I don't have a scale yet, but things seem to be going pretty well. I took my measurements and almost every single one dropped from the last measurements I took. I'll probably walk down to Wal-Mart to buy a new scale tomorrow, because the one I've got isn't working anymore. Anyway, I should get to bed, it's already almost 3:00 in the morning.
These are my measurements now (in inches):
Neck: 16.3
Biceps: 14.5
Forearm: 10.9
Chest: 50
Waist: 43
Hips: 47
Thigh: 25
Calf: 17
These are the old measurements:
Neck: 16
Biceps: 15
Forearm: 12.2
Chest: 53
Waist: 43.4
Hips: 48
Thigh: 23.5
Calf: 18
I walked down to Wal-Mart and bought a new scale. I don't think this weigh-in will be very accurate, as I ate before weighing and it wasn't right in the morning and all that, but it came out to 135.8. ![]()
I think next week is weigh ins on Thursday. So, be sure to weigh first hing in the morning (after you use the bathroom, but b4 you eat/drink anything!)
Well, we decided to get a treadmill. It is an older one, we got it from my husband's parents. They weren't using it, hadn't for a few years, but it works. I have been getting on it for 30 minutes 5 days a week. I have been eating a little more lately, I guess because I'm exercising more now.
did pretty okay in June. I think it’s fair to say I gave at least 85%. Lost 5 lbs and no binges so def. things to be thankful for! But (as is usual for me) a couple of my weekends got a little out of control and I need to learn to deal with all that temptation a bit better.
My Commitments To July: I want to do FANTASTIC in July. Fewer red days, working through my hormones and my moods a bit better, etc. I want to kick July’s TEETH IN!! I want to lose an absolute minimum of 5 lbs and FINALLY hit my 30 lbs gone mark. (I feel like I keep saying that, over and over, but I can get it! And there’s no reason NOT to get it this month.) I want to get OUT of the 250’s and never be here, again. It might be a bit much to ask for, but I’d REALLY love to have another binge-free month. You girls pulled my butt out of the fire at least once when things were starting to spiral out of control and I thank you loads for that!
Weekly Goal Summary: Drink my water, get 30+ minutes of exercise 5 days a week, keep my weekly “free” day(s) closer to maintenance calories, refrain from binging.

This summer is getting away from me... But at least I am not gaining any weight because I am so busy.
If June 11 was weigh-in, then June 25 should have also been one (but everyone forgot to weigh-in, including me!). That means the next weigh-in is this Thursday 7/9.

I'm going to start with TMI - Sorry! But, I figure that if I am going to join, you should have a chance to see what you're getting!
I'm a mom, foster mom, and babysitter (UGH!). I was a Type-A career woman for nearly 20 years before this drastic life change. About 5 years ago I left full time employement for longer hours and no pay as a stay-at-home mom to my then 2 year old son. We had a foster child in our home for over a year, he just left a month ago. This was a major challenge and continues to be difficult. For the summer, I am watching my best friends 2 daughters 3 days week while she is at work. This too is a challenge.
I have fought and surrendered to my weight for my entire life. You name it, I've tried it!
I think this is the challenge for me! I just started 2 days ago. But, I weighed this morning and am down 1/2 pound (but, from my all time highest ever)! 7/9/09 = 205.5

Have finally hit my 50lb loss mark. (51.6 lbs total now) I have even been losing the last 2 weeks as I have tried to ween myself off of everyday (everything) calorie counting and trying to go with an 'eating smartly' train of thought. I am still getting in gym workouts and all, and I'm still loosing. So, this is good. Wanted to try to normalize or simplify my life a little bit. So, it's working so far. I still want to lose about 35 lbs....unless I get to a point where I feel like I look & feel good enough. (As I have obtained quite a bit of muscle. My mom says I look a lot less than my actual weight.....but then, maybe Moms just say that??)

Hi everyone! I'd like to join in please. Here's some info on me. My name is Tammy, 44 yrs old, mom of two (ages 22 and 16) and married to a great man 14 yrs in Sept. We've been together 19 yrs so we know eachother well!
I began losing weight in Oct '07. SW was 240 lbs, my all-time high. I went down to 170 lbs then got lazy and started eating stupidly and gained 18 lbs back! So now I weigh 186. I've lost 2 lbs this past week. My goal is 160 lbs. Yep, I was 10 lbs away from it. I weighed 170 lbs for 8 months and got tired of trying, I guess.
Well, that's me. I can't wait to get to know you all.

Absolutely. It is a slow process. Keep at it......it will go! Great job on your 1lb loss! It has taken me 6 1/2 months to lose 53lbs.
I've been losing weight since Oct '07. I started at 240 lbs and went down to 170 lbs then gained bc I got to relaxed. But I caught it and now I'm back! I just didn't want to see the 180's ever again. It took me a long time to get out of them before and now I'm there again. :(
My goal for now is 160 lbs then decide if I want to get lower than that. My hubby likes alittle meat on my bones! LOL

Really, since results have not been updated in sooooooooooo long, I can't remember when the next weigh in is! ;) But, it is usually on a Thusday. Ah well, at least you are still down a pound regardless of your weekend!
Would someone be willing to start a new challenge forum for moms and update it so all those who are currently interested in doing this challenge can communicate? It looks like this was started in January and hasn't been updated since May?
