Week 3 Standings have been posted.

Hey Team! I posted and highlighted our results in the Original post! Check it out!!

Way to go Lola and Zena!!

Ok ya'll. Once again we had three out of the top SIX this week because we had two folks in the family tie for pounds lost! GREAT JOB YA'LL! I will be on most of today but may not be on the site. I will be working but will be keeping my eye on the blog at the same time! There is a team who beat us on weight loss this past week (if I would have maintained we still would have had the most lost) but after a little motivation from letsgetitstarted yesterday I am ready to go out and TRY to be the BIGGEST LOSER this week. Saturday we had a good day walking in our parade with the Scouts, and then Sunday walked for about 5 hours nice and casual through the arts festival and then the carnival. Any of you that have young kids know that walking casually through a carnival is almost impossible, right! Well, I have been blessed with a well behaved son and his friend that went with us "understood" that if they ran off from Mom and I that we would be leaving the carnival as soon as I caught them. They behaved wonderfully. Well, I will be around today but I need to get back to doing some work.

Thoguht for the day:
Keep your head up and looking at the end goal, do not let today stop you tomorrow!

Papa

Thanks for the backup Papa.  Things are ok now.  Relationships sure are learning experiences, aren't they?!

Cristin, Been there done that, if you need to ask the old man of the group any MAN questions I might be able to give a little insight. I will let you know agian anytime you just need to talk send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am glad things are good now. Learning experiences, let me just say this 15 years, going strong, and learning new things about the relationship each day.

Papa

Ok, Letsgetitstarted and anyone else, here's the site I found.

bodybuilding.com

Simple huh?  Well on that site they have articles about losing fat and little things (and some extreme things) you can do to increase fat loss and build muscle.

I went there because I'm a girl obsessed about not getting big and muscly, and I realized that there is a LOT of work that goes into that (getting big and muscly) that I'm not going to do, so I have nothing to be worried about.

It's that TOM, so we'll see how wednesday's weigh in goes...

Best of luck guys!

wtg kjmadill and lola!!

WTG to all of you!!

158.2 again today...day 2 TTOM  ...Hope I can come close to 155 by May 4

Hey Team!

WTG loladuvall, zenasavvy and kjmadill!  Amazing results guys!  Well done to everybody, especially as it's week 3 and weight loss is bound to have fallen off a bit.

austj020 - thanks for the link!

wildntaken - are you OK?  Thinking of you!:) (hugs)

My new toy arrived this weekend, wii-fit!  It was hilarious the first time I tried it - I'm not very good at balancing.  It gave my son a laugh anyway!  As I was trying to ski down the slalom, I was colliding with all the markers instead of weaving in and out!  I felt quite exhausted after 20 mins on it, so I must have used up some calories.

Good luck for the weigh-ins everyone.

Letsgetitstarted - Here is the main quesiton I have. They have been marketing the Wii FIT toward women saying that it is mainly FOR women. Is that true or can anyone get a good workout from it? Please let me know because if it would benifit others I will get one as soon as I can. The one with the balance issue is my son, being autistic he doesn't have the greatest balance. Thanks ahead of time.

Austj020 - I know you don't want to get big and bulky, but be careful when doing lighter weights as well. The reason I say this is because my class that I go to each week which is a conditioning class, has already increased my bicepts and neck by an inch or more. Just be careful is all I am saying.

Papa

Hi Papa!

Well I have only had the wii-fit for a couple of days so I cannot give you a thorough evaluation, BUT - I love it, and I am sure your son would too!  My balance is hopeless and I have learned some good tips already.  It helps you to find where your centre of gravity is and to correct it.  You can feel how you should be standing and then after a few times adjust quite easily.  As far as it being any good for men - my son, who is 25 and 6'2" and with a BMI of 24 is very impressed with it.  He did some of the exercises that I could not attempt yet, i.e. pushups with one hand on the wii-fit and leg crossovers (I think I have the description right) and he said it was very hard to do.  He is a gym regular -  so no weakling!  Some of his colleagues in the office have also bought it and are very impressed and get a good jogging workout with it.  You can also do yoga - I haven't tried that yet.

My son has just returned from the gym and he says "go for it!"

I hope this helps!

Well, with the review I just got from you and your son, I will definitely GO FOR IT! Tell your son thanks and that I value his recommendation. I will be looking for it when it comes this way.

Papa

Does anyone else self-sabotage when you get to a new low weight?

oh zena.....that is exactly how i gained back those 2 pounds last tuesday!  what happened?

well..I am still ok calorie-wise today but..........I was really starting to head into a binge....I think I am ok....

I have done that every time I would get to a new low weight for years

Just wondered how common it is...

hi team, first i want to thank cristin, kjmadill, letsgetstarted, and papafor the kind words....  friday i ended up getting sick.... Frown my hubby was sick for abut a week and i thought i was doing good by not catching it.... wrong.... i got it and worst than him!! today is the first day in 2 i have been up and about.... but not for to long and back on the couch i go..... my eatting  has been none.... but i have tried.... but havent kept it down... til today....  i started out slow..... and then really didnt care what i ate since i havent in a few days.....  then it went rite through me.... this flu has got to go..... so i havent been able to workout or eat normal..... so i cant be sure what weigh in will be.... now i going back to the couch and soon to bed..... good luck at weigh in and hopefully i will be better tomorrow......  and those ones i was telling you about...... havent heard a word from any of them!!  and dont care if i do anymore..... so on with my life and getting healthy and trying to stay that way....

good  luck all!!

sorry team, i didnt loose or gain...... maybe next week will be better....

good luck to you all!!

Hi everybody!  Thanks for the pats on the back & way to go team three!!  I think we are all doing great & I love the great tips I'm getting from everyone!

Papa, No "if I would haves" from you!!  We are a team and no pointing fingers, even if it is at yourself!!

letsgetitstarted, Thanks for sharing about the Wii Fit.  Although I'm completely jealous because I have to wait a while longer I'm excited to hear that it is entertaining & calorie burning!  It's available here right around my wedding anniversary, so I'm trying to talk the hubby into us buying it for ourselves as an anniversary present.

wildntaken - I hope you feel better soon!

kjmadill - Thanks again for posting our results and taking good care of our team thread!!

Congrats to kjmadill, zenasavvy, and all of us "losers" on team three!!

im relosing weight already lost once.. :(

262 today gna try to be out of the 60s next week. good luck ev1

Hi everyone.  I am down 2.2.  Hope everyone is doing well

What's up my family!!! Hope all are doing well today. I will be weighing in tomorrow. I did have a good workout day yesterday. After work went out and played a softball game (got our butts kicked) then went to the pool and swam an hour with my son (special olympics practice). HE DID AWESOME!!! He learned how to float on his back, learned how to breath while keeping his head in the water, and started to learn the breast stroke. That is the best day at swimming he has had since he first learned how to swim. The only disappointing part of the practice was that we found out that he did not qualify (supposedly) for the State Swim meet. He earned two silver medals at region and did not qualify? yeah right! We are checking into it and if we find out that he did qualify I will take him myself.

I am hoping that I lost some good weight this week, I know I feel like I lost some. I just wish that the waist was not the LAST place that it came off of. That is the only thing that is hindering my body fat measurement as far as the Navy is concerned. I will be going to my strength class today, and got the ok from my chain of command to go to a class each day of the week so starting next week my weekly workout will be Spinning - Mon, Strength Class - Tues, Step & Sculpt - Wed, Strength Class - Thur, and Spinning - Fri. The best part is that all the classes are on business time. The only reason why I get to go to them is because my chain of command know that I do what I need to do to get the job done. I take stuff home that I do not finish here.

Leetsgetitstarted - I think I may have talked my wife into the Wii FIT last night. Even if she doesn't want to get it I think I am going to.

Cristin - You are awesome! You are motivating me you have lost what 10 pounds so far! That is great, and I bet you feel a heck of a lot better don't ya! Keep going!

Zenasavvy - What I do when I start to feel that I am about to binge is to write everything I want to eat down on a pice of paper and look at the calories and normally that will sway me away from the binging. I do have a cheat day every week though. Sunday mornings I go to a local eatery and have my Chicken Fried Steak covered in gravy, eggs, hash browns and toast. After that I am good to go for the rest of the week.

Wildntaken - GET BETTER WE MISS YA!!!! One heck of a way to lose a couple of pounds huh?! I know how ya feel, I had Phneumonia for three weeks last year, THAT WAS NO FUN AT ALL!!!!

Lola - Ok, I will quit with the pointing fingers, even at myself. Giving Lola a big hug!

Midnight Mocha - I know how you feel relosing the weight lost once already, keep your spirits high, goals lofty and your eyes on the prize and you will get there. If you fall off a day or two jump right back on and get back into the groove. Oh, by the way, there is no TRY to be in the 60's tell yourself you WILL be in the 60's next week.

Well, I better get back to work for now. I will be checking in throughout the rest of the day.

Quote for the day:
Jump in with both feet, or you will never get wet (going)!
