hello team,

first of all i want to congrats you all on your weight loss!!  and thank you all for being supportive. if it wasnt for you all and this challenge i mite have not stuck it out this long. now i think its becoming a habbit to look at labels and count calories.....

well durning this challenge i have lost a total of 19 pounds! and i have lost 5 1/2 inches off me boobs, 4.1/2 off me waist, and 2 off me hips. plus more inches in other areas.... so this challenge has done me good! but have more to lose!!

papa i know all to well about that southern cooking!! to me its the best!!! ive been trying to tweek mine to the healthier side.... some dishes i make that i have subbed healthier food, hubby didnt even noticed!! which i was telling him over the weekend that is is the last weigh in, and he said and i quote "good now maybe you buy some goodies". lol.... my hubby has to have his goodies, but i have been buying healthier goodies.... but that is not the same when he wants him oreos and milk. but i have got him off of eating a big bag of chips every nite.!!  i started buying that trail mix.... and he eats a handful of that and is done munching..... but when i first bought it he said what did you buy this for? i hope you like it cause i wont eat it.... so i got out a serving for me and he tried it and liked it!! so funny he is..... he dont like it til he tries it..... then he likes it....

kjmadil thanks for starting this thread!! and i hope you do the next challenge... and thank you if you do!!

as papa said, lets keep this thread going if nothing else to check on each other. you all have became good supportive friends!! and i am glad to get to know you all!!

good luck and stay on your new healthier life style!!

Wildntaken - I try to keep it as healthy as possible, but there is something about Mom's Fried Chicken that I just cannot say no. I only have one breast in a sitting now (instead of like 3). This last week reminded me of how much I miss home. I cannot wait until I retire, I AM going back home to Arkansas (or SW Missouri). The family, the hospitality, the food, and just the good times in general.... for me anyway. I was welcomed home as a hero this time back. They say it is because I have devoted my life to the Navy, but I just see it as a job that I love to do, because I want to keep our land free for our childrens grandchildren... Other than that I would be back home working a 9-5 and not getting as much a reward out of it. Congrats on your loses you did awesome! I lost about 4 inches off the waist and gained an inch on my neck (in muscle that is, it helps with the body fat measurement in the Navy) I also lost inches other places just dont know how much total. All I know is my clothes that I could not get into 8 years ago I am getting back into. (That reminds me I owe you ladies a picture of me in my 36's) I will try and post some new pictures soon. Talk to you all later.

LETS KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE LADIES!!!!

Papa

Start Weight (1 April 2008) - 182

Wk 11 - 177.2
Wk 12 - 175.3

Loss this week -  1.9 lbs  (Yay!)

Total Loss in This Challenge - 6.7 lbs

I wish I had tried harder and lost more - sorry team! ( I also wish I hadn't bought a new digital scale...!)

BUT - here's to the next challenge!

My congratulations to all of you who have done so well, lost sooooo many pounds and inches!!!

I expect it would be too much to hope that we will all be in the same team for the next challenge, but I do hope that we will be able to keep this thread alive.  I am so interested in you all  and would love to keep in touch and hear how you are all doing!

Bye for now and God Bless!

papa heard you on the fried chicken! where about in sw mo? i live in mo.... close to the boot heel! well good luck and keep in touch!

and everyone else good luck and keep in touch too!!

In order to stay pretty close to home it will more than likely be from Carthage and South to the border. I grew up in NW Arkansas, Springdale to be exact. I just recently found out that I have relatives all over the area around Gateway, AR up to Seligman, MO. When I went back last week I actually was able to find my GGrandparents gravesites. I am an adopted child and recently found out who my birth mother was and am trying to piece together family history. Just one of my many hobbies, Genealogy!

Birth family back about 5 generations, adopted family back much further. (One branch all the way back to the 700's!

Later,
Papa

I finally broke 180 even it if was only 1/2 lbs

179.5 this morning.

I've been going up and down 5 lbs all month.

Too many veggies cause me problems.  Finally got THAT fixed.

I am hoping to lose a few more lbs by 7-12 for my friends wedding.  I'd like to tone down some of the back rolls a bit.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Just checkin in to see if anyone still ever checks here?

Papa

hi guys, how all doing??? yep, papa i check here once a day! see ya all in the next challenge!!

HAVE A SAFE AND FUN FILLED 4TH!!!

Hi!  I've been checking in daily too, and was a bit sad to see no messages - but did not leave one, should have done!

A few of us have signed up for the new challenge which is good to see.

papa - did you ever get the wii-fit?  I'm still having great fun with mine.

wildntaken - you did so amazingly well in the last challenge, I really admire you for that!

Happy 4th of July tomorrow!

Hey ladies,

Wildntaken - Had a good weekend, didn't do a whole lot, and ready to get goin on the next challenge.

Letsgetitstarted - I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND ONE!!!!! They sold out in about 30 minutes when they hit the stores up here in Washington. I look every time I go in, and there are none online either. A friend of mine got it and I have tried it, but as of right now, no I do not have it.

I think it would be cool if we all stayed on the same team, but that will be up to KJ. Even if we don't we will still stay in touch.

Later Ladies,
Papa

We may not all still be on the same team, but we are all still in it to win it!

http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/105 578.html

Just wanted to say hi and I miss you guys.  I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi cristin!

Miss you too!  Hope all is going well for you in the purple team!  It would have been good if we all could have stayed in the same team, but in a way we still are because as papa always says "we are a family" and that is not going to change.  We still care about each other and all want the very best for "our family"!

Hope you are enjoying the summer.  Are you still getting sunburned in your boat?

Take care!

hi guys! how everyone doing???  hows the purple and blue guys doing??? hope all is ok and drinking and keeping on track!! miss alot of you on our team!!

letgetitstarted cool on the shoes!! do you feel like your burning calories???

well good luck and hope to hear from you all soon!! let us know how you are doing!!

Hi wildntaken!

I don't know about burning more calories:)  Probably too soon to tell - but I do feel as if my posture is better, it is difficult to describe - I somehow feel "more fluid" in my walking, like I did when I was younger!  (Poor old fifty-something!)  I have been feeling more like a "seventy-something" with creaky knees and stiff back.....!

You and your hubby do a lot of fishing don't you?  What kind of fish do you catch and do you have any favorite recipes?  My husband loves fish, but I am not too keen and so I hardly ever cook it for him!

Good luck to you and to our purples and blues - hope all is well with everyone!

Hi letsgetitstarted!

I was kinda bummed to be without my family on my new team.  I still have you guys here though.  We took the boat out for the 4th of July weekend and I got sunburned again!!  I just don't know what the deal is!!  I put on SPF 50 on my body and SPF 70 on my face repeatedly and I still got sunburned!!

How are things going on the other teams?  How is the weight loss going for everyone?

Blue team is doing well, I once again did not lose any weight but still taking it off the waist so it's all good. I finally got my Wii FIT, IT'S AWESOME and fun to boot. My wife doesn't like the fact that I have better balance than she does. My son loves it too. Ladies I care about my blue team and all, but we are family and will continue to cheer, route for and encourage each other throughout any and all challenges that we participate in.

Love ya'll,
Papa
