Teens wanting to lose 25 to 35 lbs by Christmas
I'm 13 year old. My starting weight is 160. My current weight is 158 and I would like to lose between 25 and 35 pounds by Christmas. My first goal is 135 and I'm going to decide on my final goal once I get there. I'm almost 5'5". I am a cheerleader and dance with a ballet company.
I'm looking for some friends to start a group with weigh-ins on Friday mornings. This is a chance to talk about what's going on at school, how to eat healthy with bad school food, etc.
Anyone want to join me?
i think all of yall can do it if you try. i used to be an emotional eater but not really anymore. i am from south georgia. this week has been hard cause i havent benn eating as much as i need to and i have been getting tired of working out well good luck

i'm not sure how well my weight loss has been this week... i just got back from Six Flags today, and The Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour concert (which was AMAZING), and all day i like didn't eat as much as i should. i drank a lot to keep hydrated but my friend and i never really felt hungry or had the need to eat so i'm a little worried about that..and becuase of that i'm gonna post my weight saturday morning, to give my body a chance to adjust back to normal i guess..

This week: 131
Lost: 2.8 pounds
Sorry guys I have been with my parents in the city and I left my computer here so I was not able to sign in last week. But this week has been hard not only did I have the travel foods to deal with my bird died. That was real hard on me. I did gain this week but it was not much I will do better next week.

Weight loss: 1 pound.
I weighed myself just now though so i guess i lost a little more than that if i would have weighed myself in the morning.
hey i didnt lose any this week but my mom said sometimes u dont drop in pounds but u drop in size. thats because of your muscle weight or something like that
Hey guyss!! Sorry I forgot to write this yesterday but its that time of the month and I'm all bloated and bleh so I decided to wait until next week to weigh in. Cuz if i weighed myself now I'd probably be like 3 lbs up from the bloating and water retention.... gotta love being a girl

hey guys! i just got hit by tropical storm faye. we got out of school early friday and the power was out for most of the weekend. a tree fell and almost hit my neighbors house. it did bust the car window and it scared all of us. the good and bad thing about the rain is that i dont have school tomorrow. good because i dont have to go but its bad because we have a ton if potato chips and stuff because the power went out well i have to go. bye
taykaybelle, are the streets damaged? I remember going out to texas and we actually got to see the formation of a tornado in a field (REALLY stupid idea), i was scared ****.
Hey I was wondering how many calories a day you guys eat? I usually try 1300-1500 a day and more when I'm really active.
OMG I haven't been able to do anything but log for the last two weeks. I've been totally busy with driver's ed. What's happening?

smokeysondrugs i usually eat between 1500 and 1800 calories depending on if i exercise and how hungry i am. i've read many times that teens shouldn't go below 1500 cals. We're still growing and even if your not getting taller your body is still developing and your brain keeps growing until you're 21. so i would try to eat closer to 1500 or more if i was you. but that's just my advice
ughh i have been doing so bad for the last 3 days, i have not counted calories at all. i just need some support or words of advice. How are you guys? I hope you are doing well. I just really need to get back on track before i gain any more weight.
bails_babe115 Oh I had one of those weeks. I got sick of having to count everything (which took about 1 hour) before I ate it. Try counting only certain meals at first like breakfast or lunch, that way you know how many cals left over you have for the rest of the day and you'll only have to estimate the last few meals. It helped me get back on track and break even. Dont worry!
bails_babe115 its ok to not want to count calories all the time. I have those days too lol. When it happens to me I just try my best to eat healthily and avoid a lot of processed food and food high in sugar like cookies and chips and stuff. For the most part, healthy food (especially fruit and veggies) is low in calories, so even if you don't feel like counting every calorie your should still be ok. And of course its fine to have a treat. I try to work something in every day so i dont go crazy lol
lately i haven't been putting in what i eat into the counter, but instead keeping track in my head by estimating how much calories are in something, since i eat almost the same thing everyday, aside from dinner.
i hate to say it but, for some reason i'm looking forward to school starting. i think it's because i won't be sitting around being lazy all day. since i'm going into highschool, we have gym 3-4 days a week, and run 2 laps around the track then do something else. i'll probably have to walk home from the bus stop too most of the time, which is up a steep hill then down a hill. and, there's no chance to snack inbetween breakfast and lunch. i think this will help my progress a lot, as well as some teen classes at the local health club will be starting again that i can take! :]

I'm 13, 5'6.5" and am 135lb.
I would like to be more in shape so I will try to reach a realistic and healthy weight of 117-120lb. I need to start doing walks more and am going to start a diet plan with foods I like. Also I will be starting up Irish Step Dance tomorrow. :D That will be quite interesting. And I'm also thinking of doing Roller Blading around the street. Hopefully that will help. I'm home schooled so I should be able to set aside time for all of this. Anyway -17lb here I come!

i'm starting slow, i'm going by goals of five pounds. i originally started losing weight earlier this summer but i backslid bad after losing about five pounds. i was so annoyed with myself. i haven't been under 130 in almost a year, now, but i know if i let myself go on eating badly like this much longer i'm gonna be caught in a cycle.
also, i don't know if any of you happen to have this in common, but I have Crohn's disease. So far it hasn't given me any trouble, thank goodness.
I run two miles almost every day, but because my calories are usually way out of line i never lose weight [although i have gained more definition in other areas]. i'm taking up jump roping starting this week [burns 950 calories an hour, wow] and might throw in biking and stuff. mostly, besides just losing weight, i want to gain a lot of muscle tone and definition.
I'm hoping to reach 140 by early-mid september.
I think once school starts it will make it a lot more easy to lose weight too. As long as I bring my own food with me, and don't bring money so i can't buy fast food when all my friends do. I have weight training for like the whole year so i am pretty excited about that. My school is really new so we have like treadmills and elipticals and stuff.
