hi again everyone
so i had to gain some weight lately but im going to lose it safely soon, and yes my dr knows ;) and so does my mom. and no i havent updated my pro. *sigh*.
anyhow, one of the things i LOVED about my low weight body was that sexy gap between my thighs. its virtually gone now, but i miss it :'(. i had it when i was like 2 lbs underweight but that was also without muscle.
so i was wondering, how much underweight do you have to be to get rid of those little blobs of fat on the upper/inner thigh? i think for more muscular people its easier, but just wondering. \
bye!

You are playing with fire littlefroggie. People your age should not be restricting calories at all. The information here on CC is geared towards full grown adults. If you have talked to your doctor, then the doctor is the one to address questions to.
I believe what you are looking for here is approval to do something unhealthy. You won't get it from me.
By the way, how, exactly, are legs so scrawny there's a gap between the thighs sexy? Skeletons have a big gap there don't they?

Thank you for that reply, clairelaine. I wasn't sure what to say.
Legs look nice when they're curvy and muscular at the same time. Even women w/o much fat on their thighs but with much muscle won't have much of a gap.
Love your body for what it is. It's yours, and everyone who cares about you will love it too. It took me awhile to learn that fact, but I eventually did. Keep your mentality healthy and the body will easily follow after that

little frogie.... you need to listen to claire. I will say my legs have always been the one thing about me that I have been happy with- Love my legs! BUt I will say the gap you are talking about....shouldnt be a gap.
My thighs are in great shape, Im not under weight and my inner thighs barely dont touch. if you want to be smart dont be under weight- do some light exercise to stay healthy.
Sit on the edge of a coffee table and do leg lifts and that will tone your inner thighs. If you cut your calories to be underweight so you can drop that inner thigh "fat" then you are headed for long road. You are going to lose it there.
Be healthy and smart.

that gap isnt sexy. i dont have one and i think i have pretty dang sexy legs. the only people i've noticed with gaps between their legs are the ones that get plastic surgery regularly (aka hollywood people) and little girls. if you think looking like a little girl or a fake, unnatural person is attractive i guess that's your opinion. but i would rather look like a woman.
i dont like that gap, and i dont have one and i'm okay with that. I spoke to my hubby about it and he doesnt like them either. Most men i have known don't like it - i'm not suggestig you want it to be attractive to men but its just something i've noted over the years. I agree with missybear on what she says, it is child-like to have that gap.
yeah im really thin and my thighs dont touch but only JUST barely... i have absolutely no hips.... sometimes it doesnt have to do with weight.. just the way youre built
littlefroggie, I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to look sexy, and if you think they look sexy, then that's okay. I don't condone going underweight to achieve it, though. However, talk to a weight trainer and ask what exercises you can do to tighten up the inner thighs.
I did a google search for "exercise inner thighs" and found this group of exercises. You might try some of them.

Since I've been putting on muscle and maintaining, I've notice that my legs are slowly starting to get slimmer and that gap is starting to show up if I wear super tight jeans (which I don't because I'll get a yeast infection or something).
You are just like most of us women, pear shaped. So that gap does not occur naturally, you'll need to gain muscle to get it.

I'm not underweight. I have a thigh gap. I love my thigh gap.
I miss my thigh gap... My thighs never used to know each other... now they are like best friends, never apart... jerks...
My thighs don't touch... I'm not underweight. (5'7" 133 lbs, 20 BMI). Maybe it's not "sexy" to some people, but it's not an indicator of being underweight either.
I agree, everyone's bodies are built different and everyone loses weight differently too. Some have the gap, some dont... It all depends on body frame and haow/where you hold weight.
I agree w/ a lot of what was said above. Work on toning the muscles to slim down your thighs rather than trying to get underweight for that purpose.
I have contemplated the thigh gap and I had to laugh when I read that because I am glad I am not alone. I strive for that all the way but I am convinced that some people are just not built that way. I have looked back at pics when I was young...(very tall and skinny) and I never had "the gap". I just think we are all just different:-)
This really irritates me,because it is genetic. It is just how and where you put on weight.
I was at 7% bodyfat and working my inner thighs all the time and my still touched at the top... my advice is wait until you are 20 and then get liposuction cuz that is the only way you are gonna have that thigh gap if it is not in your genetics.

Let me add to my previous comment...I was also at the gym working out for 4 hours a day 5 days a week. Downhill skiing twice a week and Dancing every weekend for at least 3hours. My thighs never ever had the gap.
Yeah, My husband loves my thighs and i don't have a gap. The girls in the magazines with the gap are airbrushed. Most women don't have the gap
wow i just got totally flamed :D
see i like it and it seems nice to me so i want it. im one of those people, y'know? anywho, i had it at 5'3'' and 105 lbs. but i was untoned, so i was wondering cuz im at 113 now cuz of the dr. :'( when i get toned i was hoping it would be easier to get it back.

I had it when I was just 107 lbs and 5'1. You don't have to be underweight to have it, and some people's bodies are just built differently than others.
I would say that if you gained muscle on your legs and lost some fat by exercising and eating healthy, you will probably notice that your theighs look leaner and don't rub together as much when you walk or sit.
Honestly, a specific attribute like a "gap" between your theighs should not be what you're aiming for. That sounds alot like the wishes of an anorexic; and I should know because I used to be.
Little noticable and measurable things like that are like checkpoints to an anorexic. I'd forget about it, and if you think you simply can't get over it, I would recommend talking to a therapist.
