Hi!
I was diagnosed with tendonitis in my foot about a month ago. It was getting better, but then started acting up again yesterday :( Has anyone ever had tendonitis in their foot (it's the tendon that goes along the outer right side of my right foot)? How long until it goes away? I'm leaving for Park City to go snowboarding a week from Friday and I'm a little concerned. Anyone have any pointers on how to make it heal faster? Please help!!!
I've never had it in my foot, but I had tendonitis in my wrist a couple of years ago. The best thing you can do is stay off of it as much as possible and start strength training exercises as soon as you can. Talk to your doctor or a physio to see what would be good.
Unfortunately, I highly doubt it will be better in a week, mine took months to get mostly back to normal, and I have to maintain my exercises or it comes back.
yea the only time I had it was in high school in my wrists. Wrap your foot up in a brace and also try a warm compress to help loosen things up. Double check with your doctor first.
I was diagnosed with tendonitis in my left foot about a year ago. My doctor said there was nothing that could be done to cure the tendonitis (as this is not a problem that will ever completely go away). He prescribed 500mg ibuprofen for the pain and just told me to stay off of it until the swelling goes down.
I did as he prescribed and too some time off from the treadmill and softball (my two biggest foot killers) and popped Advil all day long until the swelling went down and there was less pain in my foot. It took about 2 weeks for the pain to go away, and I still have flair ups (especially when I roll my ankle).
Therefore, I agree with mogochud. I don't think this is something that will go away in a week.
Thanks for the input. I have had it about 5 weeks now, not a week (I am leaving on vacation in a week and a half), and have been popping Advil, icing it (heating it made it stiff, and the doc said to ice it) and have forced myself to do NO cardio except box while on my knees (don't ask--it gets the heart rate up and puts no pressure on the foot!! LOL!!). I live in NYC, so I have to walk a bit, but other than commuting and a little weekend shopping I have been staying off the foot completely (and wearing flat shoes, which I hate, but ok!). I emailed the doctor this morning and he recommends that I get a Swedo (it's an anke wrap thing that will go around my foot as well). I'll give it a go. Thanks again for the responses!!
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
