the terrible threads on the other forums

The 'lounge' is a pit! I come on here after work and tonight I see thread after thread bashing Jesus and Christianity. I am wondering why that is ok with the forum mods. If anyone were to get on and bash any other religion or atheism there would be a riot.

There are some pretty ugly, vicious attacks and it was truly upsetting to see it in the titles over and over down the list. How disappointing to see that such meanness goes by. Need prayers because I am really angry right now.

Satan will "use" anything to distract us.  Glad you found us.  Be encouraged and not discouraged.  We know the truth and that is all that matters!

Maryann you are in good company.  They spit on Jesus, they crowned him with a thorn of crowns, they beat him and mocked him.  If they did that to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ then we are going to have to face it as well. 

You know the enemy is very cunning and sneaky.  Do not let him use others to control your emotions.  When that happen we open the door for his vices.  We know that in the last days God would give men over to a reprobate mind and all that do not believe now will have to bow later.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Phillipians 4:8

Stay focused on Christ..He never opened His mouth about his suffering.  We are sinners saved by grace-He was one who knew no sin and still persecuted.

Thank you for the replies. I have calmed down now since last night and am just going to avoid the other forums for a while. I do think it's sad that grown people think that sort of thing is amusing. I think, also I was just more caught by surprise to see it on a forum for weight loss by adults.

I certainly am glad to hear that you feel better now. I agree with what others are saying, but have an alternate  point of view also. As sad as this is, the reason that some Christians get bashed is because they are scuh terrible witnesses of God. Many are so consumed by themselves that it is hard to see the One they are supposed to be representing. As a small example, I previously worked at a restaurant. Everyone hated Sundays...because the Christians were the absolute worse people to wait on! They were rude, unforgiving, and they tipped horribly. How sad is that. Yet that is the norm and not the exception. I think that we should learn from that. We need to ask ourselves, "In what ways could I be a better example of Jesus so that others who think that Christianity is so stupid could see what it's really about?" We also need to pray for those who call themselves a follower of Christ to see areas where they can change so that they too could be a good example.

James 1:22 and Matthew 7:24 - I always think that we need to "Do the Word!Be doers not hearers only!"

Like in anything - there are always those few who ruin things.   Such a shame!
