Any teenage musicians?

Hiya young calorie counters,

I'm wondering if any of you happen to play an instrument. I've been playing guitar since 2005 and piano since last year, but I'm nothing special. Anyone else out there share their passion for music through playing something? Anyone in band at school? Anyone play in their own band with friends? W00T. Share the music love! :)

when i was younger i really wanted to play the piano, unfortunately the music lessons &owning a piano itself was really expensive.

idk im thinking of getting into the violin. sounds so beautiful

I am studying music peformance in college...my instrument: voice. I am a mezzo-soprano (I am classically trained but love musical theater too)...I have also been playing piano since I was 7 or 8 so about 11 years. I love music!

i've played piano for 13 yrs and taught for 3. i also occasionally play accompanying jobs for orchestra students.

yes! i've been playing my violin for 8 years and love it so much

I played guitar for 2 years but sorta ditched it because i love my violin so much

 

I've played the violin for almost 13 years, now.  I'm in the symphony orchestra at my university, but I muuuuch prefer being a soloist.  Oh well.  :)

Hi there, don't mean to intrude but I was excited to read this post.  Wow great to read about young musicians.  I am band director of almost 10 years and currently gen music teacher and band director. 

My main instrument is French horn (started in 4th grade, playing for about 27 years now)

I went to a college in Chicago that taught me 17 different instruments.  Wow, some take alot of calories.  Tuba takes soooo much air and really very fun to play.  I really enjoy trombone and my favorite woodwind is flute. 

I am currently teaching myself guitar, ironicly of all the instruments we learned in college, guitar was not one.

If anyone has any music related questions I will be more than happy to help.

i play clarinet, bass clarinet, and violin. :)

I learnt to play the piano until last year, then I got all pretentious, like "lessons are squashing my creative juices" and gave it up.  Really regret it now.

 And I'm teaching myself guitar.  Mainly just tunes I like, and those that are pretty simple, so I can play a LOT of Oasis numbers! 

8 years of piano, 9 years violin, 2 years of drums

Piano, flute, xylophone and a bit of guitar and harmonica. :)

I'm going to sound like a geek, but I've been playing seriously since I was 3yrs old - 16 years now! I started with violin and piano, branched to voice, clarinet and guitar also, and am now doing a BMus in viola. It's a great industry :D

I'm a classically trained singer, but I rarely sing anymore. I tried to get into a Musical Theatre program for post-secondary education, but was not accepted. Since moving to University (where I study straight theatre), I've basically stopped singing, for several reasons. I'm looking to get back at it in the summer, though, and possibly take up guitar.

I've dated an entire band.......does that count?

I always joke around and say I play the vocal chords :P!

I guess you could say that I was classically trained, but jazz is so incredibly my passion! You would definitely find me singing it WAY more than classical stuff . . . although I do whip out an operatic song every now and then LOL

I played the violin for 8years before I took a break from it (about 2 years). Now I'm trying to get back in my usual practice routine.
