What can you tell me about Isagenix?
Asked by anonymous on Oct 04, 2010 in Weight Loss

Answer

Isagenix is a product marketed as a "complete system" for cleansing the body to produce weight loss and energy.  It is sold on the Isagenix website and from independent retailers.  The propitiatory blend of ingredients in their Cleanse for Life drink includes aloe vera, trace minerals, the herbs Pau d’Arco inner bark, suma root, eleutherococcus senticosus root extract, burdock root, fennel seed, peppermint, and licorice root, the amino acid methionine, and the nutrients betain HCL, choline bitartrate and inositol.  None of these ingredients is a proven weight loss aid but neither are they harmful, and some dieters get a psychological boost from starting a behavior change program with a cleanse; however, the weight loss attributed to Isagenix comes from replacing high calorie "real food" with low calorie liquids.

A Week of Clean-Eating Dinners
I’m trying to give my eating habits a little cleanup these days. It’s easy to pay close attention to what I’m eating on the weekends when I’ve got tons of time on my hands to prepare delicious meals, but during the week when time is less available I feel the pull of convenience foods for their, well, convenience. Here’s what I try to live by when all I have is 30 minutes to prepare a "clean" meal.
