How Are You Teens Handling Halloween?
I'm going to try to eat less calories this week and exercise extra on Saturday. Then I'll enjoy myself while trick-or-treating but I will trade all the little candies I get with my friends for 1 big candy bar in return. and I'll keep all the big candy bars and I'll eat one each night after dinner for a treat and I'll fit it into my calories. What about everyone else?
So glad Australia rejected this silly holiday (for the most part).
I was hoping to make it out to the west coast for Halloween, but my plans fell through. So I'll probably just eat some chocolate during the day, fit it into my calorie allowance, and spend the evening meditating, since it's actually a serious holiday for me. ![]()
just make sure you don't eat less than 1500 calories any of the days leading up to it to bank halloween calories.
I know that I am too old my I am still going trick or treating
ahaha. I deffiantly know I am going to have some sort of candy I will just wiggle my calories around a bit so I can fit it in. No big deal (: But like Chrissy1988 said, make sure you don't go under 1500.
I was literally just about to make a thread about this. I haven't gone for several years but some friends would like to. I'm pretty excited. I'm actually going to a halloween party, so i'm a bit worried. I think I'll wind up over indulging. But my plan is, do extra exercise this week, then on saturday don't eat anything until the party/ trick or treating at 5:00 (i'll probably sleep most of the day, so, easy to do.) then enjoy myself at the party. I won't stuff my face, but if I see a cookie I'd like, i'll eat it. and a few pieces of candy.
then I'll do like the OP said, and save one piece of candy per night. My mom's gonna help me out by hiding my candy in her bedroom, and only giving me it when I ask at night. (sneaky, huh?)
:D
i'm going to be gone at a marching band competition all day, so that means fast food and concession (sp?) stand junk... ugh. i'm probably just going to bring a sandwich and some healthy snacks from home so i can eat candy that night after i go trick or treating. :D then i'm going to keep a few pieces and give the rest away at school monday.
i ate sort of bad at the halloween party i went to last night, but i ran a 5k that morning and we played an intense game of hide and seek, so i don't feel too bad. haha.
I'm going trick or treating too, for the first time in a couple years! :D I also got invited to several Halloween parties, and I hope to attend those as well. Honestly, I've lost most of my taste for candy. I'm entirely sure why, but it just doesn't give me the same appeal it did as a kid. I'll be keeping a few of the candies that I really like, and the rest I'll just give away.
I'm going to eat normally (well, maybe healthier, but NO restricting) during the day/at work, and then go out to halloween parties at my school and just...go with the flow.
My goal=no binge, so hopefully if I don't set any ridiculous rules like "don't you TOUCH any candy" I'll be able to indulge without going crazy :D
I have gymnastics on Halloween day, hehe, so that's 4 hrs of exercise right there. I'll probably have a bigish brunch and then a little snack for lunch since gym practice runs right through lunch and then a small dinner around 6:00 pm. I'll be nice and hungry for my candy! Note to self: no dessert this week. Ooops! I just made cookies!
I'm recovering from anorexia and Halloween will be the perfect opportunity for me to confront the treats I have denied myself for so long for fear of high calorie counts and empty nutrition. This year, I want to attend parties and feel normal in indulging in the seasonal delights instead of restricting myself to diet drinks and sliced vegetables. So this Halloween, I don't plan on lowering my daily intake, but rather keep myself on my regular steady weight gain diet while allowing the holiday's sweeties to become enjoyable extras!

So am I. It is fun watching the little kiddies get all excited though.
I'm 18, and I'm going trick-or-treating this year for the first time in 5 years hahaha (: I'll probably end up giving all my candy to my parents and sister.. I'm more in it for the novelty value.
FUDGE! Can someone off condolence? Yesterday and today I ate a lot-about 2000-700 calorie over! and of course halloween weekend will be bad. I'll go back to my regular regimen on Monday but right now i feel like a fat slob. I hate seeing all these strong, thin girls and celebrities. How can the girls eat all they want and never gain weight and how can celebs never give into temptation??? I gain weight if I eat anywhere over 1400 calories!!!
crazyperson: be mindful of the 1500 calorie minimum recommended for teens. please do not post plans, suggestions, or anything that condones eating less than this amount. your posts will be deleted if they do not follow CC guidelines.
I am not encouraging others to eat this much, I am saying that I do. I am asking others if they do. and plenty of people-teens- tell me they need to eat under 1500 calories to lose weight and you are not scolding them.
well i would "scold" them if i saw the posts because it is unhealthy and against CC guidelines. there is no reason for a teen to drop their calories below 1500 because this is a perfectly acceptable/low calorie intake for sustainable weight loss.
