Ten lbs gone by Thanksgiving - anyone want to join me?

Quote  |  Reply

Happy Sunday morning to everyone!

A little background on me.  I am five nine, 254.4 this morning.  Which SUCKS.  I was down to 244.6 back in August, but I feel off the wagon.  I am hoping someone would like to join me in posting and encourage each other to reach that ten!

I am a married mom of a ten year old boy.  I want to be 100 lbs lighter in the not to distant future (Don't worry, I'm doing it healthy!).  I decided to do it in ten lbs increments, and when I worked at it I did great.  I really find that someone motivating me helps too.  Unfortunately I cant get that from my husband, so I came to calorie count.  I have found some great people here, and hope to continue to make more friends!

Anyone care to join me?  I thought we could post our weigh on Sunday or Monday, and list our progress.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I am late posting my loss for this week.

Yay! Can't wait to get to the 170s.

I'm here, but barely.  Darn Halloween candy -- I should never have bought my favourite, Tootsie Rolls!  They do seem innocent, so small, but they certainly add up.  I put on a pound last week, so 124.5 for my weigh in.

Just getting back on track yesterday, and need to be very focused for a FULL week so I can really build some momentum.  I did 30 minutes of yoga this morning.  I love doing my yoga and it has almost become a habit to do some every single day :)

Will be walking the dog during my daughter's PT appointment so that will be another 30 minutes of exercise.  Hope to ride my bike later, but with the time change, it gets dark so early!  One thing I need to fight is the tendency to do nothing from 6 to 9 (but watch TV and surf the net) and then off to bed.  I must get some form of activity in!

Thanks for reading.  Good luck to all, and to those who have posted losses, keep up the good fight :)

Hello -10 Ladies!!

I just printed a week of my food log and noticed a trend... I like sugar!.... That's no surprise to me.

I'm going to work at cutting back on sweets even if I'm stying within my calorie guideline which I'm working on.

I got up at 5am today and did a 30min strength/cardio video.. I was sleepy and it was pitch dark out. Anywho, I'm planning to do a short walk/jog thing with a friend tonight while my son is in bball practice.

Have a great one!

Hello!  I am in too!!  I am very new to this site (second day)  I have started the p90x workout program and I am on the calorie counter.  I have a very slow metabolism and I am finding that I dont eat enough on a daily basis (900) and then about two days a week I piggie myself out!  I did not realize I was doing this, I eat a lot but I am finding it is low carbs so I am not getting the calories I need.  I love this site for that alone!!

So I am eating an even intake daily low enough to diet and I am working out.  Not sure if I can do the 10lbs by thanksgiving but I will try!!  I am also looking at changing my size since the workout I am doing will add muscle I may not be able to define my loss by the scale.

Overall I am 136 and looking to be 115 by February.  I am a small frame of 5'5".

Hi everyone... Checking in!

Been doing really good so far this week.  I have worked out everyday, I drag myself out of bed and to the gym before work so I can just get it over with.

Been pretty good on calories, still not logging, I have logged breakfast all week, but there is in break down after lunch.. LOL

Its almost lunch time here so I am going to log my lunch, that is my goal for today.  I guess one day at a time is no joke. Hope everyone is having a successful week.  Cant wait to weigh-in and see if all my gym time is paying off!

The last few days have been good, much better on the candy front!  And my weight was back to day 1 so that's a relief.  Now if I can just keep this momentum going through the weekend, I might be able to post a loss.

This morning I rode my bike to yoga (35 minutes), did a great yoga class including meditation, then took a leisurely ride home (45 minutes).  Later I need to walk my doggie at least 15 minutes so I'm rapt with all that.

Have a good weekend ladies, watch what you eat, and remember to be as active as you can.  Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away :)

Hi everyone, I was having a really horrible day today and all I wanted to do was go get a milkshake but instead I went to the gm and burned 500 calories! I feel so much better now and I don't even really want that milkshake anymore Laughing. I guess exercise really can make you happier, I hope everyone is having a happy friday! Good luck

Good job fighting past the candy! LOL  I bought no Halloween candy I like so there would be no tempting left overs.  That helped but my kids then brought home loads of candy.  On top of that they keep offering me some of my favorites... especially those long skinny tootsie rolls!  I have a Mom rule that says all Halloween candy goes in the trash after three days.... Thank goodness we have passed that day!  No more candy in my house  : )

I suppose I should be posting my stats! LOL

It has been a crazy week so I didn't get a chance to post my weight last Sunday, but I managed to keep my food and activity log up to date.  My weight on November 1st was 177 down 1 lb from when we started the prior week.

I just finished 40 minutes of strength training and I am hoping to make it to an 8 am step class tomorrow.

Alright, I know I didn't post last Sunday, but I'm here now.  I got caught up in piles of homework and projects (which are still not finished, but eh).  Last sunday, I only lost about a pound, so I was around 241, but now I am at 234.6 lbs! :D  Sweet!  My goal weight is 231, and I'm only about 4 lbs away.  This group has really helped me stay on track. :)  Hope everyone else is doing well too!

las06g, you lost 2 lbs. this week, right? Way to go! Looks like you don't need anyone's advice. Unless it's to not try to lose faster than that. This forum is to motivate us in a fun, positive way. There's a good chance I won't lose the 10 lbs. by Thanksgiving, but I will continue to lose. And we can all give thanks for our small and large accomplishments. Please...don't be so hard on yourself.

I've been doing good with my calories and working out last week.  My goal this week is to focus on adding more weight training to my schedule and to eat healthy even though I will be traveling 4 of the next 7 days.  Eating out is always difficult because of the sodium in meals even ones that otherwise seem to be healthy.

Current weight: 175.4 - down 1.6 lbs from last Sunday with 7.4 lbs to go til Thanksgiving

I will join you but Thanksgiving isnt very far off now!!! I will work hard, I need motivation! My goal is to be down 30 lbs by Feb 26th...so far I am down 1.6 but I weigh in again tomorrow morning so I am praying I lost more!!

Good morning everyone. I started this chalenge at 145 lbs. I weighed 206 lbs. at the beginning of this year. This morning I weighed in at 141 lbs. I've lost 4 lbs. I just got back from walking my dog. That takes about 45 min., and is the only exercise I'm doing right now. I don't know if I'll reach 135 by thanksgiving, but I'm sure going to try. How's everyone doing? Susie, where are you?

Yay for you nafabird1.  That's fantastic.

I weighed the same this morning as last week, and the week before, 123.5.  This week will be better!  Started the morning with 30 minutes of yoga :)

Edit:  wait a minute!  I actually lost a pound from last week.  Yay me!

nafabird1 you lost 61 lbs by just walking your dog 45 mins a day?

I have also started P90X and I am down in size but my weight is still high.  I am assuming I have some muscle that I have gained?  (assuming ='s hoping :)) I also sprained my ankle on Saturday so I will continue to work out as much as possible and drop my carb intake to make up for my extra sitting around.   I am still on task to loose the weight!!

I everyone. I would love to join in on this group as well. I am 27 5'9" 196lb and mother of 5. 4 of my own 9,8 6,2 and 1 step son who is 6. I would love to lose at least 20 lb. by the new year my stats are
