Teenage meet-n-greet

Quote  |  Reply

Haha.

First the title was "Any teenagers that want a friend?"

That kinda sounds like I'm a pedofile or something.

I think it would just be cool to have a group of teens that can help each other out  and provide support.

My name's Amelia .I'm a 16-year-old girl,  from eat-coast Canada.

French is my second language

I've been dancing since I was 4

I started playing Hockey last year with my school.

But no matter how active, i've always been overweight, and just this year fell into the "obese" category.  So that's gotta change. I've got 60lbs to lose before I go to Portugal this summer(yay).

So introduce yourself, and share a few of your interests.

Also, I didn't even check page 2 for a teen thread on the go (should have), so feel free to delete it this is already  around.

Hey! I'm Melissa and I'm 14 1/2! I'm also from Canada, except I'm from Alberta.

I'm 99.9% Irish except for the stupid fact that I was born in Lethbridge. That makes me mad EVERY TIME! I'm the first non Irish born person in my family ever.

I don't play any sports except volleyball occasionally.

I've always been a bit chubby and I definitely want to change that! I want to be 115-120 by the time I go to Italy on March 19th. I'm currently 142 pounds.

I seem to be slightly boy crazy these days.... lol especially for my 22 year old supervisor....

Well, that's me!:D

hi i'm alaina (:

i'm 16, from the us, and i also speak french.

i've struggled with disordered eating and am just trying to be healthy right now. i'm really a health nut and my ultimate goal is to get rid of  the binging/fasting habit i have.

i want to be an artist, or a pianist, and i do ballet for exercise.

Hello. My name is Samantha.

I'm 16 years old -I'll be 17 in two and a half months :)

I was always pretty average, never the skinny fit one but I wasn't "fat." I was always self-conscious when around my friends who seemed to be so perfect. I was built with just a little bit more meat on my bones.

I've been struggling with depression since the summer of 2005 and it caused me to gain a lot of weight. I'm an emotional eater and in early 2005 I was 117 pounds but then in January of 2006 I was about 140-145, maybe more, maybe less-not sure.

I live in Texas.

I only speak english ... Undecided but one day I'd like to speak italian and maybe later on serbian, but I think I should really expand my english voacbulary before I venture off into learning other languages.

I USED to play volleyball in the 7th and 8th grade.

The 6th grade was probably when I was most happy with myself and my body.

I'm newly a vegetarian and I absolutely love animals.

oh yeah, i'm a vegetarian and from texas too. (:
ewwxroflzz: cool!!Smile

My name is Nicole

I'm from US, and i speak French too! what a coincidence!

I do ballet & pilates and go to the gym when i have time(which isn't often enough).

Currently i am 16years old, but as of december 31, i will be 17.

I was always a skinny kid(people called me chicken legs), so i never watched what i ate. But about a year a go my metabolism caught up with me and i gained 20lbs. I've lost about 10 of those pounds, but still all i see in the mirror is fat. I'm trying to get smaller and be healthy about it. wish me luckLaughing

haha, my middle name is nicole.  (: i didn't know so many kids my age spoke french!

yeah all i remember before i started watching what i ate was that i was watching a ballet video when i was the cat in peter and the wolf and thinking, god my legs were so skinny. and i really wanted to get back to that weight which i don't even remember what i was because i didn't ever weigh myself then. and like all the weight i had gained was muscle weight (some fat too probably) but i got obsessed and i dropped like 18 pounds :/ i'm pretty much over it. but i haven't gained any back and don't plan to.

Hi I'm Alex and I just turned 18. I dunno if that still makes me a teen but I'd like to be in the group. There's too many old people on this thing!

ELLO Y'ALL :) my names yona .I'm 17 on saturday :D!  from Scotland UK, but i recently moved to england (we have crap food, i want to move to the US ;))

I can Speak French and German.
I dance, sing, swim and do trampolining,
I have an unhealthy addiction to CEREAL! hahahaha.

Im pretty active but this past year ive been seriously struggling with anorexia, 3 months ago i hit my lowest point of 70lbs, im now alot better and have managed to stop binging, starving and worrying so much and im just trying to get fit and healthy :)!

woah, i want to go the uk (: alot of people here speak french apparently haha

how is the food there different from here?

all the cereals taste like horse food.
the peanut butter tastes like oil and the sweeties and stuff are just rubbish, i mean seriously, who wants to eat a deep fried mars bar? not me ;) hahahaha xx

Hey! I'm Laura, 17 and I live in Belgium. I speak french too.

I'm a fairly active person, i play basketball, but im definitely not happy with how I look.  Do you guys have any tips for not over-eating in the junk food department? There's a lot of belgian chocolate, pastries, croissants and such here... Any tips or encouragement would be apreciated.

haha, maybe we should start typing in french since we all seem to speak it.

lmao. then yeah.. i'd say our food is better (; however in dallas where i live at the annual state fair of texas the food is RIDICULOUS--deep fried everything. i mean deep fried oreos, deep fried twinkies, deep fried lattes (still not sure what those are) not to mention barbecue turkey legs and corn dogs lol. i brought grapes to eat that day.

hahah laura, je consens (:  as far as overeating goes the only thing i've found that works is completely refraining from eating it ): i go for natural sweet things instead like apples and other fruit. actually i can't remember the last time i had cake or anything like that..

Hi

Can I join? I'm Hannah and i'm 17 but I don't speak french :(

I used to be anorexic too but after I recovered I couldn't stop eating and I'd keep bingeing...gross I know. Anyway so now although technically I'm not overweight I am a little chubby! So I'm looking to lose about 15 pounds.

Oh and I swim, play waterpolo, run and go to the gym so I guess I'm kinda active... our team is coming to California in January for waterpolo... yay!! woop woop lol i live in nz by the way anyway so i'd feel kinda uncomfortable in togs right now!

xx

yyonah: omg! why would you want to move to north america when you live in England?! I LALALALOVE the uk and Ireland! I've spent more time in Ireland, but if the food there is the same as in England, I would trade you any day of the week!!!!! My favorite foods from there are Irish brown bread (:D), cafe noir cookies aaaand those coconut marshmallow cookies... can't remember their names... O and the smoke salmon there.... so good.

And now you can see why I'm chubby..... lol

Hey everyone! It might be a little late, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyways.

I'm Hannah and I'm 15. I don't speak French, but I am learning Spanish : )

I live in Kansas. I was always chubby when I was younger, and my freshmen year of high school I became obsessed with my weight and became anorexic. I'm recovered now, but latley I've been bingeing quite a bit : ( I think it's because I've deprived myself so long.

Anyways, I enjoy playing softball, basketball and volleyball. I don't play competitvly though, just rec. I like running and go to the gym. I'm a total bookworm and love reading, but I haven't had a lot of time to latley...

Well, I think that's it!

I'm a latecomer, too! My name's Heather, and I'm from Western Canada. I'm 18, and just started my first year of University. I'm studying theatre, my greatest love, with two electives: French, and Philosophy.

As a kid, I was always very skinny, but I was in bad shape. I was the last one to get picked for all the teams at recess, and I was the slowest runner in the class. In grade 5, I tried Volleyball and Track, but I just couldn't do them. In grade 11, I saw a show about heart disease, and I decided to change my ways. I took up running and pilates, and after about a year, I also started watching what I ate. By the spring of grade 12, I was down to about 105lbs (on a 5'5 frame), and pretty happy with myself, even though I was getting negative feedback from friends and family thinking I was too thin. When I started University in the fall, my diet and excercise went down the tubes. I started eating crappy food while studying, and skipping excercise because I was busy or tired. I joined this site a couple days ago to try to get on track before I start gaining weight.

I've never had an eating disorder, but I've struggled with body image obsessions. I admit to getting a kind of high when people tell me I'm too thin, and to constantly comparing myself to others, judging my value based on my weight. Those behaviours kind of come and go for me; I have periods where I'm great, and periods where I'm miserable. I do have problems with emotional/mental health, so that's probably where those attitudes come from.

Anyways, enough of the depressing crap! I'm an actress, an indie-music buff, a poet, communist, idealist. I'm chronically unemployed, single, and struggling to pull myself together. I speak French, too, and I'm a classically trained singer. I'm part Irish, English, Scottish, Swiss-German, and Norwegian, but I get my looks from that little sliver of Norway. I was a h-core plain jane nerd all through grades 1-12, and I'm coming to terms with the fact I may actually be cool and kind of attractive. It's a hard adjustment, though. I'm still really introverted. What else can I say?

Hey guys!

My name is Christina. I am 19 years old and I attend Samford University in Birmingham, AL!!

I am majoring in business and hope to go to law school.

I love tennis, music and going to concerts, shopping, hanging out with friends, movies, maragheritas! just about the average college kid I guess.

I wanna lose 10-15 lbs. since being here I have gained a little weight, but a new gym just opened with awesome equipment and I have been there at least 5 days a week ever since!

looking to meet some cool people. :)

Hey yall I'm Sarah and I'm 15. I live in NC but I was born in Nova Scotia.

I Irish dance, play lacrosse, and field. I also play piano and sing in chorale. As you can tell I'm super busy especially since I go to a prep school!

I've always been atleast 10 pounds overweight, but never more than that. I really want to go to the Naval Academy and at the current shape I'm in I'll never make it. So I knew something needed to change and in the past month I've lost almost 10 pounds and now I'm only 10 away from my goal!!

Uhh... I'm Cindy, 16, and uncomfortable giving out my location due to my paranoia of the Internet.

Unfortunately, I only speak English, though I'm taking Latin (can't speak it very well), took Hebrew for 4ish years (forgot most of it now), and know a few phrases in French.

My sport is martial arts, though I also love sprinting/track.

I've always been very skinny with a very fast metabolism (one of my few genetic advantages), but I wanted to get in better shape and stay a healthier person, so I joined this site. Mostly I lurk around rather than post, especially since I'm loaded with homework and school.

As for other miscellaneous stuff, right now I'm heavy into college/major searching and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Uh....that's me?
