Any teenagers that are 16 and under?
I was just wondering about exactly how many teenagers there are on this site who are under 16 years of age. What has your experience been like with food and why do you use CC?

Im 16 years old. i came across CC while looking on the internet about binge eating. i tend to binge every once in a while, and my last binge was so bad i figured i should see what i can find online! but other than that, theres not much to say. im not trying to lose/gain weight. im 5'3 and about 105lbs.
I'm 13 years old, I found calorie count when I was looking up the calorie info on chicken. lol. Basically I was thin my whole life because I was super active (I danced competitively and was practicing around 25+ hours a week), and I had the world's worst eating habits (seriously I weighed 84 lbs, was 4'10" and would eat like 4 bagels smothered in cream cheese in one sitting, and I had a starbucks vanilla bean frap. and one of their huuge sugar cookies every single day and I never gained a pound. lol) Thenn, I quit dance and didn't change my eating habits and man oh man found myself at 111. So I decided to eat healthier and add a little bit of excercise. I was quite successful with my weight loss and am now back at 82 lbs, 2 lbs lighter then I was in my dancing days, and mainly use calorie count for new healthy recipes, support, help with maintaining, and sort of as a source of entertainment (some of the threads and journal entries are quite compelling!)
I'm 15 and found this site when I was looking up if mini wheats are good for you! At first this site was really good for me because I used to eat a lot of bad foods (several times a week I ate oreos for breakfast!). Suprisingly I was only at 130 (i'm 5'2"). Now I'm down to 122. Although I think I am becoming too obsessive about calories and limiting my intake to an unhealthy amount. As soon as I'm down to 115 I'm way upping my intake and using this site to make sure I'm getting enough, especially since I'm an athlete.
I am 15, 5'7 and 142. I found this site when i was looking for amount of calories that swimmers are supposed to take in..
im not here for loosing weight as much as maintaining it but my goal is still to get off 5 pounds in the next 3 months or so... since i excersise a lot (2-4 hours a day), and i am very competitive in my sport, i cant cut my calories down too low so im looking for ways to slowly ease off those pounds. :D
I'm 15 years old now. I used to live off pasta until my class watched a video in PE that was saying that pasta makes you fat. So a class that was supposed to encourage good health (mental and physical) led me to begin calorie counting and develop somewhat an obsession with healthy eating.
As I was googling the calorie content in something I stumbled across this website, and never left :)
I'm 16, and surprisingly haven't had an ED. I joined this website after taking a health class before high school and seeing how horrible eating habits are in a typical American. Fortunately, I can get away with eating tons of junk without gaining any weight, but I wanted to get some healthier eating habits, particularly before college. I mostly just use CC to lurk around the forums, read about new food ideas, and get recipes. Until this summer I was also in training for my black belt, and I still lurk around to get ideas for workouts and the like.
As for my experience with food, I've actually gained a few pounds since joining this site despite eating healthier, but I figured that's all part of getting older and increasing my muscle mass. I don't count calories, but I like having an idea of what I'm eating.
I actually don't remember how I came across this specific website, but I think I was randomly googling something.
I'm 16. I grew up pretty thin and have always eaten whatever crap I wanted. I was pretty much binge-eating alot of the time and I didn't even know it. 20lbs later(when my metabolism caught up), I decided to watch what I ate and lose my extra flab. I have lost 10lbs so far and feel healthier already. I've even joined a gym now. Hopefully I can lose the other 10lbs easily.
i'm 16. i joined originally so i could count my calories easier. i was on an anorexic-type restrictive diet, like 500 calories a day, not to mention how many i burn in ballet. after reading stuff on here about being healthy i decided to actually make an effort to have normal eating habits. i'm 5'9 1/2 and 106 pounds, averaging about 1400 a day.
Im 15 years old..5'6-5'7ish and 113. I was always like seriously SOOO skinny when i was younger and the pickiest eater in the world. Everyone thought i was anorexic but i really was not.then when i hit puberty andall i developed into my body and got a more womanly shape that i SHOULD have been proud of,however that is exactly the contrary. i hated it. so i developed obsessions with food and changed my eating habits like everyday. one week id eat low carb, the next week id eat whatever i wanted, the next week id eat 5 small mini meals, the next week i focused on eating more fruits ETC ETC. then i just developed anorexia and starved for about 9 months. now i am on this website because i am alot healthier but want to lose weight/maintain the healthy way. i also devloped a passion for cooking and baking, mostly baking, and i love finding new food ideas and stuff even tho i barely like food i just like to make it. so thats my story.
Here's a site with a lot of interesting information for teens that are thinking of health/ weight loss.
BTW, none of you need to lose any weight.
I'm 16, and found this site via traineo. My overall diet history is on my profile, but the cliffnotes version is I have gone from 177lbs to 140lbs, very slowly and patiently over around 4 years, growing 4 inches in that time too. I had EDNOS about a year ago, but am pleased to report I am fully recovered =]
Food experiences - I'm a vegetarian, who doesn't eat a million different things (mushrooms, yeast, milk, quorn etc) due to severe IBS. I have an underactive thyroid, too, which sucks.
I'm using CC because at the moment, due to my rubbish thyroid, my weight is batoning between 140-150, which is healthy (I'm 5'8) but I know that the second I go to uni, I will gain ~20lbs, and that will end up being 160-170, not so healthy. So I want to lose 20lbs now, so that when uni rolls around, if I gain 20lbs, I will be the same weight I am now, which is not ideal, but bearable.
im 13 years old, trying to recover from mild anorexia/bullimia, and i came across this site while looking up the calorie contents in a banana. :P
I first came on CC to keep my cals on the track of a very, very unhealthy diet in order to lose weight--and now, I use CC to make sure I'm eating enough 'cause I'm trying to gain :)
tennis_aleena - I love you picture! ;) That was pretty much the BEST movie ever.
I'm sixteen and I joined CC a while ago, but only started to use it to get some support and maybe make it easier to go through with recovery. I used to be fine with food, but then developed an ED...ugh but now I am on the road to recovery and trying my best ^^
Im 16 too :) I came across CC when I was looking for the calorie contents for different ways you cook an egg haha.
In recovery for anorexia nervosa..
5''4 88lbs.
I'm 15, 5", 8 stone 8. I came across thie site looking up the calories in god knows what. I've had mild Bulimia since i was around 11/12, but it's an obsession with control, and a coping mechanism, as opposed to an obssesion with my weight. I eat healthily now, (except for a few exceptions

) and am slowly losing weight. The best thing is that instead opf craving cake, I've recently been craving saled! Can't say no to that! :D
I'm 13yrs old, and I found this site while looking up a calorie count table chart :)
I weigh about 155lbs.
I'm 14 and i found CC cuz i always looked up calories in foods and always came here so then i just joined!
I have come across the site about watching your weight, i weigh around 8st and at a height of 5'5, i never seem to lose any weight even when it comes down to hardly eating a thing( eg, cutting down meals and no snacking). does anyone have any tips?
