Has any Teen Succesfully Lose Weight?

And not 5 pounds. but at least 15-20 and kept it off? It seems a lot of people need advice but is there anyone to give it?

yeah. but not too quickly.. in my opinion.. i mean every1 is different. but if i ate 1500cals.. i feel like i would gain weight.. not lose it. did u take the calorie target quiz?. i found that its kinda helpful. but for me to maintain my weight they say i need around 1600.. so if i went down to 1500.. i would just lose like an ounce a month... it all depends on how much you weigh.. as you lose weight u need to lower your calorie intake.. feel free to message me if u wanna talk or have questions about my plan..

 

No teen can maintain on 1600. This was probably the amount they told you to eat to lose weight. Teen's usually maintain on AT LEAST 2000 because we're still growing and need to eat a lot. Teens should NEVER go below 1500, this is the lowest a teen should ever go.

Subtract 500 from the amount for your activity level, and eat that amount. This will help you lose weight healthily.

And maddy1211, losing 20-26 pounds in just six weeks is really unhealthy. The most anyone should lose is about 2 pounds a week, any more than that and you're probably losing muscle.

And valshadyy, eating 1600 calories is a good thing. If you exercise you may wanna eat more though, but it depends on your stats.  I usually eat in the 1700-1900 range.

Hi, I just joined this site so I just saw this in here but I have had sucess in losing weight. I started my weight loss journey last Dec. 11,2008 and so far I have lost 156lbs on my own by eating right and working out 5-6 days a week. I started out at 1500 calories a day and now eat 1200. I feel SO much better and so far it is going great. I have 23lbs left to my goal of 130 but these last pound are taking the longest for sure. My start weight was 309lbs and now is 153lbs. I can be done you just have to try and do it 100% and really want it bad enough. And for me the key was working out AND dieting for so long I tried to do one or the other and it totally didn't work, obviously. Anyways hope this helps and if you want anymore info just ask. Like I said I just joined this site and its really neat and has some awesome stuff on it. By the way i was 17 when I started and now 18.

Do you lose weight on this amount? Becaus eI've pushed my calorie up to 1500 and once I overate by 150-200 calories but besides that I was at 1500 or  alittle under and I didn't exercise for one day becaus eI was cramming for exams yet I gianed .5 pound. How can you lose on 1800 but I cna't at barely 1500? Do you eat really healthy foods because these days I havent been eating particularly healthy.

Alright. I'm 5'8 and my maintaining weight calorie goal is 2,716 cals. I eat about 1,500 calories a day and have lost 16 lbs in 2 months. Exercise is a big part of this and also what you eat. I'm a vegetarian so its not fat that i eat. I eat a lot of nuts, tuna, egg whites and vegetables. I exercise every day for about 2 hours. I play club soccer and in the winter, basketball. I would reccomend to eat no less than 1500 cals a day to any teen who wants to be successful in weight loss. Feel free to ask me any q's... happy 2 help. good luck!

Yeah, last summer(2009) I lose 30 pounds and have been keeping it off. I now weigh 133 pounds at 5'6".

 It's easy to lose weight when you have time to exercise for 2 hours! I struggle with 1 hour!
