handful of peanuts or sunflower seeds (both high in the GOOD kinds of oils/fats). Flushing your system with water will help, I know it sounds weird, but I have been told to rid extra sodium from the body you have to drink more water to urinate more. The more you get rid of the less sodium you will have in your body. The clearer it is the better off you are.
Ghostplanet - AWESOME!! Ok, now you have passed me in the loss department, I have just added you to my list of people I am gunning for. I am still at 7 lost. I hope to be down a pound or two today, but after not making it to the gym at all last week I don't know. Be careful about the amount of water you drink I have been warned that you can drink to MUCH water. I passed a kidney stone at 29, and a year later when I told the doc I was drinking between 1-2 gallons of water a day, he told me to stop and drink no more than a gallon and a half a day. I love it when you "fool" people and they cannot tell the difference in the foods. I do it all the time when friends come over and then tell them they just ate weight watchers or whatever they are like "no way" then they ask for the reciepe. A few of my friends have actually started eating healthier since I started. If I can lose 85 on my way to 100, and Blaynedrops has already lost 100, you can get rid of another 35-40! If not I will start chasing you to get you motivated as well!!!
Kjmadill - Try them with a little italian seasoning along with the Parm! They are great!
Wildntaken - I am with you on your goals! I used to be 1 and 2, but I can now say that I can actually run up a flight of stairs and not be breathing real heavy. With my son being Autistic I will be lucky if I ever have a grandbaby. Though right now we are trying to adopt a baby so maybe there will be one, don't know yet. All I have got from my wife is that she is proud of me and now she wants me to gain some back because 1) she lost her "electric blanket" and 2) she doesn't want me being hit on by all the "hotties" at the gym. As far as being here with a kind word and motivation, hey that is what I am here for! You know gotta keep my ladies motivated!
Cristin - You are welcome for the encouragement! You can always count on me for that. I have received plenty in my loss that all I can do is pay it forward and help anyone and everyone who is on this journey with me. QUIT TALKING LIKE THAT!!!!! YOU WILL GET INTO A BIKINI AND YOU ARE GONNA KNOCK YOUR BOYFRIEND OUT WHEN YOU DO!!!!! (Then your going to knock us all out when you post your picture, right?!) You will be healthy (you get pissed at yourself when you don't do things right), you will be in bikini's so I think the cute clothes are covered, and you will get the WOW factor from your man. I want to tell ALL you ladies something, I am one of those guys that think any woman who is pregnant is beautiful and always have a special glow about them! I know that may sound weird but that's me. I have been told many times, there is no mistaking me to be a manly man, but at the same time have been told I am to in touch with my feminine side also. I don't think so, I just think my Daddy raised me right! Have you ever gone to the weight watchers site and looked through their recipes they do have some good ones and they all taste good!
Just want to apologize again for this being so long but like I said yesterday I like to throw out the encouragement and I have to make up for last week. Keep up the good fight! It looks as if some of us have gained a little this week, well we will just kick it into high gear and we will all kick butt next week! Next week we will lose so much that we will make the other two teams go run and hide! GET OUT THE WAY FAMILY THREE IS COMING THROUGH!!!!!

Zenasavvy - Spinning class - The old time excercise bikes that have the solid front wheel and you can tighten or loosen the wheel. Yeah that is what spinning is. Though the girl who teaches the class normally has you standing most of the time and will not let you sit down. Then you do hills (high resistance) and then sprints (go as fast as you can) and other crazy things like that. I guess I kinda aged myself with the SHIZ NIT thing?

Congratulations kjmadill & austj020 for making the top 5/7 biggest losers! And congrats to all of team three!! We may have had a tiny setback, but lets chalk it up to Sodium, TOM, sunburn, birthday cake, whatever and get on a roll for this week. We're still all working hard and deserve to pat ourselves on the back.
Papa3169 - I, for one, really appreciated your "Pump you up" reference and I don't care if it ages me a little. Last night I tried to do my best Chris Farley "Living in a van down by the river" impression and my husband looked at me like I'd lost my mind. At first I thought that my impression was that frightening (which it probably was). But then I realized that when I was in college watching Saturday Night Live at the fraternity house every Saturday night he was still in middle school & didn't really get to watch SNL. OOPS! Sometimes I forget just how long 6 years can be.
cristin - I'll throw out today's menu in case anything is helpful: Breakfast - 2c puffed kamut cereal with 1c unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, Mid morning snack - 6oz Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt & 4oz Lite mixed fruit, Lunch - Leftovers - 3oz Chicken, Teryaki noodles (from the Knorr-Lipton pasta/rice packets), stir-fry vegatables & raw baby carrots, Mid afternoon snack - apple, Dinner - I haven't quite decided yet, but I think it will be shrimp, baked acorn squash, and green beans. Hope that helps!!
I'm losing weight because:
I don't want diabetes or heart disease, both of which run in my family.
I want to be able to buy "normal-sized" clothes.
I want to have the energy to keep up with my 4 year old
I want my daughter to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.
I want to "eat to live, not live to eat".
I am losing because:
I don't want to be the "big one" in my group of friends.
I want to fit into my size 9 jeans
I want to be the "thin one" in my office
I want to inspire and motivate the people in my office to be healthier
I want to feel good about what I see in the mirror
I want to be able to walk up 3 flights of stairs without nearly keeling over
I want to enjoy food instead of having a constant love/hate thing going on
I want my trainer to be proud of my progress and use me in his "Before and After" advertising
I want to be happy again
I want to go on a date because the guy picked me up, not as a favour to his friend/ mother/ coworker/ whatever
I want to accomplish something and not fail
I want to stand up to an ex of mine who always told me I was worthless
I want to save myself and my body from future joint pain and heart/health problems
I want to shop for clothes in a non plus size designated store
I want to feel comfortable in my own skin
I want to ballroom dance and maybe compete in a competition or two
I would like to own a bathing suit, or a pair of shorts
I want to be described as the lively one, the cute one, the curly red haired one, instead of the big one or the chunky one or the heavier one
I want to love myself again
(Wow, that turned into a huge list... but it's how I feel.... I love you guys, my team, you totally pump me up)

I got tears in my eyes too. I never really sat down and wrote it all out like that. I feel better now! I hope I inspire people... I want to lose this weight and help motivate people to o the same, like Jillian Michaels or something.
