What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
It's Thanksgiving, a time to Give Thanks for all the good things in our lives. Who or what are you giving thanks for this year?
I'm thankful for
the man I love who loves me beyond all reason
a warm hearth, and full pantry
clothes on my back, shoes on my feet
the mutts of mischief, friends & family
a vivid imagination, and hopeful heart
Great post!
I am so thankful every day for my wonderful family--my mom, dad, and brother. I am so lucky to have them all alive and close by. Also, for my boyfriend, who has stayed with me for 6 years, through some of the most messed up times in my life, including and especially a 2-year-long struggle with anorexia. I am thankful that God has showed me the way out of that awful disease and is helping me recover more every day (mentally, I mean--physically I am back to my old self.) I am so thankful that I have a roof over my head (even if it's leaking) and plenty of food to eat. I am thankful for my education, the fact that I've been able to go to college when so many other people in the world aren't so lucky. Also I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had this semester to intern at a prison. Not everyone gets such a unique opportunity, and I have learned so much. I am thankful for so many more things but I don't want to bore everyone, so I'll stop there!
Edited to add: oh, also the fact that my dad was able to get his old job back as a Burger King manager, when he has been unemployed for awhile due to the economic crisis. It's not perfect, but we're lucky that he found anything at all.
I'm thankful for the different people that have come into my life that have made a difference. Whether for a short time or a life long friendship.
I'm thankful everyday for my sweet babies Tucker & Doobie.
the love that has graced my life.
Bacon.
I'm thankful for my family, husband, sons and furbabies...that we are all in good health. I'm thankful to have my home and plenty of food to eat. I'm thankful I have a job when many are without one. I'm thankful that God has bestowed a great many blessings upon me that I often take for granted.
I am thankful for a wondeful wife, four fuzzy dorks, a family. I am thankful that I have a job, that I have a home, that I am not truly lacking in anything essential. I am thankful for my friends and my associates and the people who keep me going day by day. I am thankful for a local community (dance classes and local CC friends) who keeps my real life interested. And I am thankful for CC and all the joy (and sometimes frustration and heartbreak) it brings me daily.
I am thankful for my family being happy and healthy.. I sometimes forget how lucky I am. :)
I'm grateful for my son - my world. I'm grateful that I have such a loving family and great friends and coworkers.
I'm thankful that I still have a job in the midst of all of the layoffs and that we have a roof over our head and food on the table.
I'm thankful to this site and all its members!
But mostly, I'm grateful to be alive and well and experiencing this magic thing called life and get to glory in all of Earth's beauty and the stars above.
I am grateful for having a decent roof over my head knowing there are people who live in terrible housing and are heating their homes with their stoves. I am grateful for the education that i got that enables me to help these people(sometimes) get into safe housing.
I am grateful for having enough money to take care of myself and realize that other people on fixed incomes do not. I remind myself that it is my obligation to share my money and time with those who are less fortunate.
I am grateful for my son, and also that my family is relatively healthy.
I am extremely grateful for every morning that I've woken up and taken a breath...
I'm so thankful for my family and friends that love and support each other like no other group of people I know and for my wonderful, wonderful husband. I'm thankful that I have a job I enjoy, a home I can take refuge in, and a healthy body, mind and spirit.
I am thankful for my four wonderful kids, my husband who works so hard for us, my family who are always there for me, my closest two real life friends and all my cc+ friends who help me keep my sense of humor.
Of course I am thankful for the toddler that two seconds ago I was telling to stay out of the fridge. I am thankful for my loving partner and my two wonderful sons. My supportive family. I am also thankful that circumstances allow me to stay home with the children for now.
Oh, and I am thankful that we are having Thanksgiving here this year and I get to cook!!!

I was given a gift certificiate to get acupuncture and this afternoon I'm going to get it down. For the past week I have been trying to figure out what I should get it for - people have suggested I get it for general aches and pains, to decrease stress, to control appetite, to promote weight loss, to improve mood, etc. No suggestion felt right. It slowly dawned on me that I am thoroughly happy with every aspect of my life and I don't *need* acupunture (or anything for that matter) to make any aspect better. I am thankful for that.
I'm thankful...
... that I found my best friend and love of my life in the same person.
... for my dogs, who comfort me and keep my toes warm.
... that even though she's dying now, my grandmother has lived a good, full life.
... for my friends who make me laugh and feel like I'm part of something special.
... for a family that loves me even though we have different opinions about everything.
... for the gym where I can spend a few minutes a day thinking about myself.
... that next year is going to kick this year's a**.
-for being surrounded with people who love me and each other
-for being blessed with a healthy and vibrant mind and body
-that i am beginning to be able to not sweat the small stuff
-for the fact that i get to see my bro-ham in just a few weeks!!
I'm thankful for Newark, NJ, since it gives all the other cities hope.
I am thankful to have the opportunity to explore my world and my place in it.
I am thankful for my huge crazy family- we are all healthy and happy.
I am thankful to have had the time to spend with the people I've lost.
I'm thankful for all God has given me- I am extremely lucky, even though I forget sometimes.
I am thankful for my job and my school.
I am SO thankful for my wonderful friends who have helped me along the way.
I am thankful to be who I am, where I am.
I am thankful for cookies.
I'm thankful for my family, my friends, and my good fortune. I'm thankful that I have a beautiful body that does exactly what I need it to do-- I have two feet that can carry me anywhere, two capable hands, two (nearsighted, but still functional) eyes, and a face that can express anything I am feeling. I'm thankful that I ended up exactly where I needed to end up, at a college that I love. I'm thankful that everything is falling into place. Sometimes I feel like everything is too good to be true, and I'm thankful for Thanksgiving, because it gives me the opportunity to finally take notice of those things that I usually take for granted.
