2650 to maintain

2250 to lose...or i just work out extra to make up for it ;-)

[edit]  ...I guess I'm a smidgeon taller than 5' 6"... 6' 4" [/edit]

I'm 5'5 and 29 I've been eating 1350 most days :) I've been doing this for about a month. I started with alot of excersise 3-5 miles a day and some weights and at home pilates and balance ball stuff. Then I sprained my ankel and haven't been running at all. I've lost 11 pounds.

It all depends on how much your start weight is your activity level etc.. Did you try the burn meter on this website.

Anyway my point is it's different for everyone, 1350 may not be enough for you especially if you are starting at a higher weight or higher activity level.

Well I hope that was a help. I know it can be confusing.

Yeah well I was losing on around 1400-1700. Then I wasnt calorie counting and I think I did some damage I think only about 900-1200 and then I upped it straight to 1800-2200.

I started at 140. Got to 122.6 then upped my calories now fluctuating around 126.

Everyone says teens need more though, so that is where it gets very confusing I dont want to mess my body up thats why. I think so I will do a thing where I eat only like EXACTLY 1800, and do my exercise I do for a week. I will weigh in like tomorrow and it will be the start and see if I lose or gain. Then decide to go 100 lower or upper or stay the same. I was just wondering like what everyone else does though :]

Really depends on the weight that you are trying to maintain.

I am around 120 at 5'5 (24 years old) and it takes me about 1500 calories to maintain. I don't exercise tho.. so that would probably up it a bit if I did.

I attempt to eat 1,440 however I usually end up eating around 1,660. (That's to lose.)

Obviously I haven't gotten to maintain yet. xD Aha.

I don't think I am messing up my body though, I have lost 6 pounds so far. I hope this is working. o.O

I'm 5'5", 124, at a good BMI and eat about 1500 calories a day. I have a medium athletic build. I am very active and go to the gym Monday through Friday, 35 minutes of vigorous cardio (elliptical) 25 calisthenics (stretching, yoga, squats, push ups etc) and 15 minutes every other day of weights. On weekends I don't go to the gym but am very active and bike ride or hike on both days.

At my heaviest I weighted 156 and was busting out of my clothing. I have anxiety issues so I find the exercise in the morning before work is a great way to prepare myself for my day. It took about 1 year and 4 months to lose the 32 pounds to where I'm at now, and I currently work to maintain. Now I have to make sure I get a lot of vitamins, remember to eat fruit and vegetables and plenty of protein. I'm 34 years old.

I'm a teeny bit under 5'5'' (less than half an inch), and currently at 132, seeking 125. I'm down from 150+ in January. I've been aiming for 1200cal during the week 1500cal over the weekend. (I burn 1700 naturally) When I work out, i'll up the 1200 to 1300, and take the rest as defecit calories :)

I don't know what I'd need to maintain - When I eat my "natural burn" with no exercise, I gain, so I'd say about 1500 is right for maintenance. I'm not very muscular, (which I'm working on) so my metabolism is pretty slow right now.

*EDIT: Oh, and I'm 20 years old :)*

5'6", age 37, female, currently at about 150.  CC puts my daily burn at about 1950.  So on days I exercise, I get up to about 2300 for maintenance.

When I was still in loss mode, I averaged about 1500-1600/day (1800 on exercise days).

I'm a 5'6", 118 lb., 18 year old female taking in, on average, 1800 calories to maintain.

I really dont really do any strenuous excercise. Typically jog about 1.5 miles on the treadmill, 20 min. on the elliptical followed by a couple reps of sit ups and some stretching three times a week. I do try to keep myself from being sedentary by constantly doing something like going out with my friends or cleaning up the house. In other words i pretty much make sure im not stting on my butt all day watching TV.

hope that helps!

Oh, and i was losing about a pound a week on 1400 calories along woth 2 mile jogs 5 times a week.

I am just under 5'6", 19, and i would put my weight somewhere around 126-128 pounds (I'm not sure, I last weighed myself almost 2 months ago - I was 130, and I've definitely lost since then). I really don't exercise at all, CC puts my daily burn at 1700. I lost at around 1250-1450 calories per day. Lately I've been trying to maintain at 1500, but I'm having trouble keeping it at that, usually I'll end up somewhere around 1550-1650. I don't THINK I have gained any weight from this, maybe just a little but probably not much at all. It's hard to tell because I don't have a scale (but we all know how scales can be finnicky, anyway).

I should note that I actually DID get a little bit of exercise when I was losing. That's when I was away at college, so I walked maybe an hour each day to get to and from classes and the dining hall. However when I started maintinaing I returned home from school, and I am pretty inactive, for the most part. Lately I have been trying to get some situps in when I wake up and before I go to bed. Either way I still consider my daily burn to be 1700 just to be safe - I'm sure I don't burn much at all with the situps, anyway.
