What about thighs?

Quote  |  Reply
I know this subject has been touched one too many times. But what are the best exercises for losing a couple of inches on your thighs without gaining a massive amount of muscle? I have overall lost alittle over 35lbs and still see my thighs a bit chunky at 19 inches wide (5'6 - 118-120lbs?) I've been told my thighs don't look bad at 19 inches although I see alittle extra flab (and wibbly wobbly)  in the inner thigh. I want to firm them an shrink them without gaining too much muscle and losing my thighs femininity.

I know you can't do spot reduction, I wouldn't mind losing more in the rest of my body.. just as long as my thighs don't appear as chunky as I see them. I exercise almost daily? Except for occasional breaks on Sundays. I guess I've consentrated too much on my abdominal and arm area rather than my thighs.  I do lundges every full moon =D and yoga-esque leg strectches daily.

Any advice?

from the description number whise you thighs sounds fine but at the gym there are these machines that you sqeeze thighs in (i squeeze twenty lbs haha) and another where you push outward. hese tone your muscles. then another is lying on your side bottom leg at a 45% angle and lift your leg. do three sets of 15 for each side with 45 second rests inbetween sets. But the key is to do cardio running biking elliptical this will be the best to melt thighs and the other execises make sure they are beauiful tone legs when they fat comes off or else they'll still be soft even if they are smaller
just keep doing cardio and leg extensions and leg curls and squats will work the entire leg and get your legs in shape. the machines that you squeeze your legs together and a part(adduction and abduction) will not work the area your want, the primary movers for those motions are muscle deep inside your hips that you cant see, you need to work your quadriceps and hamstrings and that is all you need.
the machine where you do the leg squeezes and the one where you push it out work the inner and outer thigh. they're called hipextensions im pretty sure. I had asked the trainers to point them out specifically. But I probably don't describe the machine well enough.
Rosalyn and Body Science, thank you. I will definitely try these exercises.
If you don't want them to get too big, try to do lower weight with more reps.
