Teens: what did YOU eat today?

I'm kind of copying the oh so popular topic found in the food forum. This is different, though: for teens! I think it's pretty interesting to see what we teenagers eat, and this will kind of give the chance for teens to see what other healthy foods they can add to their diet.. I sure know that my diet needs improvement XD

Oh, and the same rules as the one in the other forum applies.. especially do not post if you are not eating enough. Nobody wants to see it, and you're only hurting yourself in the long run; believe me, I found out the hard way.

I'll start!
breakfast: cheerios, a yogurt, & and orange
lunch: a turkey sandwich (i love low carb bread! really.) an apple, another yogurt, &wheat thins
after school: a peanut butter sandwhich on whole grain & an orange
dinner: probably light soup & a salad or something!

don't be shy XD

On the contrary.. you've done quite poorly.

I agree. That's far too little for ANYONE, especially a teen. I smell an ED forming here. x(

Heh. Sorry you feel that way. Too bad I'm not sorry for anything I said. I didn't purposely offend anyone; in fact, if I recall, the only thing I said was "I can't believe how many processed foods a lot of other teens on here eat". I was only being honest. It's not like I mentioned anyone in particular, although I could have listed several. If I choose to eat clean, don't put me down for that either.

Makes you look jealous. x)

"You're just annoying. x)" not trying to offend anyone, hm? lol. okay. and it's not what you said, it's your holier-than-thou attitude about food that nobody likes. the purpose of this thread is not to show off how "clean" of an eater you are. it's to share ideas and advice and encourage each other. nobody's putting you down for eating well, we're putting you down for your snobby attitude lmao.

man it's getting ugly in here.

i agree that the least processed food is usually the healthiest choice. and it's hard sometimes to choose that food because artificial and processed foods can be really low calorie or low fat. if that was the point trying to be made i totally agree.

i think it might have just come off snobby. this place is definitely not a place to show off. for me i guess this is kinda an accountability thing. i feel like i eat better when i post on here everyday because then i have to admit to over eating or under eating or to eating junk.

with that said.

breakfast:
3/4 package instant oatmeal (maple and brown sugar) *this stuff is too sweet*
1/2 cup soy milk
gala apple
yerba mate w/ 1/4 cup soy milk

lunch:
gala apple
15 baby carrots
1/2 cup canned garbanzo beans
4 stalks steamed asparagus

snack:
1 shot espresso
small piece rock candy

dinner:
3/4 cup steamed vegetables
1/3 cup pan fried tofu
1/2 cup brown rice

snack:
kava kava tea
2-3 cups air popped pop corn
w/ bragg's liquid aminos and garlic powder

there will probably be another little snack or two in there because this is pretty low.
maybe some chips and salsa.

zebulancherry, while i do think your eating is really good, i dont think you should be putting us down. you &i both know that the foods you eat are quite expensive. EXPENSIVE. not to mention all that work you have to put in to make them. i am a biochem major &do not have the time nor income to eat the foods you eat. but yes, you do come off holier than thou. you should really consider looking up "orthorexia." your in denial of your ED.

And obviously eating something you make yourself is way better than downing sugar-free hot chocolate and isolated soy protein products.

sorry, just one more thing if you read it correctly its No-sugar-ADDED hot chocolate (&it has lot of calcium). although, im sure you make your own anyways. do you live in the kitchen? i dont. i have other things to worry about. &whats wrong with boca? i see you eating veggie patties. i'm so so sorry i dont have the time to make my own, or spend $5 on one that is  "organic"

bit of a double standard, eh?

i couldnt agree more with what jessinca wrote a few months ago, i thought you had changed your ways when you had made that thread a while back... but obviously not:

Quote  |  Reply zeubulancherry, please don't take this as a personal attack, but i am blocking you because i believe your elitist, condescending attitude and rigid viewpoint is still a disordered relationship with food, (pretty obvious, if you think ANY food is the devil..) on some level (ever hear of orthorexia?) and is hindering (at least My) recovery. just wanted to let you know in case you have any other advice that is actually helpful feel free to message it to me and i will unblock you. plus, isn't this fervent elitist/natural/unprocessed viewpoint a little hypocritical from someone who drinks ensures and eats luna/clif bars? Not saying that those aren't healthy or whatever, but i wouldn't exactly call them minimally processed.  having worked at a coldstone before, i don't know if that will be my personal choice as to how to get my "trans fats every now and then," but i am going to try not to feel guilty and beat myself up to the point of restricting if i do decide to enjoy something that isn't completely organic/natural/unprocessed every now and then.

i'll just leave it as it that. phew, okay.

could you halpe me think of quick ideas for breakfast..i usually have oatmeal every morning because im always in a hurry
i see you eating veggie patties.

Emphasis on the veggie. Not soy, hun.

Anyway, I agree; just move on and enjoy what you eat. I'm not trying to put anyone down, I'm just making a point. And actually, we have a pretty tight food budget; making our own stuff helps with cost quite a bit though.

i don't feel like arguing anymore, i vote we end this discussion (:

lunch- big salad with pinto beans, chopped bell pepper, and salsa, a red delicious apple and a gala apple
