Teens: what did YOU eat today?

I'm kind of copying the oh so popular topic found in the food forum. This is different, though: for teens! I think it's pretty interesting to see what we teenagers eat, and this will kind of give the chance for teens to see what other healthy foods they can add to their diet.. I sure know that my diet needs improvement XD

Oh, and the same rules as the one in the other forum applies.. especially do not post if you are not eating enough. Nobody wants to see it, and you're only hurting yourself in the long run; believe me, I found out the hard way.

I'll start!
breakfast: cheerios, a yogurt, & and orange
lunch: a turkey sandwich (i love low carb bread! really.) an apple, another yogurt, &wheat thins
after school: a peanut butter sandwhich on whole grain & an orange
dinner: probably light soup & a salad or something!

don't be shy XD

uhh.. whats wrong with processed foods, zebulancherry? some people dont have enough money to spend on the less processed foods. JUST because a food is processed does NOT make it unhealthy. i'm sorry, but your "holier than thou" attitude with food is annoying. back off, there is more than one way to eat healthy, you know.

yyonah!!! nice to see you back! =D where's the hot chocolate? :O! i reckon i haven't seen you post a day without it!

zebulancherry, when you say processed foods what do you mean? Do you mean things like non-homemade bread and pasta, protein bars?

&what about cheese. cheese is processed so that automatically makes it the DEVIL.

yeah right.

maybe i should stop eating canned pumkin too?ooo, &boca is off limits, maybe i should just start eating the soybeans straight up instead.. oh, there goes bread too...

im sorry, but your comment just really hit a nerve.

Breakfast: Didn't get a chance to eat it! Too busy!

Lunch: wrap (100 calorie wrap! with luncheon meat), some chips, and wasa crackers.

Dinner: chicken and vegetables! I'm going to a dance tonight and they are serving all of these types of food! But i'm sticking to my diet!

After dance snack: cashew nuts!

You'd better shut up peacelovehominy, or I wouldn't expect me to keep returning all your nutritional questions that you PM me. Heheh. I'm not trying to be "holier" than anyone, although in your case, I wouldn't care anyway.

And obviously eating something you make yourself is way better than downing sugar-free hot chocolate and isolated soy protein products. And heck, to me, cheese is the devil. It's not only heavily processed and fatty; you should see what the dairy cows and baby female cows (killed for the rennet and enzymes in their stomachs and intestines) have to go through. Go watch Earthlings on Google Video or something, and you might change your mind. If you want to eat substance made of cow intestines and pus, be my guest.

Every time you post veganism stuff I think back to the way you were super pro-meat before you were converted and can't take you seriously :)

Then, by-golly, don't. I've been vegetarian since February; you've been a member since April 1st. xD Nice try chick. I can't recall saying anything to you though; if you were smart you'd learn to stay out of it. Although, I from what I've seen thus far, I can't imagine that happening.

This post was made to discuss WHAT WE ATE TODAY. Let's leave it that way.
peacelove, I'm sorry but since you mentioned "annoying", I thought I might as well say this here.

I've read many of your posts, and you seem to like giving people advice, even when it's not asked for. A lot of the advice you give is nonsense (to me, at least), and although I often think that, I never comment on it. If I were to take advice from anyone (which I hardly ever do, unless I ask for it), I would sooner take it from someone like zebulancherry. And I am basing this solely on what I have read on this forum.

Anyways, I thought, since the topic allows...

B: whole wheat bagel, fage, and strawberries

L: kashi crackers, celery, and yellow bell pepper with laughing cow cheese, yogurt with almonds

S: cherry pomegranate cliff nectar bar, yogurt

D: spinach salad w/ veggie burger, ltf wrap

Dessert: stonyfield farm after dark chocolate frozen yogurt.

Breafast: 2 slices ww toast with Peanut Butter
       &nb sp;       Apple
       &nb sp;       Hard boiled Egg

Lunch:
 Wendys Ultamite Chicken Grill Sandwhich
       &nb sp;     Skim Milk
       &nb sp;     Banana

Snack:
  Skim milk
       &nb sp;     Protein Bar

Dinner: Schtlozkys Deli chipolte chicken sandwhich (YUM)
       &nb sp;     Skim Milk

Snack:
Apple
       &nb sp;     Luna bar
       &nb sp;     Almonds

Come on, kids, everyone is annoying at some times, so there's no need to suddenly get on each others' case.  Heck, I find myself ridiculously annoying at times.  It's all good...

Anyway, I ran 9.5 miles today so I'm trying to eat a lot... so far, my plan is up to 1880 calories.  And I'm already so full, ahh!  Today has lots of "treats," to up the calories without feeling so full...

Breakfast:  Oatmeal with butterscotch chips and a chopped apple, dry weetabix biscuit, 1/4 cup fiber one, more butterscotch chips...

After the run:  Crunchy Peanut Butter Clif Bar

Snack (just now):  12 oz Soy Mocha, 1/2 cup fiber one, handful of chocolate-covered espresso beans, 0.35 lb chopped pineapple

Snack (sometime before dinner?  Ahh, it's 6pm already!):  PB and sliced apple

Dinner:  Amy's Shepard's Pie (this is a big treat for me, yessss!), french bread roll

After dinner snack:  Corn Pops, apple

its just that not everything that is processed is bad for you. i guess i just dont see what the heck is wrong with cheese &all that stuff. it has calcium, protein. isn't tofu processed? thats good for you. i remember one of the first posts that i read on this site, zebulancherry, (http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/660 82.html) you were telling a recovering anorexic to put down a chocolate bar. like, really, one bar is going to kill her? she hadnt even had 1,100 calories &you made her feel bad for eating. wouldn't it have been better to eat SOMETHING instead of nothing? dont get so offended, you had just struck a nerve saying that we basically dont eat healthy because our food is processed. to think any food is devil just goes to show you may have orthorexia. is it a possiblity?  i just dont like people telling me that my eating is unhealthy. like i said, we dont have to eat like you to eat healthily. it really pokes a whole in my heart when someone says that im not doing so-so well enough. =(

&moscovite, you can speak up, it's not like im going to get mad or anything.

again, you are only getting offended because you can't see my body language/expressions.

I'm not offended. You're just annoying. x)

Dinner - Homemade potato bun (yummo), chickpea cutlet - on the grill (Veganomican, xD), a little bit of organic ketchup, grilled corn on the cob, and steamed broccoli and green beans.

Snack - Maybe a slice of leftover wheat bread that I baked last night... toasted with a little bit of homemade strawberry jam and fresh ground peanut butter. Mmmm...

zebulancherry, if you can't post without trying to offend someone, then don't post at all because you're annoying the hell out of everyone else (:

peacelove, haha, yeah, it's my thing. i have to have citrus fruit for breakfast. and i'm a caffeine addict. used to drink 10 cups of coffee a day.

I've done quite well today :)

Breakfast: Shreddies, black tea (no sugar)

Thats it!! But for dinner i'm having roast chicken, sweet corn, peas and 3 potatoes :) Well done everyone!

On the contrary.. you've done quite poorly.

I was rushing around all day yesterday and playing with my new kitten friend until I came home and crashed with an awful headache :(

Breakfast: Dried fruit and nut trail mix and a whole bunch of grapes
Snack: An apple with almond butter
Lunch: A salad loaded with chick peas, bell peppers, onions + more
Snack: More grapes and fruit and nut mix.
Dinner: Subway veggie delight salad

I just woke up so today all I've had some far was a chocolate peppermint stick Luna bar! It was delicious.
On the contrary.. you've done quite poorly.

I agree. That's far too little for ANYONE, especially a teen. I smell an ED forming here. x(

Heh. Sorry you feel that way. Too bad I'm not sorry for anything I said. I didn't purposely offend anyone; in fact, if I recall, the only thing I said was "I can't believe how many processed foods a lot of other teens on here eat". I was only being honest. It's not like I mentioned anyone in particular, although I could have listed several. If I choose to eat clean, don't put me down for that either.

Makes you look jealous. x)
