For me, it would be -

Fibrous vegetables: Cooked because of taste

Starchy vegetables: As hard as can be because of texture (Don't like mashed potatoes)

Fruit: Raw because of texture

Grains: Toasted/slightly burned because of texture and a little of taste

Nuts: Roasted for taste

Dairy: Cooked/melted for texture

Beans: As hard as can be for texture (including tofu!)

Seafood: Raw for texture and taste

Other meats: Cooked medium for texture

Other: Chocolate I only eat pure bars for both texture and taste ;)

HmMMMmm.

Fibrous vegetables: Cooked for texture/taste. (Excepting lettuce, if that counts.)

Starchy vegetables: Cooked for texture. I bit into a raw potato once when I was younger and it wasn't so pleasant to me. :P

Fruit: Raw for texture/taste. I don't really liked cooked fruit, for some reason.

Grains: Al dente. I like some texture to them, but I don't like 'em squishy.

Nuts: Dry roasted for taste and texture, though I usually eat them raw.

Dairy: Mainly partially cooked for texture/taste (like somewhat melty butter or warm milk).

Beans: Usually cooked soft for texture - though I do love crunchy & salted soramame. :)

Seafood: Cooked for texture and taste. I do like sashimi, but I have to be in the mood for it.

Other meats: The only other meat I eat is chicken, so I guess that has to be as well-done as possible so salmonella doesn't come a-knockin'. :D

Other: MmMMMmm. I definitely agree on the chocolate comment.

Fibrous vegetables: cooked.  Like celery...I can't stand to eat celery raw anymore, but cooked (like in a soup) is AMAZING.

Starchy vegetables:  it's more about the flavor, I make a mean mashed potato.  The more cooked, the better IMO

Fruit: must be raw, unless in a pie...because of the texture :)  I love biting into a handful of raspberries and feeling their seediness

Grains: I like grains, period.  i don't think I like the "flavor" per se, but I love the texture they bring to breads and such.

Nuts: raw (or without other ingredients), I like just the flavor, but cooked into something I love the texture and flavor (like sunflower seeds baked into bread)

Dairy:  ew.  I almost HATE the texture of most dairy, but love the flavor.  Like yogurt...I wouldn't eat it if I didn't know it was so good for you.

Beans: both.

Seafood: I PREFER it to be raw but it's the flavor I love, not the texture (same w/cooked seafood)

Other meats: mmm...extremely rare delicious steak!  it's the flavor, not the texture here
