In tears......HELP!!!

Quote  |  Reply

Ughhh well today was wayyy out of controll..but lets start at the beginning. On Saturday I was 134lb and ran everyday last week eating 1,200 cals a day.But since sunday I've been eating 1,300-1,700(yikes!) I got on the scale various times today(My self-esteem is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E) and it fuctuated from 137-140!!! I feel so disgusted with myself especially since today I ate a whopping piece of cake and snacked constantly since I was bored. IS this accurate??? The weight I mean? I spent the whole afternoon crying and I just really need some support...

EDIT: Thanks you guys SO MUCH! When I wieghed thismorning I was just under 136. I am 5'9 and I know that 116 sounds really lowbut I signed a modeling contract in october of last year and the agecy really wants me to do runway for new york fashion week next year. They told me that my BMI needs to be around 18 or so and the average runway model my hieght is 118. Hell, Chanel Iman who is the most sucessful runway model my age (17) is 108. I really want to pursue this and I love it so much.

ps: My picture is from December when I was 130lb....I do NOT look like that now sadly :(

It may be accurate in terms of what your body is currently weighing in at... but those last few pounds are probably nothing more then water weight.

In order to gain those 6pounds in fat, you would have had to consume 17,600-20,000 calories... and I doubt that that piece of cake (and snacks) were anywhere close to that. (But it if was... that must have been damn good cake xD)

Don't be too worried, one bad day won't change that much (apart from water weight)... and even a few days can be easily reversed.

Just keep your chin up and remember tomorrow is another day <3

hahaha aww thanks and I don't think that cake could have been that much even though icing was probably about an inch of pure sugarWink

Hi, brem,

Your goal weight of 116 is underweight for your height. That would put you at a BMI of 17.1. Your current weight range is perfectly healthy and slender.

You're burning about 2200 calories per day, and your body would burn about 1450 calories if you were in a coma.  So, 1300 to 1700 is a fine range for you to lose -- and you should really stay at or above 1450 to be healthy.  1200 is only enough calories for a sedentary very short woman, and you're not short or sedentary.

If you want your body to look better, you could add some weights to your cardio and really get super-toned.  I hear that you're upset, and you're talking about low self-esteem.  The big thing to work on is your self-esteem.

You're already at a great weight. Starving yourself won't make you feel better about yourself, and will make you sick.

Update: and, you'll be more likely to overeat if you restrict your calories too much. Your body craves fuel to live, and if you don't feed it, you'll wind up eating things you don't want to when you don't want to eat.

ive been thereeee! it suckssss! ill weigh myself in the morning then eat a sandwhich and i gain 5lbs... try weighing urself tomorrow. im sure it wont say those numbers

Oh geez...seriously? 1,300-1,700 is bad?! Most women maintain on MORE than that. Since you run every day I'm sure its not a big deal. Our weight fluctuates based on water/pms/sodium/time of day/clothing so as long as you fit in your clothes I wouldn't worry.

But I can't be a hypocrite cause I know I get really pissed if the scale goes to the 140 zone...or even 138-9 cause I'm your weight and it bothers me to think about being in the high 130s too :/

Don't fret about it. You need a cheat day/meal. I do it once a week. You look great. Just keep on track. 1,200 calories is not really enough unless you are trying to loose. How tall are you? In your picture you look beautiful.
