People often decide that God loves or doesn't love them based on their behavior or appearance. Human beings love conditionally - and in many cases, those who struggle with weight issues bear the brunt of teasing, ostracizing, or other displays of love loss. But God loves unconditionally. He looks at your heart, not your physical body. Of course, he cares about your health - but whether or not you "live by the dieting rules" doesn't affect His love for you. God wants to give you His best. This includes great health - both internally and externally. He wants you to be healthy spiritually, but He also wants to provide for you psychologically and emotionally. This is the gift of a loving God. He doesn't change.
God loves us so much that He took the first initiative to reach the fallen human race. From the beginning, He was engaged, and He desperately wants to build a relationship with you.
"God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds."
—Hebrews 1:1-2
Do you ever forget where you left the keys or look at your schedule and can't remember which appointment you have next week? The Bible tells us to pay constant attention to what we've learned because our brains tend to lose information over time. That's why a committed devotional life is so important.
"Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away."
—Hebrews 2:1
In life, we often become blinded by pride and find ourselves stuck with the consequences of a bad decision. The chasm between you and God seems massive, but the good news is that there's nothing God can't handle!
Verse: "And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: 'Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?' The king answered and said, 'The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.' So they answered and said before the king, 'That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.' And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him."
—Daniel 6:12-14

"When Bad Things Happen to God's People" - The fact that Daniel survived the lions' den raises a really important question: The Bible says that no injury whatever was found on Daniel because he believed in His God. But how do we reconcile the story of Daniel with the harsh realities of day-to-day disappointment? What should we make of the millions of people who also believed in God but didn't survive their ordeals?
Verse: "Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God."
—Daniel 6:23

"When Bad Things Happen to God's People"
Yes, Gods people are under scrutiny. People look towards us and say, if you are a child of God why has that happened to a Christian like you. Then as a christian, you again wonder yourself, "Yes, why has this happened to me".
Let go and Let GOD. Keep our family in prayer as we go through this phase of unemployment. It is difficult and I am afraid, I think I am not fully trusting in the Lord Our God. Prayers for a stronger faith.
May the Lord be with you all and have a blessed Christmas season. I am already thinking of the Christ child.
God Bless
Many people have let one of today's predominant worldviews bully them into thinking that faith and reason don't belong together. Christians are sometimes referred to as uninformed simpletons even though there are bright Christian minds contributing to the scientific community. Peter reassures us that our faith is reasonable and defensible, and we can stand on what the Bible tells us!
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear." —1 Peter 3:15

Trying to solve the problem of sin on your own is like sleeping in a bed that's too short, or trying to use a blanket that's too small. Human efforts can't ultimately fix the sin problem, but the solution can be found at the cross of Christ. Rest in God's forgiveness and you will find peace!
"For the bed is too short for a man to stretch out on, and the covering so narrow that he cannot wrap himself in it." —Isaiah 28:20
