i think everyone should stop stressing and take more of a laid back approach to diet except just never miss your scheduled workouts. i think its a lot easier if everyone just stopped worrying so much...

what if you didnt lose that 1 pound this week and ur at the same weight... change something weigh yourself again and if it doesnt work who cares mann just step back do your thing and just relax about this the weight will eventually come off.

While de-stressing is always a good thing.. I think for some of us at least.. not worrying too much is part of the reason we got overweight.   Tongue out

I agree with you. I used to be a major stresser. I would want to cry if I wasn't losing, and I was weighing myself all the time. While, not thinking about it at all will cause me to gain weight, I follow a different plan. I spend a few days writing down everything I eat, and making sure it falls in my calorie limit, as well as being balanced and healthy. Then I eat that same day of food over and over until I am sick of those foods, and then I switch. While some people may not be able to stand repetative meals, I have found that it takes a way a ton of the stress. I don't have to worry about what I am eating, because I already know how many calories are in my day's total. I also don't freak out if I don't lose as much as I had hoped one week, because I either know that I am in my limits and I am probably bloated (or I know that I ate a few things out of the norm :)) It is much easier for me to enjoy my life and my new healthy changes, when I am not constantly obessing about calories and food and weightloss.

I agree.  I have actually found that the more diligent I am in writing things down and counting calories, the more I mess up or even sabatoge myself.  Its like if I know that I technically could eat a few more calories and not be over my maintenence number, then I will.  I also think its important to learn how to just be normal.  When i read threads titled: "Help! There is a snack in front of me! What do I do?"  it makes me kind of sad because eating shouldnt be that stressful.  More than anything I just want to learn how to be a normal  person.  I dont want to watch every morsel I eat, I just want to learn to eat without being excessive in general.

I think it's definitely good not to stress too much, but worrying a little helps me lose weight. If I am a little worried about it, I am less likely to eat that cookie, whereas if I am not stressing at all, I'll just be like "Whatever, it's just one cookie." and scarf it down.
