Things I will not give up...
Do you have foods that you will not give up for the sake of the last four pounds? Do you make compromises elsewhere?
For example, I will not give up full fat milk and sugar in tea and coffee. Its a little luxury that adds far more to my happiness than the itsy bitsy decrease on the scale would. I compensate by excluding margarine and butter on bread whenever possible, substituting it for low-fat mayo, sauces or fat-free cottage cheese.
What are your food items that are "must-have" luxuries, and what missable items do you cut out to compensate for those extra calories?
I understand completely where your coming from. I cannot give up ice cream what so ever. Yes, i know its horrible for you, but i get the low-fat or sherbet to get that fix i need. I dont over indulge myself with it, so it helps me get that little craving in!
Hmmm I don't really cut much out to have it although there are a lot of things I use to eat a heck of a lot more of that are very limited now ~ like pizza, crisps and mince pies. I just don't eat that extra sandwich like I use to for lunch and limit myself to one slice of cheese (60 cals) instead of several lol. I also love dairy but use low fat milk (1.6%) which to me tastes just as good as full fat (3.6%) and sugar in my tea and coffee, but I don't drink lots of milk like I use to and the sugar in my 3-4 hot drinks is usually the only sugary thing I will have in any given day, so I don't worry about that at all. I'm more into savoury tastes than sweet ones anyway
I've also found a great yummy pizza that is about half the cals of an ordinary pizza so I can still eat half of one of these for dinner and be within my calories!
I don't know what it is but I just can't give up peanut butter or ice cream.
No matter how hard I try to resist, I can't say no ![]()
The only peanut butter I have now is in a peanut butter, banana smoothy (made with low-fat yogurt and skim milk) - it is perfect for breakfast or on the go!
I also eat real fruit frozen yogurt popsicles (only 50 cals each) for desert (3 times per week)!
