Ten lbs gone by Thanksgiving - anyone want to join me?

Happy Sunday morning to everyone! 

A little background on me.  I am five nine, 254.4 this morning.  Which SUCKS.  I was down to 244.6 back in August, but I feel off the wagon.  I am hoping someone would like to join me in posting and encourage each other to reach that ten!

I am a married mom of a ten year old boy.  I want to be 100 lbs lighter in the not to distant future (Don't worry, I'm doing it healthy!).  I decided to do it in ten lbs increments, and when I worked at it I did great.  I really find that someone motivating me helps too.  Unfortunately I cant get that from my husband, so I came to calorie count.  I have found some great people here, and hope to continue to make more friends!

Anyone care to join me?  I thought we could post our weigh on Sunday or Monday, and list our progress.

Good Morning -10 Ladies!!!

Suzieq and Figure, you two have some serious exercise goals!! wow. I did a 30 min cardio and strength video this morning and am planning to do 30 min on the elliptical after work.

Are we posting our stats every Monday or Sunday?

I'm not so good with the idea of aking one bite of something I really like. So, I usually try to stay away from it or just say forget it and indulge. However, this week I've been pretty good about sticking to my daily calories.

In answer to your question Suzie, I hate that feeling of hunger.  I eat lots of beans and heavy veggies like potatoes (I don't like them with sour cream or butter, but use nonfat cottage cheese instead).  Another way to avoid that hungry feeling is to make sure you're eating plenty of protein -- a little bit can go a long way to making me feel full.  So maybe some nonfat yogurt, a small piece of reduced fat cheese, or some tuna on my salad, a poached egg...  

And in the old days I avoided fat like the plague, but now I know it's important to have some fats and that they do help to make me feel content.  My favourite is olive oil and I have a teaspoon or so tossed on my salad.

Plan for today is to ride my bike for at least 60 minutes, take Penny for a walk, and clean the house.  Should keep me active enough to burn more calories than I eat :)

I got in an hour of kickboxing at the gym this morning.  Then I spent 2 1/2 hours mowing my yard (push mower - not self-propeled) and trimming bushes and plants this afternoon.  

Thursday and Friday were a rough two days.  I was super hungry (PMS) and we had a luncheon at work on Thursday and a dinner out on Friday.  Back on track today though.

Suzieq - as for your pizza.  All things are okay in moderation.  It is hard to give up everything for so long.  When I was loosing all my weight over the two year period I concentrated on eatting  healthy and watching calories about 85-90% of the time.  Sometimes I did indudlged, but cut back a little the next day to compensate.  I feel it is also about adopting a new lifestyle to keep the weight off once one looses it too.

Hey ladies!

I just did an hour of hula hooping. Its really funny and I could really feel it working my back and abdominal area. You guys should definitely give it a try.

We have about 25 days to go, lets do this!Smile

I know I'm a week late but I'd still love to join! I've been telling myself I wanted to loose 20 pounds by Christmas, and I started about 3 weeks ago and have only really lost about 5 pounds. I've added exercise to my life, and cut way back on my calories (most days!) but it doesn't seem to have too dramatic of an effect. I think I need a group to stay focused and keep on track. Hopefully this will help!

Keep goig 'las' it has taken my scales four weeks to register any weight loss then this morning wam! it's moved down so well worth the wait!......am sure it is definately the negative balance that has kicked in!

Good morning, all. I started with this group at 145lbs. I lost 2 lbs. My goal is to be at 135 lbs.by Thanksgiving. Now if only my sister would remove all that Halloween candy. Such tiny innocent candies.... They were calling me all during the evening yesterday!

My Goal is to burn 840 CAL DAILY...THATS A CHALLENGE IT SELF.

I am a little late, but I would like to join in too.  I have been doing pretty good actually, but I kind of stopped keeping track of my calories and I am starting to think that I am underestimating what I eat.. I put on a few pounds over the weekend but I am pretty positive it is period related. You guys are doing so great I can't help but to be inspired so I am back to logging and being apart of this motivitional group!

Starting weight : 240

Height: 5'3"

CW: 232 (I was 228 on Friday so this definitely a water gain)

GW: 222 (by Thanksgiving.. LOL piece of cake)

Ulitimate Goal: 140-160 depends on how I look when I get close!

I would love to try to do this with ya'll. I really only want to lose ten pounds total; 5 by Thanksgiving, though. I have gained about tens pounds since last October (2008). I want rid of it before I gain another ten this holiday season. I seemed to have put it all on in the belly area and that is not heart healthy at all. My stats are:

I've had a few challenges trying to resist the ton of halloween candy in my house....whew!

In spite of the sugar, I'm planning to jog after work for about 30-40 minutes.

Hello - I would love to join in!  I need to lose 50 overall but the initial 10 by t-giving would be fantastic!  I'm an up & downer but I'd like to just go down & not back up again.  To encourage this 50 lbs to be gone forever I am purchasing an elliptical machine this week for sure.  Currently am going to be focusing on calorie counting & exercising daily even if only for 30 minutes.  If anyone has any tips to share that would be great. 

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I agree rharrison, halloween candy makes everything much more difficult. I ran a mile, and then did a pilates dvd tonight. Im excited because my workout days are usually MWF and Sunday, so tonight was an extra. I decided to try and work out every day now in order to lose the 10 by thanksgiving. Does everyone else workout every day??
