third trimester nausea?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm 29.5 weeks and pretty much feel like throwing up every time I eat. I've been eating smaller amounts of food but still feel sick after, e.g. and apple and some peanut butter.

I'm pretty much forcing myself to eat as much as I can to make sure I get enough calories and nutrition but some days I don't quite make it and if I do it's very uncomfortable. I've only actually thrown up a couple times, but that's before I cut down on how much I was eating at one time.

Any suggestions??

I puked my guts out in my 3rd.  I seriously puked 7 times one day.  I ended up getting really dehydrated and decided it was time to see the doc.  She said it just happens sometimes.  So she prescribed me Phenergan.  It's an anti-nausea pill.  Now they have a fancy gel you can rub into your skin so you don't puke up the pill.  My son was prescribed it when he had Swine Flu and I had to have it the whole time I was in labor.

Anyway, make sure you don't get dehydrated and definitely talk to your doc.  Don't let it get so bad you have to be hospitalized.

And doesn't it suck being prego and puking??  It's kinda hard to reach the toilet, let alone get up off the floor!  I lost it at a Sonic one day outside...I find their trash cans to be a lot easier to puke in! Laughing  Sorry, had to add a little humor!

Thanks for the respons aubbs!

Wow, my nausea doesn't sound nearly as bad now! 7 times a day???

I'm out of town now but have a Dr appointment early next week when I get back home--I'll definitely be asking. Thanks!!

Hi, my nausea has returned in the third trimester too, but it's not bad at all.  I think it is due to my vitamin.  I find if I take it without a meal I will get nauseated.  Sometimes I get nauseated from it anyway so I try to take it before bed.  One thing that helped my nausea in the first trimester was Unisom.  It was a miracle for me.  I took it before bed and the next day my nausea would be almost non-existent.

I am 31 weeks along and still getting sick also. Not nearly as much as I did, but still....I do find that eating MUCH smaller quanities help. I just eat more often. I also know the trigger foods. Ice cream, instantly sick...A whole chocolate candy bar, instantly sick. BUT if I just have a couple of bites of a candy bar I am ok. Can't wait til this is done!!
