Thank you for posting the link. I think that many uses here are from the States, so for them it's definitely important to know that.

Here in Europe where I am from and live in, we don't really have cases like that, the rules are quite strict about putting things out in the market that are meant for human consumption. Most products don't work obviously, but they wouldn't kill you either (unless you're allergic or something).

In any case it's best to avoid products like that, and if you need to take a supplement, always do so in collaboration with your doctor.

To help me reducing my appetite in the evening I am taking this natural product.

LOL I was just going to post 'don't do it, it's not worth it!' for you, but nevermind. :) I totally agree!

I wouldn't recommend diet supplements other than a mulivitamin and protien powder. Once you stop taking diet pills, the weight comes back 98 percent of the time. More activity than what you are currently doing and healthy food intake (hate the word diet)!  No need to spend your resources on diet pills, there is a better (and more sustainable way).

crowdedminds, I hope you understand that just because a product is natural or comes from natural ingredients doesn't mean it's safe. Hey, opium comes from a natural plant too, right? If that's not what you meant (natural = good, awesome, great, and infallible), then I'm sorry for misinterpreting.

I'm actually worried about my friend. She's in a bit of a hurry to lose weight, and so is taking diet pills. One of them has made her really jittery and sweat a lot, so she just switched to a different brand. I warned her gently yesterday, but she seems to enjoy the upped metabolism...

That is indeed true sauvignon, which I why I do my research -  the pills that I take for instance don't do anything to my metabolism (I would not touch anything that invasive), they only help me reduce my appetite so that I do not overeat during dinner  Wink

Good luck with your friend though.

About 6 months ago I felt hopeless about my weight and decided to get Hydroxycut pills to help speed up my weightloss. In the back of my mind I knew that it would be a waste of time/money but I went ahead and bought them anyway. I was drawn in by Hydroxycut's before/after pics and claims.

I took the pills for 2 days and couldn't handle it any longer. My eyes were completely dried out, I had constant dry mouth and I got flank pain (where my kidneys were). I looked up some of the individual ingredients online and the side effects were quite scary. The symptoms I got made me question if the pills could lead to kidney problems so I stopped taking them. Hopefully my limited use didn't do any permanent damage.

It doesn't surprise me that cases of liver failure have been linked to Hydroxycut. Thank you so much skookum for posting this article. I hope people stay away from these dangerous pills.
