thanks :)
no......wheres your strength routine?
That sounds like plenty!!! 4-5 miles is a lot! Our bodies burn calories just by living. If we laid in bed all day we'd still be burning calories. Our body is constantly working. The only thing I'd say is that maybe you could change it up a bit and do some strength training or a different type of cardio to your routine. That way you're working more muscle groups and you won't get bored!
It is great that you are keeping up with your cardiovascular fitness. However, I would also recommend that you start doing strength training. A good routine would be to lift weights on Mon/Wed/Fri and run on Tues/Thurs/Sat taking every Sunday off with no exercise. Lifting weights is the best way to transform your body.
Look into doing a full body routine with free weight compound exercises. This includes bench press, squat, deadlift, barbel row, and standing military press. Also do some bodyweight compound exercises like dips and pull-ups.
There is a formula you can use to find out how many calories per day that you need. Here it is :Women: BMR = 655 + ( 4.35 x weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years ). After you get the answer, multiply that by 1.55 and you have how many calories per day you should be getting.
Like Vyperman7 has said, I'd recommend some strength training with compound movements. It will benefit your health and fitness alongside your excellent mileage.
Hi there,
I used to run similar distances as you every day. I felt extremely fit, but only really cardio wise, I could barely do 1 push up.
If you want to go for more all round, all body fitness, challenge yourself, go with the great suggestions here. Try adding strength and resistance in to vary your routine so you don't get bored, keep your body challenged.
Since adding circuits in to my routine, I've noticed my body has changed for the better and I'm still as fit as if I were running the 4-5 miles a day just now I can do 30 push ups ;)
ooo yeah
after my runs, i do 100 sit ups and 50 push ups and 6o of squats and lunges.
i think your fine......?
why do you have to be so sendentary for the rest of the day? if it makes you feel guilty, clean the house or somethign :)
