Teen Forum: 19 years old and under
Thats great to hear! To tell you the truth I have had a bit of a rough morning and lunch was not so great for me... I binged a bit and feel sort of depressed.
I was about to go there this year as a freshman too but instead im going into the air force :)
Hi all, I'm new here! Got something like 18 pounds to lose and no friends yet! So thought I would leave a message as its always good to have like minded people to help you out when losing weight and everyone seems friendly so far.
It's so good that lots of you seem to be having good days! I hope I can have one tomorrow on my first proper day of this new diet :) x

I know this may sound repetitive and what not but you should be eating way more than that! Your body needs at least 1200 calories to just function! Be careful, your body could go into starvation mode, not to mention completely be screwed up medically just eating only 1000 cals or less.
Hey, febreeze_09: You're definitely not the only one who does this. It's my TOM right now, and I've been binging like crazy (seriously -- about 300+ calories over each day). So first, when you do give in to the temptation, never feel depressed -- it will only exacerbate things. If you're going to eat something not-so-healthy, enjoy that single serving for all its worth, take your time with it, and move on to something healthier afterwards.
Usually, I'm pretty good about not binging though. Here are some things I've done to some success:
-Dip the tip or pad of each finger on one hand into mustard or some other super spicy thing and slowly lick each finger. Really what matters is the methodical and minimal intake of very spicy food. You can do the same thing, but with super bitter food, like eating a little raw chard (gah!) or unripe grapefruit.
-Doll yourself up as a method of distraction -- give yourself a facial (you can't move your face to take a bite), try on different outfits, take a relaxing bath, try out makeup, etc.
-Go for a walk.
-Close your eyes and imagine yourself resisting your food cravings (seriously, this works. Imagining yourself going through the various steps for preparing for a test also can help you study!).
-Stretch -- it's relaxing, and it elongates your muscles.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Cetairla!
I'm definitely gonna try those
Dyyla, You definitely aren't alone. I always want to eat more. I can eat all day and not feel satisfied. it's weird. I usually just eat mini healthy meals throughout the day and low-cal snacks in between to trick my mind into thinking that i'm eating more. Chocolate and ice cream are my two biggest weaknesses, but I found that Special K chocolate cereal is a good treat, and it helps me to not keep any chocolate or ice cream in the house. (i'm too lazy to get up and drive to the store to get it!)
Glad to see some of you had great days, congrats!
And for those with the bad...tomorrow will be better!!!
