I haven't had it yet! o.O; But I know I've already had around 700 today. Damn you family brunch and pre-dinner cheese platter!

Haven't had ours yet either, but around 500 calories already figured into my count for today.

Menu:

turkey breast tenderloin

baked potato with cottage cheese/green onions

Green Giant brand "no sauce added" green beans/almonds

slice of cranberry sauce (must have!)

baby carrots, radishes, celery with a little ranch dressing.

880, including a slice of pumpkin pie! :)  I was surprised that one turkey drumstick has 356 cals, according to this site.  But I did run almost 10 miles today, so my deficit is still close to 500 (woke up late, so only had 1,600 total for the day - 100 below maintenance).
I ate so much food, but I made it all myself and it was kind of lowfat... We had cranberry sauce, stuffing, sweet potatoes with pralline topping, roast veggies, mashed potatoes, vegan herb gravy, and wholewheat rolls. Soooo good. I hadn't really planned on eating so much but I guess old habits die hard, that and I hadn't had such a "traditional" dinner in many years :)

I'm not counting these days, but I would guestimate that I had about 1,500 calores?!

My tally for the whole day is 1700 - about 250 more than normal but still well below maintenance.

I had a normal breakfast, and for lunch I had turkey breast, herb bread, roasted root vegetable medley, homemade green bean casserole (with low-fat white sauce instead of canned soup, and homemade ovenfried onions), and some homemade cranberry sauce. It was delicious!

And then I had a wholewheat turkey and spinach roll with cranberry sauce for dinner (I take it as a good sign that I didn't overdo that I was hungry again in the evening.)  That pumpkin pie is calling my name again but I'm going to resist - it will still be there tomorrow, and I figured out that if I just have the low-fat filling and leave the pastry, it's only 77 calories a slice!

My Thanksgiving Dinner ....

9 ounces Yellowfin tuna sashimi (in a salad)  (275 calories)

one cup of cherry tomatoes, halved (27 calories)

one medium cucumber, peeled/diced (24 calories)

one cup sliced radishes (19 calories)

11 ounces of lemon-garlic grilled asparagus (62 calories)

one toasted Thomas' light multigrain english muffin (100 calories)

CALORIE TOTAL: 507  (not counting the Ponzu sauce, garlic and lemon juice)

VEGETABLE SERVINGS: FIVE

Oh, my god, I can't count it but it was soooo good. I'll estimate the portions--

  • 1/4 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup mashed sweet cheese potatoes!
  • 4 medium roasted carrots
  • 1/2 cup homemade apple cranberry sauce
  • 1 medium slice canned cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup white turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1 crescent roll (though I had another after dinner!)
  • 4/5 cup chick pea roast (some sort of mashed chick pea filling in a yuuummy buttery crust)
  • 1/2 cup gravy
  • 1/2 tsp homemade butter (had to try it; it was delicious)
  • 1 cup nut/berry stuffing
  • 1 cup sparkling applecider
  • 1 sip red wine

LOL! ehh.. well, it DID all fit onto 1 normal size plate you know. o.O; I hope I am not overestimating. OH! And then a couple of hours later I had a medium sized piece of mouth-watering orange-chocolate pudding-filled vanilla-butter-iced cake.

I've been exercising overtime for the last 2 days and I'll do it again tomorrow and this weekend.

I DON'T REGRET IT.

To my surprise, my entire dinner PLUS a slice of pumpkin pie only came out to about 850 calories, which totally isn't bad for a holiday if you ask me.

Breakfast & Lunch: pumpkin bread, various fruits, and coffee(600cals)

Dinner:turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, dinner roll, cranberry sauce(500cals)

Dessert:1/2cup coffee, 1/2pumpkin pie slice, 1/2chocolate pie slice, 1/2 apple pie slice, 1/4cup vanilla ice cream, light whipped cream(600cals)

Total = 1700cals

This is the least amount of calories i've eaten in a couple weeks!!(I do feel slightly ill because most of my calories came from pie). I also went hiking this morning with my mom, which i'm sure helped burn off some pie calories.

I don't even know how to begin to calculate the cheasy hash brown casserole or the scalloped corn casserole!  Yikes!  Then I had to top it off with french silk pie!!!!
I ate 1500 calories but i also ran 3 miles this morning. I am happy with myself because i had to eat two thanksiging dinners, my boyfriends families and my families. I skipped all appetizers and had very small portions and skipped the mashed potatoes and gravy!

Total Calories Consumed   1,533

Wow .... sounds like everyone ate (or tried) some amazingly yummy things!

I have no idea how many calories I ate today.  I am sure that I ate substantially more than I normally allow (1200 - 1400/day).  However, I did a 4-mile Walk Slim dvd this morning, walked a "cross-country" mile in my field post-feast, and did a late 1-mile walk on my treadmill.  Also, I ate a lot less than I have in previous years, so all-in-all, I am going to bed feeling victorious.  I did all of the cooking, so most of the ingredients were healthier than usual (splenda, lowfat milks and cheeses, no transfat, only olive oil, etc).

I do have one more meal to face tomorrow and it is an out-of-towner for which I am doing none of the cooking, so I will have to be more careful with my eating and I will have little opportunity to exercise.  It has been a great Thanksgiving and a good beginning to the holiday season.
I DON'T REALLY KNOW RIGHT NOW OR CARE,BUT I DID MEASURE MY FIST TO MY BELLY TO FOOD PORTION BEFORE I PUT ON THE PLATE. IT  WORKS EVERY TIME. I THINK YOUR   FIST IS THE SAME SIZE OF SERVING STOMACH PORTIONS.UH,THAT JUST CAN'T BE DENIED,IF YOU CAN'T PAY ATTENTION.LIFE ISN'T WORTH  LIVING   IF   Y OU   CAN'T PAY ATTENTION, DON'T YOU THINK...

The killer is the apple pie - 411 cal a slice?  I can't imagine what would make it so caloric.  It's not deep fried - it's not loaded with sugar (at least my mom's is not).

Anyway, I didn't feel like I totally overate, but it still added up to be a lot of calories.  But, I had seen this segment on TV that said that the average amount of calories consumed is usuall 5000, so I did way better than that :-)

Does anyone know if carrot cake has any nutrition in it?  It was homemade- real grated carrots and home ground whole wheat- quite a lot of oil, 2 eggs. The other treat- no salvage here- were little chocolate truffles.  I just wondered about the carrot cake.  I would think the cake at least had some fiber to it.

Don't worry, poet, the carrot cake wasn't in vain.  The real carrots, plus the addition of whole wheat flour, ensures that you're getting not only fiber but also some important vitamins too.  Don't feel bad.  I'll bet it was delicious.
Alot.
Fasted for 24 hours from Wed nite to Thru nite.

Had a Turkey wrap, a bowl of cereal and bad of popcorn for the day and about ten glasses of water.
