30th birthday on July 25th - need to lose 8-12lbs! Anyone want to join?
Hi All --
I used calorie count in Nov-Dec and lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks. I gained back a few pounds and have 12 to go to reach my goal of 115. I'm 5'1" and currently weigh 127. I'd like to get this last 12 pounds off by my 30th birthday, July 25th.
PLEASE join me in weekly weigh ins on Mondays (starting this Monday, June 22nd) all the way up to the big day! I stay so much more motivated with help & support!!!
I REALLY need suggestions on how everybody stays motivated to workout & stay within calorie budget, too.

Ok I'm in! I have been a member for some time and got to my target weight fairly steadily. I started out at 147 pounds in February and got down to 130 in April. I have maintained that weight, although it seems that I fluctuate by a pound or two which is normal. I really now would like to lose another 8 pounds to get to 124. Today I am 132. I have had a rather naughty week! But I really want to get motivated again to lose this last bit. I wasn't aiming to lose this much but after losing the first 17 pounds I feel that I could push on to lose a bit more to get rid of those love handles and flabby thighs and wobbly stomach! I go to the gym although that has been rather sporadic of late too, for various reasons. So having this weigh in will really help as it helped me before to know that I had to own up to everyone if I cheated! I am 37 and 5' 4". Safety girl I will use your birthday target lol! I will probably do my weigh on a Friday as that is what worked for me before, as I found it a little demoralising after the weekend incase of a slight slip up! But if I can still be part of your weigh in that would be great!

I would like to join you guys as well. I am turning 30 this Oct. 7th and although I've lost weight before I haven't reached my weight before having the kids. My ultimate goal is 120 lb, I'm 5'4 and started tracking my calories on 6/13 weighing at 140.8, I'm currently at 139. I'm doing this in two steps, my first goal is to loose 10 pounds as that doesn't seem to overwhelm me. I've been weighing myself on Fridays as well. I also took my measurements on 6/18th that is when I got to 139lb. I really think it's a resonable goal by Oct. however I would be thrilled to have it done before. The closest I came before was 126lbs, and I still had that baby tummy problem, so I may need to motify this as we go, not sure if the last 6 pounds would of gotten me to a flat tummy.
Excellent! We're on! I now have to make two huge chocolate tray bakes for a friend's birthday tomorrow! How hard will this be~! LOL! ![]()
Thanks for joining the group! I really thrive when I have people to be accountable to. When I lost my weight before it was with one of my friends.
I'm going to stick with my Monday weigh-ins (seems to work best for me)...and hopefully when I see your losses on Fridays it will be additional motivation to keep it up for the weekends!
Had a pretty bad day yesterday -- I did great during the day (1220 cals) but got home last night and consumed another 650 calories before bed! I've really got nip that in the bud!

This is awesome. I think the hardest for me will be to not weighing myself everyday. I know it's crazy! But luckily for me today I had lost a bit, down to 138.6. (Made german pancake for Fathers day Breakfast though). I will do my very best to not weight myself EVERYDAY.

I will normally weigh in on Mondays but tomorrow i'll have just gotten into ny after an overnight flight and don't want to use a scale that's not mine. by the way, do any of you have a scale that works? if so, what brand?
I'm 5'7" and currently weigh 160... I really would like to get down to 150. I have two kids and want to be 150 before I get pregnant again... at the very least 155.
What do you guys do about counting calories when you're out at a restaurant?

I think most restaurants offer a low calorie meals on their menus. The scale I have is digital scale brand is Healthometer. I would stick to meals that don't contain all the cream sauces/butter. One of my favorite meals is Salmon, wildrice and some veggies.

This week my goal is to workout (treadmill or elliptical) 30-45 mins M-F and do 2 days of strength training. I take weekends off from exercise but not from CalCounting. I LOVE using the on-demand exercise workouts on cable. Best ab workouts I've ever done!

I'm 5'9 and i'm at 149. my starting weight was 167. My goal weight is either 135 or 140, I haven't decided yet. I really want to reach and be able to comfortably maintain my goal weight by the end of august. Good luck to all of you!
p.s. about the restaurants, my number one rule is to always avoid anything with cream sauces or dressings.. and to replace any soup or appetizer with steamed veggies! also, i gauge the size of the meat according to a deck of cards.. that way you're eating about two or three ounces. If you get a piece of salmon that could hold three entire decks of cards on it, take breaks while you're eating to take a long drink of water and then make sure you're actually hungry before you keep eating... a lot of the time you no longer are hungry and even though the food may be delicious, you can enjoy it twice if you just take it home!

I'm 5'7 and 45 yo..My current weight is 163lbs. My goal weight is 145. I used to attend weight watchers and was 5 lbs away from my goal weight and thought I could do the rest on my own..well I didn't do so good on my own, so maybe joining this group will hold me accountable. My goal is to be 153lbs or less on July 25th!

I'm at 1346 calories for today (it's 8pm EST, so I'm done eating) which is right in my goal range of 1200-1400. Yay!![]()

He he Safety girl I did succumb and had to eat some cake! It would have been wrong not to try it! But I only had a small piece at lunch and a small piece at the party. But usually I would have eaten ALOT! So I am ok with that!!! You can't deny yourself everything. Have done no exercise this week as not feeling well, but am still trying to keep to my calories. Every little helps. I have frozen the remaining cake in squares so that my husband and daughter can have some but it is not sitting there out and to be seen to tempt me! lol! I live in India, so for me eating out I usually have tandoori chicken and salad, or calamari chilly fry, grilled fish or something like that. Just avoiding anything with a sauce helps. Well done Safety girl for losing a pound... Right the battle is on... I must lose something before Friday!!!

Well, I didn't feel like I did too good today, gotta have some veggies to loose weight right? had none. Didn't do my workout today :( I started the Chalean Extreme dvd program and was feeling a little sore. Plus, I have a date with my hubby on Wed. and it's all day (Woohoo, leaving the kids with sitter) So I have to figure out what to eat all day , was looking at the Pei Wei online menu calories to get an idea for lunch and then going to Guardunos for Mexican food(we have planned for a margarita each, not sure how many cals on this one yet). Wish me luck! We're starting with massages, then movie(Transformer) then Guardunos. & lunch in between.
I'll have to make up for my workout tomorrow. Also what are you guys eating on a typical day that is at 1200 cal for the day, looking for new ideas to add to my menu.

Hello, I would love to join the group. I have been losing and gaining the same 10 pounds since my daughter was born 7 years ago..(LOL) I am 5'7 and had always maintained my weight at 136 (wasn't happy at that weight either-LOL) but I just can't seem to stick with it. I did this calorie count a few months ago and lost a few pounds but then became busy-emotional eater.. My goal weight is 135 which I guess according to thier calculations if I maintain the 1200 calories per day is October 11. I am really going to try and stick with this. Maybe it will go better since we have to share our weight each Monday and more accountable...LOL With 1200 calories, I am going to try and snack on 100 calories packs of popcorn, etc. Let the games begin!!
