LaughingYay! Papa's back!  We missed your wonderful encouragement!  So glad you got your Wii Fit at last , you are in for a lot of fun and laughter as well as encouragement to work out - not that you seem to need any!

Good luck in the blue team they sure are lucky to have you.

Have a good weekend everyone - cristin - you need SPF 100 if there is such a thing!

You all still have me too though! I still check in at least once a day, more if I get a chance. The summer is the busiest time at work for me. I transfer again in about nine months. I am looking forward to this one though, Why you may ask? THIS IS MY LAST ONE!!!!! When I transfer I will have 2 years left, then I am going back home (your neck of the woods Wildntaken) to start my life after the military. I cannot wait! It will be a welcome change of pace, and will allow me to get back in touch with my nature side. Fishing, hunting, camping, and all the other great outdoor stuff. The Wii Fit is a lot of fun and it is really funny to watch my son try and use it.

Later,
Papa

hi all!! i check in once a day.... but i dont alway leave a message! Embarassed yes we do miss papa on our team..... but hes still here!

christin, we miss you on our team! but aleast we have this thread! and we still will root you on!!!

papa, hope you are haveing fun with the wii! sounds like fun! and that 9 months will go faster than you think! hubby and i have been going fishing every sat. and sun. and loving it!  and we go deer hunting too!  and we really enjoy the outdoors and spending that time together!

well its getting late and i have other emails to answer. you all have a terriffic weekend!

lets keep shrinking!!

Hi everyone.  I hope you all are doing well.  Thanks for the support!  My bf has been working out of town a lot so I have been kinda sad.  I miss him a lot.  I should be going to the gym and working out super hard to take my mind off of it but..... I managed to go yesterday.  I brought my workout clothes with me today cuz if I go home first I won't want to leave again!

I hope you guys have a good day!  Talk to you soon

hi everyone! just checking in! how are you all doing? cristin, sorry your mans away! but take avanage of it! see if you can drop a few pounds to see if he notices when he gets back! i will be worth it, health wise and the comments from him!

good luck all!! hope to hear from you soon!!

I am still checking in when I get a chance! I am still here for ya ladies!

Cristin - Get to the gym, it will at least take your mind off of him being gone for a little while! Plus, the weight you lose while he is gone will be noticed when he gets back.

The Wii Fit is awesome! I have been held down for about a week now with a knee injury, but still doing some long walks and staying as active as the knee lets me be. I have an appointment to get it looked at in about 10 days. This could not come at a worse time for me, 12 pounds to hit 100 and I come down with a bum knee!!!!

I may take about 6 months for JUST me once I retire, and do a lot of camping and fishing, I hunt a different way now days, I hunt with a camera more than I do a gun. Reason why is it is so hard to keep a firearm while being in the Navy. I am sure I will start hunting more once I retire, but have learned a whole new appreciation for nature since not being able to use a gun.

I will talk to you ladies later, KEEP ON KEEPIN ON!!!!

Papa

Hi everyone - just checking inSmile!

cristin - I agree with wildntaken and papa - put your time alone to good use - look after you - you will feel a lot better for it,  look a lot better and HE WILL notice!  If you are feeling a bit down sometimes check in to the blue team thread...!!! and read papa's posts. I did  that yesterday and came away feeling inspired again!  (sorry blue team for the snooping!)Embarassed

papa - so sorry to hear about your knee.  Do take care - we, and everyone else,

need you!  Do let us know how you get on.  With your strength of mind, it will  just be a minor set back, and you will soon reach your 100!

Take care everyone!

Letsgetitstarted - As you could tell by my post yesterday I came across a little harsh on one of my new family members and I apologized today. I do not care if you come over and check things out. Like I said "we are here for everyone" and I still have enough to spread around to everyone. I will let ya'll know what is going on with the knee, and it will not hold me back from hitting 100 lbs lost. This week with Scouts I have not been able to go to the gym like I usually do but I am getting a 5 hour workout each night trying to keep up with 85 boys aged 6 - 10! My watch/heart monitor/calorie counter actually hit 5300 calories burned yesterday!

Cristin - Now, one thing I can say is that I have never seen a picture of you but I can see the difference in you. I know you may think I am crazy or at least somewhat mental but I try to visualize people, and I try to keep the image changing as I have seen your posts change. You are doing awesome and you will continue to do awesome. If your guy does not see the change (not trying to bad mouth the guy) but he must be blind.

I guess Wildntaken has taken a short leave of absence to go do some of that huntin' and fishin' she always talks about. I truely think it would be funny once I retire from the military and will be camping somewhere back home and run across her in the campground. Not knowing her in person but just from her pictures on here, and walking up to her and asking "Are you Wildntaken, getting slapped, and then she realizes why I asked that, then sit down and talk to each other all night!" It will probably never happen but it would be funny if it did.

Talk to you ladies later,
Papa

Thanks Papa n Letsgetstarted, that really means a lot.  He actually pointed out that my calves are getting soft last night.  My calves are like my one and almost only thing I am proud of so it hurt.  He said he was joking cuz we never fight and he could tell I was mad.  He reminded me about how I used to always go to the gym before him.  So I am gonna get back into gear.  With or without him there to notice I will feel better about myself.  Now that sounds awful and I don't mean for it to but it bugs me how we are in the "comfortable" phase now how he thinks he doesn't have to say nice things anymore "I should know" that he thinks and feels that way.  UGH!  Whatever.

It's funny you should say that about checking the blue team's thread cuz I did that too.  I got kinda sad cuz we are all spread out now.

I hope you guys are doing well.  Have a good day.

Heeeeelllllllloooooooooo Ladies,

Cristin - Is he that dunce? I knew at a very young age that you never talk "bad" about a womens body! The way I look at things is everyone is made the way they are for a reason. You are beautiful no matter what people say. If I were standing/sitting close enough to him when he said that I would have probably popped him up side the head. Well, if you like you calves then I am the one for you because I love me a nice set of legs! So he saw you were mad and did you tell him his comment pissed you off even more?
That is the spirit, hit the gym, get buff, and THEN KICK HIS BUTT! Like I have said I may never see you, but I can see the strides you are making to improve your overall health and physique. There is nothing "comfortable" in any relationship (as far as I am concerned) there is always more to learn about each other. If you ever think you know everything about a person then it may be time to move on. Now, agian this is me and noone else, but still after being married for 15 years I still try to bring a rose to my wife once a month, a card here and there, open the door most of the time, and all the other things guys are SUPPOSED to do for their Queen. I still do them, maybe not as much as II once used to but I still do them.

Now ladies, you can come on by the blue team thread and see what's going on, but ya'll can have me all to yourselves here also. There you have to share me, here you don't. It seems as if there are only four of us trying to keep in contact and out of all of the family only four come back to see what's goin on. Well, I know that ya'll are the most loyal friends I have made on this site. I have talked to many people but those folks send one or two emails and then they are gone. Thanks for being there for me ladies, and just know that I will be here for you as long as you want me around!

I don't know you in person, but in my own special way I love ya'll, thanks for being a big support when I need it. Laughing

Later
Papa

Thanks papa!!  You always make me feel better!  He has done better yesterday and today.  He whistled at my legs yesterday.  He made a special trip to my work this morning to bring me some goodies.  I think he knew he was stupid and is trying to make up for it now.  He is leaving for a guy's camping weekend this evening so I plan on spending a lotta time at the gym this weekend.  As much as I love him, I have to take better care of myself for me and then it benefits him and us too.  I always feel bad when I complain about him cuz as soon as I do he does something wonderful and I feel like a jerk!

You are so sweet and thoughtful to do those things for your wife.  I hope she appreciates them! I hope the week with the scouts was fun

I have said it many times before, you guys, my online friends are often more supportive than my real life friends.  I am so greatful to have you!!

What are you guys planning for the weekend?!

Cristin - It is like I said before, you are a beautiful woman! even if I have never seen you. I am glad he got wise! Sounds like he is a pretty good guy all together then, just has his moments where he loses his mind and does something dumb like he did yesterday. I am not asking, but I am guessing I know what some of the "benefits" are!
Yes, she does appreciate them, but the bad part is she says I need to do it more often. I just tell her that I have to save some for my girlfriends. She just laughs and doesn't complain to much after that. Plus, I tell her it goes both ways. Maybe not a rose or opening the door, but maybe buy me a round of golf at the local course or something like that. The last time she did that was about 10 years ago.

I think we are more receptive to the friends we make here because we know they face the same things we do on a daily basis. We can learn from each other. Plus, we can be real with each other knowing that we are all going through the same worries, feelings, and other stuff. We have to count on each other. We will not sugar coat anything. If you need to get back in the gym, I tell you get back in the gym. If I need to get back in the gym, I expect to hear ya'll tell me "Papa, get your backside back in the gym!" I would expect nothing less from you ladies.

After the week I have had I am doing NOTHING this weekend! I am kicking back in my recliner and relaxing. I might get up and work out some, but 25 hours of cub scout camp I think I have had a good workout week and can relax over the weekend. I do have to do laundry though.

Papa

Hey family!

cristin - it's good to hear you sounding so positive!  It will work wonders for your relationship! Don't feel like a jerk - we all need to rant sometimes, and if you can rant to us, then you will feel better and enjoy your time with him more.

papa - you are so right, as usual, only our "family" on here really knows what we are going through.  Other friends may be sympathetic for a while, but soon tire of hearing about calories, exercise and why I do not want to join them in another glass of wine!  Now, NO going back in the gym 'til your knee is better, you hear?!!!

Where's wildntaken?  Hope she is OK!

This weekend my husband, son and I are going to the coast to do some sailing - hope the weather will be good!

Have a great weekend!

I leave you with a poem which has inspired me:

BEGIN AGAIN

One of the best things we can do in our lives is this:

Begin again.

Begin to see yourself as you were

When you were the happiest and strongest you've ever been.

Begin to remember what worked for you

(and what worked against you),

And try to capture the magic again.

Begin to remember how natural it was when you were a child --

To live a lifetime each day.

Begin to forget the baggage you have carried with you

For years:

The problems that don't matter anymore,

The tears that cried themselves away,

And the worries that are going to wash away

On the shore of tomorrow's new beginnings.

Tomorrow tells us it will be here every new day of our lives;

And if we will be wise,

We will turn away from the problems of the past

And give the future -- and ourselves -- a chance

To become the best of friends.

Sometimes all it takes is a wish in the heart to let yourself ..

Begin again.

 Collin McCarty

letsgetitstarted - Oh my goodness!!  I absoluetly love that poem!  It was so beautiful and inspiring to let the past go and live for the future!  Thank you so much for sharing that!  I hope your time sailing with your family was fun and you didn't get sunburned like I always do!  haha!  You are so right about friends.  I am glad I have you guys.

papa - I bet you are all ready for that recliner!  You deserve it!  I love kids but 25 hours may be a bit too much for me to handle!!  You are so right about nice gestures going both ways.  I got out of work early today (YAY!!) and got home before my boyfriend did so to thank him for being sweet today I took his truck and filled it up with gas.  One less thing for him to have to do on his way out to the lake.  You are right, he is a good guy but I swear sometimes his brain completely leaves his head and he just makes me crazy.  He better freakin' miss the heck out of me this weekend!  Haha!  I hear ya with the laundry...I tell you I don't know how two people can make so much laundry in just one week!!

Talk to you guys soon!

Hey there ladies,

Letsgetitstarted - What coast are you close to? Hope you had fun this weekend. We are having race week this week.

Cristin - I did enjoy my time with my recliner! I also had a few frosty adult beverages. I know I shouldn't have, but I wanted a couple after last week. You and I both got out of work early then. I have to stand up for my fellow man! We all lose the smarts from time to time. I know how my family makes that much laundry, my wife changes clothes like 4 times a day! I know this because when I get completly done with the laundry her stuff more than doubles mine and my sons!

You ladies have a great day!

Love ya'll!
Papa

hi guys!

that would be funny papa!! but i wouldnt slap ya!! i just have a look on my face like i know you from somewhere!!

so i have been so buzy! and trying to stay cool!!  its about time to do some picking in my garden! i have been makeing zucchini bread like crazy! mainly trying this way and that way.... but as much as my hubby eats of it, i got to try to make it healthier!  so i have been in the garden and the kitchen.... got to pick green beans in a couple of days and the cukes too! i am going to have them comming out my ears!!!  but i am waiting on the tomatoes!

i am still here and doing my workouts and watching what goes in my mouth! and lately it hasnt been a whole lot. it is just to hot to eat!! hope that dont hurt my loss! will it?

chrstin - sometimes we have to let the guys know we want the comments... they are guys! i tell my hubby why dont you tell me how good i look or anything like that. well now that i have lost a total of 35 pounds he does! and it feels great!

well guys it is bedtime here...... so you all have a great nite and week! i will try to stop by and say hi in between picking and canning!

and i click the email notification and they are not sending me emails saying the fourms have been commented on.... wonder what is up with that?

Hi Guys.  I hope everyone had a good weekend and the week is off to a good start.

As for me, it looks like my boyfriend and I are on the verge of splitting up.  It sucks really, really bad.  I am trying to put my hurt, anger and saddness to good use and going to the gym to burn it off instead of stuffing it down with food....like usual.

Wildntaken - glad the garden is bloomin!  I wish I had that green thumb of yours!!

Papa - There's nothing quite like relaxin with a cold one.

Talk to you guys later

Wildntaken - I hope that is what would happen, most women if you asked then if they were wildntaken would probably slap first and ask questions later. Now, you are really makin me miss home! You know that right? Zucc bread, kukes, maters.... There is nothing like good fresh veggies. Being in Navy housing they will not let me have a garden and there is only so much you can grow out of planters. Good to see that you are still workin out and eatin good. I understand about the hot and not wanting to eat. I know I will be the same way once I get back there. The best thing to do instead of eating big meals is to graze all day. You keep enough in you system to not be hungry but you don't take in too much to raise your body temp to aid in digestion. If you just don't eat it will send your body into shock, and whatever you put in your mouth half or more will go straight to fat to store energy between meals. (Believe me on this one, I gained over 100 lbs slowly trying to eat only once a day.) And there are a few of us left out here that don't need any proding to pay compliments to the ladies in our lives. (and again, I am not a "girlie man"). You keep up the good work and hopefully sometime in the future we will run into each other.

Cristin - Sounds like I need to come kick some butt! Do you want me to come hurt him? Nobody hurts my ladies. Ok, now that I some of the anger out of the way. Take your arms wrap them around yourself and squeeze! Did you feel me giving you a hug! I am here if you need me, my shoulder is ready for ya! That is if you need it. Take one of your pictures of him make copies of it and put it on the heavy bag at the gym and just wail on it! It is a great workout and your burn mad calories! You will also FEEL it the next day! Just remember if you kill the hurt with food, the only person you are hurting is yourself. You came here to look for something more, you came here looking for support so you wouldn't do things like that any longer, guess what YOU FOUND IT! We are here for you anytime you need us. I check back here at least four to five times a day. If you need to vent, cry, b***h, rant, rave, you name it..... I AM HERE FOR YOU! About you green thumb comment: I wish my whole thumb was green, mine is half green and half brown! I can keep somethings alive, but others there is no helping me. The cold ones are the best kind.... HOMEMADE! If you have ever taken plain water and seen it go to a true brew then you do not know the sweet taste of real great beer. I can no longer drink the beer that you can get for 10 bucks a case, that stuff tastes like water after having the good stuff.

I know we just need to get everyone still here together and we can sit around eatin' some good home cookin' and drinkin' some good homebrew! How does that sounds to everyone? Now, the only way this could happen is if everyone lived somewhat close to each other. We could have a good ole' time!

See you ladies later,
Papa

Thanks Papa.  I am so confused right now, I hate it.  I guess I just have to let it go and just let things happen.  I appreciate your support.  When things are going well he tends to freak out for some reason.  I dunno.

A get together would be fun! It would be funny to see you all in real life instead of on the computer!  Maybe one day.

Going to dinner with my dad tonight.  We are trying somewhere new that neither of us have been to yet.  I don't know what to expect.  I hope I can find something yummy but healthy too.

Hope you all had a good day

hey papa, have you heard of the (i think its called) toppie turby?  it grows tomatoes plants upside down... and you hang it on your porch?  they say it works good for tomatoes, zucchini, cuke, and squash plants.   of course you would need one for each plant you wanted to grow....  its the idea for no garden space and you just want that homegrown taste....   when it gets as hot as it has been, yesterday 102 f., it like no i cant eat.... i cant stand that sick feeling..... no ambition to workout or do my chorse.....  but today this morning it rained and stormed till noon...... and cool it down.... so today i felt like eating!

so i gotta question for any of you to answer.......   ok  my hubby love zucchini bread.... i am trying to make it healthier..... and i have been in the kitchen at nite trying different things... so far no real flops.... but he likes it with raisians in it..... my question is...... i didnt have a raisin in the house.... i did have grapes and so i made raisins....... are they the same nutrition? or do they add things to the grapes to make raisins??  like sodium or such as that??  i figure that mine would be better since i just put them in my dehydrater.....

well you all have a great nite and week i will try to check in sooner than i have been....

going to pick green beans tomorrow.... and putting them in the freezer... but keeping out enough for supper..... yummm.... sorry papa if you were closer i would share! and everyone else!!
