Team 1 Thread for the Biggest Loser Challenge -- Part 6
Original Post by veganjada:
All I wanted to do after work yesterday was eat and curl up on the couch and watch the Biggest Loser! By the way, did anyone vote?? I can't bring myself to vote, I love both of them so much and can't decide who I would want to be able to go to the finals!! I hope one of the girls wins this time though. I think Ali is gonna do it for sure! How long do we have to vote? I think I am going to vote for Mark so that Ali has a chance of winning.
I'm not sure how long we have for voting. I just checked the website and it's open right now, soo...
I agree that if Roger was voted off that it would give Ali (or even Kelly!!!) a chance to win. At 169 lbs, I can't see Mark pulling numbers like that again this week.. But I just don't know if I can bring myself to contribute to the voting. To me, it's not like American Idol. I'd vote for them (if I actually watched it) because all they are doing is singing. But the Biggest Loser contestants have all worked SO HARD and I think they ALL deserve to win! Aggghhhh!!! LOL
Anyway, here's the website if you wanna vote. I'm just not sure yet... ![]()

This is gonna be the longest week ever.
The Biggest Loser was AWESOME last night :)
Im totally hoping Ali wins...she is doing sooo amazing! They all are working so hard, and that is just so inspiring to watch!
I don't know who to vote for...I love Roger...so I'd like to see him back, But I really want one of the girls to win!
ps....My butt is so sore...literally...my butt cheeks! =) I did squats yesterday with my lower body wieght circuit, and then I ran 2 miles....I'm walking a little funny today :) LOL
I have an all day volleyball tournament on Sunday this weekend and I always burn MEGA calories, so I'm hoping to pull another 2 or 3 lbs loss for the week... :)
Woo hoo girly!!! Way to go! ![]()
I did an hour of Yoga and another 20 mins of cardio. My boss is out of town this week, so normally I can't do the extra cardio on my Yoga days, hehe. AND I have discovered that as long as I log my food immediately after I eat it, I'm not tempted to eat any snacks. So, after a LOVELY dinner, I am still under my calorie limit! Hooray!
And I agree about TBL, I love Roger too, but... Awww hell I love them all!!! I want one of the girls to win, and.. I really have a feeling that as long as Mark makes it into the finals, Kelly just might have a shot. She was the biggest girl on there this season, and even though she comes in last place in every challenge, she still busts her butt and doesn't give up. The girl's got heart!!! Ali has done such an amazing job, but I typically go for the underdog, soo... Anyway, I'm so inspired. And I can't wait for next season to start, LOL!!!
ok...i am gung ho team 1 and dedicated to losing some serious lbs in this next 12 weeks, but does anyone notice that our starting weights on our team are overall a lot lower than the other teams??
I don't say this to be a negative Nelly, but instead to say that we are going to have to kick it up a notch to be able to shed weight like they are! Lets get motivated everyone! We have to have the heart to make it happen!!
resabg- I agree. Our team does seem to be somewhat the lightweights (comparitively speaking). However, as you have suggested - we can do this!
Going now to complete my 100 minutes of exercise for the day.
"We have the heart to make this happen!!" (This should be our mantra)

So true. Each of the top four are inspirational and have worked hard to get where they got. It is unbelievable what they accomplished in 15 weeks. Let me think on that as I head for the Nordic Track...
Afternoon everyone, (well it's morning for those of you in the US)
I'm feeling very motivated today: I'm in the zone! How's everyone doing?
I'm sooo jealous that all you guys can watch the american biggest loser, I love it but we don't get it over here! ![]()
Anyway been really good on the food side of things, just need to step my exercise up a notch, then we'll be cooking on gas!

I just want to drop a quick statistic.
Team 1 - 14 of 15 starting weights posted - Total weight 2809.20lbs
Team 2 - 13 of 15 starting weights posted - Total weight 2893.65lbs
Team 3 - 14 of 15 starting weights posted - Total weight 2882.10lbs
When I made the teams about half of the people posted their SWs, I sorted them by highest to lowest and put #1 on 1, #2 on 2, #3 on 3, #4 on 1, #5 on 2, #6 on 3, etc. Mathematically Team 1 is infact the lightest team, but only by about 1/3 of a member.
Morning!
So, I just realized something. Isn't it sad, how most of us will spend big bucks on workout equipment at home, and then like NEVER use it??
My boyfriend has lived with me for 2 years now. When he moved in, he brought with him: An elliptical, sit-up bench thingy, nd a Bowflex. In 2 years, I have probably used the Bowflex twice, and the elliptical maybe 10 times. Then I spend $25 a month on a gym membership, too, and don't go NEARLY as often as I should. (I go through phases). Just cracks me up how silly it is. And I know everyone here has probably done the same thing!
I also have: Workout videos that I've used literally ONCE (Remember buns of steel and abs of steel??? Hahaha), a Yoga video and mat I've used ONCE (I prefer the classes to doing it at home) and an aerobic stepper and video that I've used 3 times (I prefer the classes!!) I have ankle weights, free weights, and I'm pretty sure if I look in the attic I probably have the old thigh master and "ab roller" up there somewhere.
How did I get to be 190+ lbs when I have all that stuff??? Lol. Geeeeez.
Anyway, how is everyone's morning so far? I'm good. Just gearing up for another long day of work and a nice workout at lunch. Woo hoo!
"We have the heart to make this happen!!" Loving it too :)
Totally agree with you vegan. I've got at least 3 fitness dvds, an aerobic stepper, pilates dvd and mat (actually never used!) mini weights, exercise bike and weights bench! Plus a whole bunch of fitness books that i've never fully read!
Maybe if i used these i'd be a super model by now
, but really I think the real reason is that at the end of the day if you're in your own house you know there are better things you could be doing! So going out to do your exercise you're not as distracted by things like your partner, the tv or food!
I've taken a leaf out of your book and started taking walks in my lunch break in stead of being stuck in front of my computer... and actually i've found out that i live in a really beautiful city, i've just never really noticed it before! So i'm going to start enjoying it.

jeremy- Thanks for posting and explaining the methology. It is quite amazing how close the team weights are given that you randomly assigned half of them. The first part of assigning by weight was pure genius and likely influenced the very even result at the end.
Thank you too for the work you have and will be putting into this. ![]()
Yeah! I weighed myself today and look forward with glee to next Tuesday!!! Hehehe
We have the heart to make this happen!!
Well, I hate to be a downer but a heads up: I am on a plateau. Do not know what to do about this? Very frustrating. I've only changed up/down by a pound since March 27th.
I made an appointment with a personal trainer for 4/28 (can't be stuck like this forever). But, I am still really going to try to lose the 15 lbs I said I would in these weeks!
Good thing is, I have lost about an inch around my waste so my hard work is paying. All the fat I need to lose is around my waste.
Yay Transformation! Go Go Gooooo!!!
And yeah, I feel ya on the plateau thing. I've been there, long ago.. BUT I'm learning a lot and figuring everything out, soo... Keeping my fingers crossed, for both of us! I think the personal trainer will really help ya. I can't afford one (haha maybe if I sold all that stuff I don't use!!)

lorenzina- Are you aware that the American Biggest Loser episodes can be watched on the internet at NBC.com? Or are they somehow not available in Australia?
Glad you are in the zone. Keep up the great work! ![]()

Awwww You're welcome!!! I have to stay motivated too girl! I am an emotional overeater. It's a really hard thing to overcome. This competition and especially the people in this team keep me on track! So thank YOU ALL!!
OMG my dog just farted right next to me!
Anyway, so I was able to stay under my calorie limit yesterday again. Woo hoo! I really really want to have more than just a 1 lb loss next week. Not saying 1 lb is bad, but when I have 31 to get to my first goal and 64 to get to my second goal, 1lb a week isn't gonna cut it! LOL.
Good job Lorenzina! I'm looking forward to seeing how all of you do at the weigh ins this week! I really think we're gonna kick some butt!!!!!!!!!
I took off work today. I'm gonna go do some step-aerobics and then see if my boyfriend will show me how to use that Bowflex again, lol.
