30th birthday on July 25th - need to lose 8-12lbs! Anyone want to join?
Hi All --
I used calorie count in Nov-Dec and lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks. I gained back a few pounds and have 12 to go to reach my goal of 115. I'm 5'1" and currently weigh 127. I'd like to get this last 12 pounds off by my 30th birthday, July 25th.
PLEASE join me in weekly weigh ins on Mondays (starting this Monday, June 22nd) all the way up to the big day! I stay so much more motivated with help & support!!!
I REALLY need suggestions on how everybody stays motivated to workout & stay within calorie budget, too.

I want to lose 20 lbs by September. I'm 5'3'' and weigh 141. I have 3 weddings to go to this summer and want to be in good shape for them! How do you stay motivated with eating? I have no problem working out, but the dieting is more difficult for me.

Good luck with your weight loss! I also lost my first 17 as I had a wedding to go to! I kept it off despite the wedding being at the end of a month's visit to friend's and family in UK! I did however put a couple on when I got back home, but I have lost that now and 2 more... it was harder to get motivated this time but once you lose the first two pounds you feel that somehow it is possible and it will happen. I had the outfit made to fit me once I had lost weight, and then I knew I had to keep it off when I was in the UK so that's what helped me not to over eat! Have a good look around at some clothes that you think you might want to wear for the wedding and keep those in your mind when you feel the temptation creeping in! If I feel an urge to snack I try to drink lots of water but if I am still hungry I will have something. The trick is not to starve yourself cos then you will feel miserable. Remember it is a lifestyle change and not just a diet for now or else you will just put it on afterwards. I was quite amazed however at how I could keep at my target weight and still eat well and have the odd treat. I am really looking forward to getting to my new target weight and then I can switch to the maintenance diet again! Set yourself little targets, like 7 lbs at a time then it will not seem like such a mammoth task... Good luck mariangelica! ![]()

How is everyone else doing?
Hi everyone! Is it too late to join? I turned 30 in February and I'm 5'2" and weigh 128lbs. I wanting to lose about 15lbs by the end of August (I'm going to Hawaii!!), but so far I haven't worked out as much as I should and I've only started to incorporate salads into my daily diet. Next I'm going to cut the sugar our of my morning coffee and start using splenda.
I haven't been very motivated but I hope this is the right place to help! :)

Hey there Friday weigh in people! Has been a stressful week with work and daughter STILL off school, but she goes back today for first time in just over 2 weeks. But I have stuck with it despite no gym and really kept the calories to my minimum intake allowed and have lost 3 lbs! Hurray! AND have found the lbs button on the back of my scales (duh!)so can see the loss coming off during the week when you get 128.8 for example then 128.4... rather than thinking you are stuck at a weight when it is in stones and pounds...I had been taking stones and pounds and converting it to pounds then dividing by 2.2 which obviously came to a round figure (like mine he he!).. but now I can have point thingys which can be motivating! ha ha... hope this makes sense... have only just woken up and am slightly delirious from lack of sleep and excitement at losing 3 lbs lol! Well no loss still. (Arrr!) I've been working out, (so that's nice I've been doing well with that). My husband says that I look more toned, and I can see my hips and butt are slimmer, but still no loss in the belly are(which is my main concern, if only spot reducing was possible). I did 2 strenth straining this week & 1 cardio intervals since Sunday. Feeling frustrated! I was hoping to loose 1-2 pounds a week. One good thing I've started is buying the salad that comes in bags, so that has helped, rather than spending the time to make it. When it's easy to get to I'm eating it. Any suggestions/tips on how to simplify your cooking time. (especially with 3 children in mind).
Rollayesenia - The positives are: you've lost 2 pounds since you started -- you haven't gained and you've probably been gaining muscle/increasing your metabolism. I'd say that's something to celebrate! ![]()
I can't believe it... but I forgot to post my weigh-in on Monday! I was down to 122! I've officially lost 5 pounds and have 7 to go :) I was 121 this morning, so actually, only 6 to go!!!

Eek! My scale is going the wrong way. About two weeks ago, I started eating more calories (1500-1700) than before (1200-1400) because I was told that I probably wasn't eating enough for my height (5'2), weight (was 131) and age (27). I exercise 3 times a week for an hour and do light exercise for 30 mins 3 additional days. I'm thinking that maybe I should go back to 1200 calories but there are some days, usually the day after my hour workout that I feel like I could eat a house and broccoli and brown rice only fill me up so much. If anyone's got any pointers, pls let me know! I'd like to be down to 129 by July 25th!

Sorry for not posting Friday, my router broke and we had no internet. Finally! I can't believe how much we use the internet. Anyhow, no drop in pounds, if anything still 139 lbs. (I'm starting my 2nd 30 day of my weight training program, good news is that some jeans that I couldn't fit into, do, I can actually zip them up, woohoo!)

Well it is one day till Safety girl's Birthday... Happy birthday Safety Girl... Have a great 30th. I really enjoyed turning 30. Thanks for starting this thread! Thanks to you and all on this page I have lost 23 pounds in total. 7 of which I lost before coming on here. My aim originally was only to lose 10 but I keep resetting my target!! I am now my stated target for this time - Just.. by the skin of my teeth, if you don't count the point 8!! lol! I am going to set a new target weight now and this one will be final! Hopefully everyone else will carry on in this group. Good luck everyone today for your weigh ins! This is the first time in absolute YEARS that I have been below 9 stone! 5 more to go then I will be 8 and a half, something I never dreamed I would be again! Then I have to keep it off.. I am so glad that I joined this group, I know it has kept me motivated in working out and eatting better. (I'm now looking at watching my sodium intake and lowering it). I will continue and would be nice to have you guys join me if you'd like. My 30th B-day is just around the corner (October 7th).

I'm breaking down my goal into mini goals, so my next date is my mothers' Birthday on Aug. 21st (30 days at a time seems more do able for me rather than getting overwhealmed). Based on my results since I started tracking my cals on June 13th I was at 140.8, so it'-s been 3.8 lbs/month,(yesterday I was at 137lbs) I have 2 months and 2 weeks till my B-day so I think a realistic goal for me would be to loose 9.5 lbs, putting me at about 127lbs.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:

- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
