I have been scanning my iPod to get a play list together that will motivate me and help me when I work out.

I want to know what everyone else is listing to.  My current theme song is "Be Healthy" by Dead Prez.  I have listed the lyrics below.  It is a hip hop song, but I am open to most anything.

Its all love . . .

I dont eat no meat, no dairy, no sweets
Only ripe vegetables, fresh fruit and whole wheat
Im from the old school, my household smell like soul food, bro
Curried falafel, barbecued tofu
No fish though, no candy bars, no cigarettes
Only ganja and fresh-squeezed juice from oranges
Exercising daily to stay healthy
And I rarely drink water out the tap, cause its filthy

Lentil soup is mental fruit
And ginger root is good for the youth
Fresh veg-e-table with the ital stew
Sweet yam fries with the green calalloo
Careful how you season and prepare your foods
Cause you dont wanna lose vitamins and miner-ules
And thats the jewel
Life brings life, its valuable, so I eat what comes
From the ground, its natural
Let your food be your medicine (uh huh)
No excederin (uh uh)
Strictly herb, generate in the sun, cause I got melanin
And drink water, eight glasses a day
Cause thats what they say

They say you are what you eat, so I strive to be healthy
My goal in life is not to be rich or wealthy
Cause true wealth comes from good health, and wise ways
We got to start taking better care of ourselves

They say you are what you eat, so I strive to be healthy
My goal in life is not to be rich or wealthy
Cause true wealth comes from good health, and wise ways
We got to start taking better care of ourselves, be
Healthy yall . . .

interesting question!  i dunno - maybe "If God is a DJ" by Pink.  even though i'm a rabid atheist ;)

Interesting question for me because the music I listen to when I work out is a lot different than the music I listen to everywhere else in life. I love alternative and listen almost exclusively to it but I have to have a good beat to work out so my iPod has songs like Kanye's Work Out Plan and I Got It From My Mama by will.i.am. I'll have to think about this one going through my mix tomorrow and pick an official theme song.

At the moment, I've been using "Push It" by Garbage to really move me forward in my routine.  I don't really pay attention to lyrics all that often, but I suppose they're fitting too.

Okay, so this will sound very sad and cheesy. But, I'm trying to recover from an ED, and I found that, ah, "Beat It" by Michael Jackson (or the Fall Out Boy cover, I like them both) worked so well for me in my early stages of recovery! I need to troll through my playlist, though, think about it a bit more when I have time!

"Don't Worry! Be Happy!"

In addition to eating clean and getting some exercise, a positive mindset keeps you focused.  And when you occasionally "blow it", a positive attitude keeps the guilt feelings at bay. (I have found that guilt sabotages me)

I don't have one about being healthy but tons that keep me motivated.

Will Smith-Getting Jiggy with it.

Christina Aguilara-Fighter

Buck Cherry-Crazy Bitch (for the beat) and because I am a little crazy

Really into Shaggy right now

Pantera-Paralyzer

I like big butts, i cannot lie,

you other brothers cant deny

when a girl walks in with a itybity waist and abig butt in ya face....!

Only joking. But seriously those are weird lyrics for a rap song you mentioned. Cant see Puff Daddy tucking into tofu and steam veg.
Mine's definitely Gloria Gaynor's 'I will survive'.....!  (One for the oldsters there).   Addressed to the formerly unhealthy lifestyle that I fondly refer to as my 'Fat Elvis Period'... and sung at top volume.

Go on now go.... Walk out the door.  Just turn around now. 'Cause you're not welcome any more!

a lot of heavy metal but mostly TooL...my current playlist for working out is:

Sweat, Hush, Part of Me, Jerk-Off [Live], Intolerance, Prison Sex, Undertow, 4 degrees, Forty Six & 2, Hooker With a Penis, Jimmy, Parabola, Vicarious

I know the song titles seem to be a bit much but they're really good fast paced songs, great drumming and great timing to keep me moving while exerscizing.

I also have a full-on Duran Duran playlist too for those times when I am feeling a bit 80's Laughing

Love that one! Listen to it at least once a day when working out.

I happen to really like Use Your Love by Katy Perry when I'm working out. I think it's because I listen to the lyrics and think about 'someone' I'm trying to get in shape for :D

And System Of A Down! Listen to Chop Suey, that will REALLY get you kickin'. So will BYOB and Toxicity.

I also like Keep It Up by Danger Radio. That's a pop-y song along with Katy Perry's. SOAD is more angry metal.

OH OH OH! And Envy On The Coast has greeeeat angry rock songs I like to listen to while running. They're really talented. Listen to Mirrors; The Gift of Paralysis; and Sugar Skulls.

Played by Mindless Self Indulgence.  :D
Lol, or Last Time I Tried to Rock your World by the same band.

Last time I am stupid enough
To think that I could rock your ------ world
It ain't like no fat mother------'s gonna listen to me anyway
You know I'm only around here for a couple more years
yo if I am really lucky

Hmm, personally, I listen to a menagerie of songs from different genres whilst working out.

Those that come to mind would be:  Thousand foot krutch, mozart, michael jackson, apocolyptica, and saving abel mostly, as well as whatelse might fall into the Zune.

The Benny Hill theme all the way baby~

Mindless Self Indulgence. Dragonforce, Smashing Pumpkins and 'No Feelings' by the Sex Pistols are all on my 'workout' playlist :'D

How about "baby's got her blue jeans on" by Sammy Kershaw (country, for those of you who don't know him). Then imagine that it's you he is singing about. Makes me feel better.

*cough* (slips on the glasses and turns on the mp3 player)

I dont Feel like Dancing - The scissor sisters.

Dont Judge me!!!!!!  just listen to it, and you will see why. you just start bopping and cant stop!!!! WOOO!!!!! (bops around town)

Ok, so i just had to add.... THANKYOU FOR THIS POST! i didnt want to work out today and then you made me put on that song and i just danced around my house, thats gotta be some good cardio!
