Thanksgiving Challenge

Quote  |  Reply

Hello to all my fitness friends.  I am challenging everyone to run in their local Turkey Day race.  I will be signing up to do my local 5K race, will you join me?  If you are not a runner, that is okay.  Most of the races allow walking for the race too.  I am encouraging everyone to get up and go on Thanksgiving Day.  I would also love to hear about your experience after the race.

Happy Fitness to All,
Kate

Hi Kate,

I think that's a great idea! But unfortunately I am not a runner. I am walking the "Run for the cure" though on October 4th ... Maybe next year I'll be joining a 5k run...

Good luck to all of the runners out there!

Brigit

I only have 3 people willing to take on the challenge.  Come on guys, get out and move with me on Thanksgiving Day!!

Hi Kate,

I've been looking for a turkey trot in my area for a couple of months but having trouble finding one.  The only one I've found so far supports a local college track team.  I would rather support an organization that provides food baskets or some other organization that helps people.  I will pledge to run at least a 5K on Thanksgiving day whether it's in a race or on my own though Smile

Good luck everyone!

I will run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning!

Just wanted to give a heads up to everyone in this challenge. My Thanksgiving plans are still being finalized. If I stay in TX, I will be running in an actual 5K. If I head up to Oklahoma, I'll be running it on my own since the nearest 5K is 4 hours away. I'd do it any other day but Thanksgiving or Christmas. Laughing

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving.  I am checking in to say I ran 3.25 miles at a very slow 44.31 mins on Thanksgiving morning.  The run must have helped with the eating too.  This was the first year in history I managed to lose weight the week of Thanksgiving.

I hope to hear of everyone's Thanksgiving running story soon.

Happy Running,
Kate

Ran / Walked Turkey Trot 5K with a friend. . . .time 39 minutes!
