Going here tomorrow night for dinner/drinks, so what would you get?

I think I've got it boiled down to either the Roasted Chicken and Cheese , the #9, or the chicken soft tacos

And can someone tell me what charro beans are?

The grilled chicken salad sounds good.  I like avos and chicken on salad! Yum!

Then again... EVERYTHING sounds delicious...

But not everything sounds so "not bad" for you.  As long as it is not covered in some kind of crazy dressing that is.

Hmm this isn't technically my favorite type of food but I do like Fajitas... chicken... with onions & bell peppers in olive oil - if you can get the restaurant do that that... go for em'!

It's all good, pick what ever you fancy and ask to have any dressing on the side and no sour cream, cheese, or guacamole. If they look like big portions get a box right at the beginning and put half away before you start eating or find someone to share.

I think I'd have the chicken fajitas with out the extra fatty stuff. The thing to watch is not to graze on appetisers or bread and make sure your drinks are not too high in sugar.

I LOVE CHUY'S!

Charro beans are Mexican cowboy beans.  Usually whole pintos, and they usually don't have any fat added.  They should be a pretty healthy part of the meal.

If you can order corn tortillas rather than flour tortillas, you will usually be better off, nutrition and calorie-wise.  You might want to ask them to leave off the cheese and sour cream, but I wouldn't skip avocados/guacamole firstly because they are good for me, and secondly because I adore them.  I tend to treat restaurants as good opportunities to practice maintenance skills, so I don't obsess about what I order, just try to keep the portions sensible (which usually means cutting a line through the plate and only eating half) and take extras home.

My downfall in Tex-Mex or Mexican restaurants are the chips and salsa, I try to limit myself to a handful and not the whole bowl.
