Ten lbs gone by Thanksgiving - anyone want to join me?
Happy Sunday morning to everyone!
A little background on me. I am five nine, 254.4 this morning. Which SUCKS. I was down to 244.6 back in August, but I feel off the wagon. I am hoping someone would like to join me in posting and encourage each other to reach that ten!
I am a married mom of a ten year old boy. I want to be 100 lbs lighter in the not to distant future (Don't worry, I'm doing it healthy!). I decided to do it in ten lbs increments, and when I worked at it I did great. I really find that someone motivating me helps too. Unfortunately I cant get that from my husband, so I came to calorie count. I have found some great people here, and hope to continue to make more friends!
Anyone care to join me? I thought we could post our weigh on Sunday or Monday, and list our progress.

I would love to join! I need some type of motivation to keep me going. I'm trying to get down to 135 and I'm at 158 right now. When I originally started trying to lose weight I was at 166. Once I broke below 160 I lost my motivation and I need to get it back. I've been trying to do the Wii Fit and the EA Active plus walking. Let's do it!!
Hello Everyone! I just found this site today and I am loving all the support! I want in on the 10 pounds before Thanksgiving!!!! I just started a diet plan today actually. I have a limit of 1500 calories a day. I am drinking the Cinch shakes with Non Fat milk for 2 meals a day which is 620 calories and then I have whatever else with the remaining. A friend of mine at work has been doing it for about a month and she has lost a lot! Of course with some excersise too! I am not sure what all the meassurements you all posted mean but i am 26 years old I weigh 185 and I am about 5'4". I am looking forward to all the support and friendships with all of you!! :)

Is it too late to join? Dropping ten pounds by Thanksgiving is my current goal as well. I have never "joined" any weight loss group because the thought of actually disclosing my weight has always flipped me out, but I need to get over it. I have been in treatment for secondary infertility for about 3.5 years and the weight just piled on, more than 50 pounds! The drugs and hormones are killer. Yikes. I used to be a serious ballerina and muscle girl and when I started the infertility treatment weighted 160 but wore a size 4 so I suppose I had a lot of muscle... not so much right now! I used to lie about my weight even then because everyone thought I weighed nothing and I assumed it would shock them to know what I really weighed. Today I weigh 198, down from 212 on October 1st. I want to drop another ten pounds by Thanksgiving. I will do a cycle after Thanksgiving to try and get pregnant so my goal is to drop ten in November and then to NOT gain any once back on the meds. If I could just maintain while in treatment I would feel hugely successful. I just turned 40 and figure I may never wear a size 4 again, but a 6 would make me very happy at this point : )

I will join too! I have been carrying excess weight for 10 years.....I have four children and I just feel so tired all the time that I come up with any reason at all to NOT go to the gym or eat right. I am 5'8" and weighed in today at 183, the heaviest I have been in the last year. When I met my husband, I weighed 135! I have no idea what happened to me, needless to say, I need to do something and fast! I would LOVE to lose 10 by Thanksgiving........you can do it Suzie and thanks for asking us to join you. Welcome everyone! I think this is awesome! What a fabulous group of people all cheering each other on and rooting for our success!
I have had an awesome week so far. I have dedicated myself to getting my butt moving every single night, and I have accomplished it without fail. I have stayed well within my 1500 calorie range, and done at least 600 calories of activity every day. I am working on incorporating more veggies into my daily intake, as I think this will help me in the long run.
This morning I woke up at 4:45 am and couldn't sleep, so I got up and hit the recument bike. I did 45 minutes and was showered and dressed before my husband even made it out of bed.
Does anyone have a goal for today of exercise? is there maybe something new you want to try and are a little afraid to? I am considering getting my son a Wii for Christmas, and I am thinking about trying out the EA sport activity "game". I have read a lot of reviews that rave about it! What do you guys do to get motivated and moving?
Good morning, Suzie. Sounds loke you're doing great. I feel pretty good myself. My only exercise equipment right now is a 12 lb. Boston Terrier named Buddy. I go for a 45 minute walk with him every morning. There's no getting out of it! So even if I want to hedge a little (shorter walk), I figure he's got to go, so I might as well do the whole thing. I want to start strength training. I bought some weights, an exercise mat, and a Pilates book. I just haven't started yet. Don't know why. Keep up the good work. I might not lose the whole 10 lbs., but I'll lose what I can.
Good Morning Nafabird! I think it is great you do 45 minutes with Buddy every day! I have a corgi named Milo, and we both need to loose a few pounds! It is not if you do loose the full 10 lbs, but that you are working on it and trying. That can sometimes make all the difference in the world!
Nafabird -- I love that you call Buddy exercise equipment! My dog, Penny, a bull terrier cross, is nearly 12 and can't go too far, but I'd like to have her out for at least 20 minutes a day.
Suzie -- this morning I woke up early and forced myself to do 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill. It seemed to take forever but now it's done. Hooray for you for getting up early and getting on the bike :)
I was considering logging my "desired" activities each morning in the Activity Log, then editing as needed during the day. This would give me something to aim for and let me see how well I did at the end of each day in meeting my goals...
I also didn't sleep well. I already had some mixed fruit and a Chai tea, so so far not too bad... I have a volleyball game against University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown later today, so I hope I do well and play my best (and burn mucho calories of course :P). For motivation... I try to get a friend to come with me. It's easier for me that way, so I know its not just me worrying about staying fit.
As for the wii, I really like playing it, and you don't need to play a sports game to feel tired. I have the Sonic and Mario Olympic Games game and depending on what we do in it really makes you tired. But yeah, definitely get the Wii! :P They also have the wii fit, which is good for exercising, and DDR. I can't say much about the EA Sports game though, sorry.

My exercise goal is to run 3 times a week, strength 2 times a week, some other cardio 1 time a week.
This morning I got up at 5am and did a strength workout (Jillian Michaels). My cable has a ton of free exercise stuff.

hope it's ok to join I have been doing healthy eating at 1500-1850 per day and swimming, aqua aerobics and walking (inc green gym equipment) for three weeks now (currently nothing is happening apart from logging all this extra exercise and healthy eating!) but am sticking with it! Have set up a fruit box for tomorrow as I have loads of frozen fruit in the freezer so will see if upping the fibre helps?

Oh I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad last night! I do not know why, but I was starving all day long. I felt like my stomach was going to come out of my body several times. I had a huge spinach salad for dinner, but it didnt touch the insatuable hunger, and I ended up breaking down and eating two (small) piece of my husbands chicken pizza. Yes, it did not help that he made PIZZA when I was starving and going out of my mind!
However, i did a total of 2 hours on my bike yesterday, so I still ended up with a deficit of 1200 calories for the day. Not what I wanted but oh well.
I am thinking about just a walk tonight, giving my bike a break for the day and mixing it up a bit. I am really getting anxious to get the Wii now.
I am back on track with my eating today and I don't feel that horrible starving feeling like I did yesterday. Sensible lunch and breakfast and I will do something light for dinner. What do you guys do when you have those kinds of day? Any suggestions for avoiding those horrible foods when you are feeling like you are going to die?
