So how did you do?  Did you take the day off and binge or did you stick to your plan or just try to eat sensibly?

I ate everything in sight and then some.... but i am maintaining so it shouldn't be too bad.

breakfast: giant egg white frittata with lots of cheese, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and 4 pieces of toast

lunch: rum and diet coke then a glass of wine (reeeal healthy)

dinner: 2 pints of guinness, boxty wedges with cheese dip, 2 steak and mushroom things wrapped in a potatoey/crepe/boxty thing with this delicious sauce (waaay too much), and a little bit of brownie with guinness flavor ice cream.

Most delicious day of the year. Feel awful about it now though. I think I'm gonna have to gradually bring my intake back down so my body doesn't freak out.

I did pretty well, but probably ended up eating maintenance because I made pecan rolls that were about 500 calories (yikes)!

I think I only managed to do so well because dinner wasn't that great.....stuffing was horrible, mashed potatoes were horrible, I guess I got lucky :) Oh, and I stuffed myself with raw veggies during the two hours before hand.

How did you do?

I think I did pretty well, we went to dinner at 2 places and i had to make mashed potatoes and yams for about 35 people so by the time I had done that even with only a few samples I was a little turned off to food.

I had a venti mocha for breakfast with an apple and cheese stick (the mocha was the big nono of the day actually)

At 2 we ate and I had a slice of ham, some mashed potatoes without gravy (I dont really like it) a small scoop of stuffing and a roll with a little turkey and 2 deviled eggs

We ate again at 5 and I had more turkey, a small scoop of stuffing a good sized scoop of potatoes (I make amazing garlic mashed potatoes if I do say so myself)  a little scoop of green bean cassarole and a few other things but no dessert at that time.

My brother sent us home a 8 in pumpkin pie, I had a 1/4 of it (equal to a decent slice of a 10 inch pie) without whipped cream cause we did not have any and a few little gingerbread men before bed.

I am proud of myself cause i know I am capable of eating 3500 calories without batting an eye and I did not really worry what I ate I was just not that hungry and knew that if I pigged out I would feel physically and emotionally crappy later.  For me that is a big step.

We also only took home the last few scoops of mashed potatoes and the yams I took with us and the little pie which I told my BF he could have the other 3 peices of.

I think without the Mocha I did about 2000 calories actually and that sounds like a lot but at my size my intake should be closer to 2350

Breakfast (12:00pm) Chocolate soymilk & a homemade chocolate chip cookie, plus tastes of just about everything I was making.

Main Meal (4:30pm) Baby greens salad with mandarin orange dressing; cashew loaf [cashews, bread, veggie broth, onion, celery, corn, etc.] with cranberry sauce; mashed potatoes with loads of fresh pepper; maple sweet potatoes; white shoepeg corn with Earth Balance; biscuits with EB and apple butter; cucumber, baby carrots, and yellow pepper with hummous; silk nog.

Dessert (6:00pm) Chocolate chip cookie; squash bread; pecan pie with a dab of chocolate soy ice cream.

Uhh.. later (2:30am) Mashed potatoes and corn with Tony Chachere's seasoning.

I managed my only goal, which was to stay entirely vegan.  I'm guessing around 2500-3000 calories, which means I may or may not lose this week, but I won't gain.  No guilt whatsoever.  Yay! :D

i don't know how many cals i had, but i did very reasonable yesterday. i had a fiber one bar for breakfast, then just had small amounts of everything except the salad during dinner. however, leftovers are the devil because i have probably actually eaten more today than yesterday :( oh well.

ahhh i did horribly both yesterday AND today : (

YESTERDAY:

breakfast: oatmeal

lunch/dinner:

-lots and lots of turkey(white)

-4 slices of cranberry sauce

-about 5 big scoops of mashed potatoes : /

-3 rolls

-a slice of apple pie

THEN i thought i was done...but my grandmother came later, and brought more food. so then i had:

-a huge slice of pecan chocolate silk pie

-3 chocolate cranberry bars

-3 peanut butter cookies

-MORE turkey

-3 rolls

- 1 slice of cranberry sauce

then at night:

-about 2 big slices of French Silk Pie (my weakness)

AHHH. that's more than 5000 calories!

and then TODAY...

i ate the other half of the french silk pie and ate about 2000 calories of turkey and regular foods...so more than 3500 calories!

UGHHHHH

Actually I did great...seeing I was alone for Thanksgiving for the first time in 50 years...it was the two puppies and I...seeing it was just "us" I spent it eating what I normally eat....for the normal traditional turkey day I had 4 oz of processed "jennie-o cajun spiced turkey breast"...not sure I would ever call it a turkey breast...it was the most compacted turkey breast I ever ate...sadly enough other than that I did nothing different...Frown...I did treat my girls to some special scrambled eggs that morning...

I said screw it haha. it was just me and some friends though, we had papa johns whole wheat pizza (i had 3 pieces! that's first!) and some cheese cake I made. :) I did go black friday shopping that must have burned off something. haha.

Well, it is not how much I ate, I didn't pass the 2000 calories in the whole day (3 oz turkey, 1/2 c acorn squash, 1 c green beans, 1/4 c little stuffing, 2 tbs little cranberry sauce, not gravy,  1 c butternut squash soup)  but the 1/8 pie at the end of the day threw me to the floor. Way too much sugar, and eggs, and I have been eating sugarless for 4 months now. I still want to throw up.

I did alright. I only had dinner which was turkey and a little gravy and salid. I did eat the skin off part of the turkey breast. I also had a small slice of apple pie. Today I had half a turkey sandwitch for lunch and a little turkey and gravy for dinner. Sent most of the left overs with our son so should be back to my low cal plan tomorrow. Good luck to all of you.

I'm actually stressing out because even though I made sure to eat with in my 1400 calorie range, I still gained fat! My weight didn't even go up but I can tell I gained flabby fat, and I feel gross now! I had a doughnut for breakfast and a slice of pie for dessert and only went 100 calories over my usual intake Cry. Logically, I know I didn't binge but I feel like I just blew my whole week's progress

I thought I had eaten just about right, but my family was here about 3 days and when I got on the scales this morning I am up l.6 lbs...........so I suppose I wasn't as right as I thought.  But............I also was completely without exercise except cooking, serving, talking, etc so maybe the next weigh in will see those pounds gone.  One can only hope!

Barbara

I did pretty good.

  • Pre 5k breakfast: clif bar, 1/2 banana, 1 cup coffee
  • Post race: 1 banana, coffee, small bite of brother's crossiant
  • Lunch aka appetizers: 1/4 of turkey sandwich, handful of grapes
  • Thanksgiving dinner: My plate consisted of- About 5 oz of white turkey meat, 2 teaspoons gravy, 1 teaspoon gross cranberry sauce (no canned this yearUndecided), 1/2 cup of stuffing, 2/3 cup green bean/almond dish, 1 dinner roll, 1/4 cup cornbread suffle, 1 tiny bit of ham
  • Dessert: 1 piece of pumpkin pie, generous serving of cool whip, and 1 pumpkin cookie

I bet I ate maintenance which is what I was aiming for.

35 mins on stationary bike in the morning..burned about 260 calories...total caloric intake for the day was 2950 calories....a lot better than I thought I would do....backed that up with 2820 calories on Friday and 2050 calories on Saturday.  I'm actually pretty proud of myself...

I had a HUGE feast for lunch that was only 750 calories!!!  See thread here.
