Going out for Thai- Suggestions?
It's my bf's burfday this upcoming Friday and I scheduled dinner at a Thai restaurant. I would like to know if there's any upstanding healthy dinner choices available for someone watching their calorie intake.
The menu is posted online, but the entrees are somewhat vague as far as ingredients. http://www.seedathai.com/menu-dinner-1.html
As you may tell, my dabbling in Thai cooking has been sparse. However, I enjoyed what I've had in the past. I dig spicy, flavorful food. I also want to cheat a bit and induge...but not undo my week.
Does the Siamese Shrimp(specials page) sound like a wise choice? For some reason, they reccomend noodle dishes for people interested in 'lighter' cuisine. I can't help but be slightly suspicious.
I have gotten the Pad Se-ew before and it was great, great...here at my local place, you can get veggies and chicken/tofu/shrimp in a light, spicy brown sauce- order brown rice instead of white and there you go. I didn't see that on your menu, but I probably just overlooked...anything like that is a great choice. You can't go too wrong, just don't get the Pad Thai or anything else w/the peanut sauce, or the curries...those I know are fattening.
ENJOY most of all!! Thai is DELISH!!!! Happy early b-day
I'd go for the Chicken Satay... it's barbequed, not sauteed or fried like the rest of their dishes. Also, the sauce is on the side, so you can use as much or as little as you like.
