Tonight we actually had something not on the meal plan because we needed something really fast. So we had Tortilla chips with homemade bean dip. The bean dip consisted of cheese sauce, refried beans, homemade salsa (which was wonderful but a little too spicy by itself), and of course black olives. It was delicious. And of course hubby had to bring home this awesome shrimp cheeseball. It is so addictive. Tomorrow night we will probably have the beef, mushroom, and zucchini kabobs. If someone else makes the shrimp rolls before I get to them please tell me how you liked them. I will probably make mine over the weekend or maybe Friday.
I am going to try the shrimp rolls...I have to buy the ingredients today, so I will let you know how they turn out. I have a feeling there won't be any complaining here!! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!!!!!
My sister sent me some cookies yesterday. They are called Tim Tams, and she used to eat them when she lived in Australia...they are like the Oreo there. Well, she found them at Target and sent me 3 boxes.....and they have 180 cals and 10 fat grams for 2!!!!! I am happy to say I ate a bite of one, and have not touched them since! (Go ME!!) Man, I hate yummy temptations!
Hi, I would love to join up. I'm really trying to maintain but that still takes a lot of work and I need the support to help keep me on track. I'm up a few pounds more then I wanted so I'm back in losing mode.
I'm a almost 38 year old, SAHM of one 2 1/2 year old daughter. I have been on CC for almost a year and have lost over 50 pounds since then but I've lost over a hundred on my journey since Hallie was born. (Toot Toot) Now for the hard part of staying this way for the rest of my life. I threw out all of my big clothes and won't re buy them again unless I get pregnant and since the first one was IVF I don't think that will happen again.
I still like to over eat and if I have a pizza in front of me It will all disapear. (Even a large one as long as no one is there to see.) I'll also finish off the beer! ( Even with everyone looking)
My weight on Jan 22nd was 126.4
Welcome Leanne and congrats! Way to go!!! Definately excited for you!!! :) I'll add you to the list but put a * beside your name because you're at your normal weight :) Please pass on any tips, advice, recipes, and just any ideas to help us get back in shape or for the first time!
As for me, my husband wants to get in shape again, too (we've both gained weight with the babies and just being lazier and eating badly!) and he went and bought an inexpensive weight-lifting set. So I'm going to start doing that for some toning, especially with the leg lifts as I can definatley feel the abs, hips, and leg muscles working. I can't wait to walk again when the weather's warm enough and not rainy (have to take my 4yo and 1yo). I'll take every random day we get!
I'll try some of the recipes coming across the board. I'm making fajitas & tacos tonight.. the latter mostly for the kids but I like mine so much I'll be eating one! I just bought some frozen shrimp so I might try that this weekend although I was going to make it scampy w/ spaghetti or linguini (wheat pasta).
I don't know if you can find them but Ole brand makes a "extreme wellness wrap" They are a 8 inch tortilla wrap that come in spinach and tomato flavors as well as wheat and they are only 71 to 76 calories each and 11 grams of fiber. They make wonderful thin crust pizza. or crunchy chips if you microwave or bake them. Fajitas and tacos can be your friends
Frusteration and stress are triggers for me....I just experienced it.
I did the treadmill today, and then got me and my daughter ready to go out....we needed it since we were home all day yesterday...and I had a few things I needed to get.
So, I got us all ready and we got in the car, and the battery is DEAD. I think it is because it hasn't been started in a couple weeks, since my hubby was off last week, and it was cold here...I don't really know what the problem is....All I know is it is DEAD. (It is an older car, so who knows)
Well, I got frusterated and came in and ate 500 caolries worth of stuff...even though I was doing good and on track for the day....*SIGH***** I know it isn't the worst thing that I could have done, and I ate fairly healthy, satisfying foods...but I hate that I did it. Oh well.....
DANG CAR![]()
Okay internet is fixed finally. I was going a bit crazy but I did well with writing everything down and logging once or twice a day.
Leanne- Good to see you here. And I will have to get some of those wraps if I can find them. I make a lot of "pizza" sort of things with wraps and a lower cal high fiber one would be great!
team-malone- Sorry to hear about the car but at least you now know what triggers. And yes you could have done a lot worse than 500 calories. Maybe next time you feel something like that coming on you can wait a set amount of time. then after that time is over if you still want it, then eat it. But more than likely you won't feel that urge anymore.
Stephanie- It is funny you say that you and hubby both are getting in shape. We did the same thing. He started losing before me. Well, we were doing it through exercise only. And I slowly(very slowly) lost weight but since he is a machine (sometimes literally) he lost over 100 pounds with exercise. He would diet occasionally. Like fruits and veggies and protein but he never counted calories. But as much as he worked out he could have eaten whatever and still lost weight. He is at maintanence now. When I combined both exercise and diet, though, everything started working.
Hope everyone is doing okay. Trying to get caught up on everything. Talk to all the ladies later!
Good morning to all. I'm snowed in in CT but it could be a lot worse, our family in KY say the state is pretty much just shut down. At least we have power and it looks like we won't have to many problems.
I think Hallie and I will have to paint a few masterpieces in between laundry loads. My DH said he would be home early so I might be able to get a little me time as well.
Hallie was up several times last night. She still is in a crib (at 2 1/2) and when she has to go potty she asks me to get her out and put her on the toilet. (She won't use her little potty and she's not quite able to get up on the big on by herself.) If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it. I guess I'm just thankful that I don't have to wash diapers anymore.
I went out to eat with friends last night and the food was wonderful and I think I made good choices but I did end the meal with a glass of port. It was the best choice for dessert on the menu
.
Carlyn I'm happy to see you as well. I hate it when my computer is on the fritz. I'm glad your up and running.
team-malone now that you know your trigger you can face it head on. It might be helpful to have a few low cal snacks on hand that you can just grab quickly. I myself like to "binge on things I have to cook first. Like baked squash sticks or pizza (Homemade low cal) I find the preparing part helps calm me down.
Sephanie I love your family pic. You must be very organised to handle...your life. I just couldn't think of a better word, sorry. I do well to take care of just the 3 of us (DH, DD, and me) I will say play time must be fun. I often wish I could have another.
Godmissiongal My folks are visiting from Maine this weekend and they are going to bring a lot of shrimp I'm planning on lots of shrimp rolls and shrimp salad and just plain old peel and eat shrimp. At 78 cents a pound with the head on you just can't beat the price. (They also freeze well if water packed)
Good morning. Has been pretty good. I slept in this morning. Normally I try to get up at about 6am to get my workout done before Sebastian (toddler) gets up. I got up but was so sore from yesterday's resistance that I decided I needed a little more rest. I switch up my resistance routine every four weeks so yesterday was new to me and I really feel it today. But I did get my jog done. Sebastian is so good and I guess he is just used to it by now. He stays in his playpen with his snack and a few toys and watching his "shows". He will do that for about an hour before he starts telling me he wants out.
leanne- I am in the potty training stage as well. He is trained on his "number 2" and I don't have to deal with that anymore unless he just has an outright accident. But the other he is just stubborn. They say boys are harder to train than girls and he is showing it. Unless he has incentive (a drink of juice, gummies, or some kind of snack he likes) he won't tell me he has to pee and will just go. Then he will come tell me he's wet. Lots of laundry. He is so big, that I won't pay for diapers/pull - ups anymore unless its nap time or bed time he just wears underwear. (The thick training kind.) I am sure he be done when he is ready I guess. And I don't have much advice for you on yours. I still have a 2 year old in the bed with me. (Created a bad habit, I know, I know.)
So, my weight is going steadily down. I finally broke the 125 mark today and was so happy. I feel like if I can keep up at this rate that I will be to goal in another month or two. Okay laides. Talk to everyone later.
hehe i found you! just touching bases.
my friend and i have been walking the mall a few times a week, lately.. or trying to, shes been sick alot lately too. So we do about 2 hours there (pushing my 3 yo) (maybe sharing a pretzel between the 3 of us :P) and i do about 30 min around my apt complex, we have ALOT of stairs and i try to take em 2 at a time to get that lunge effect.
For dinner tonight im making "chicken parm" (pan seared chicken breast coated in herbs) over smart pasta.
So who is having a super bowl party? We're going to have a few friends over, and ill TRY to keep the eating fairly healthy... (but w wings n sub sandwiches, n chips, n chili, n corn bread) it wont be easy. I will put out a big platter of veggies and fruit to fill up on. But im going to enjoy a margarita or 3 LOL (n we got grandpa to watch the lil one for the day :D)
So i got off track this past weekend! :( We had my mom keep our 2 lil ones and we went out for the evening. So had some beers (they were LItes) then afterwards had to have my Sheetz stop (there food is the best at 2am) and then my hubbie took me out for a nice greasy breakfast sunday morning! Im defintly paying back for it now, i feel like i gained weight! But me and my mom started taking our Zumba classes again! I love them and I highly recommend them. Can anyone give me an example of what a daily menu would be for yourself! Thanks :)

B: Fiber one, 2 slices turkey bacon (305)
S1: Protein Shake (310)
L: Shrimp Rice, fruit salad (300)
S2: Fiber bar, PB (200)
D: Chicken Tacos (basically whatever cals I have left, love my tacos!)
There is a forum thread where we post daily what we eat. Basically to try and map out our day before we have it and to see about how many calories we will be having throughout the day. My days are usually pretty much the same for breakfast and my first snack. Need to get my protein and fiber. I usually eat anywhere between 1400-1800 depending on my activity for the day. To be honest though, my meals now are pretty much the same as they were before I started dieting but I exercise portion control and weigh everything as well. I tried eating clean for a while but didn't notice much of a difference and figured if I am going to be working myself this hard why not enjoy it slightly.
So, I got up this morning and walked for an hour and now I need to get my butt up and do my resistance routine. Been putting it off because I am still slightly sore from Tuesday's. Have a good day ladies!
Hello! How are you guys soing? My name is Robyn, I'm 29 and a SAHM to 4 kids.....Megan 9, Elijah 7, Andrew 5, and Joshua is 2. Joshua our youngest has very mild Cerebral palsy. He just started walking a few days after his 2nd birthday!! I'm married to Chad since August 12, 2000....so this year will be 9 years....holy cow :)
Anyway, I'm here b/c I'm sick of looking at myself in the mirror and not liking what I see. And I want to get back into "healthy" BMI....I need to get down to 122 to be in the top end. My hubby and I are supposed to be doing this together, but I feel like I'm doing it all alone. Hubby weighs 285 and is 6 feet tall. He says he has no time, which is true with work and commuting to work (80 mins a day total on good roads). When he gets home he just wants to play with his kids and veg.
I'm already frustrated. I'm exercising 6 days a week for at least a hour each day. I do at least 30-40 minutes on my treadmill and I also do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (for almost 2 weeks now). I plan on buying her new DVD's to add to my workout. I've noticed a small change in my body since starting the DVD. I haven't lost any weight in weeks. So, maybe I'm gaining muscle? I hope so!!! I want that toned muscular look, I think it's sexy. I can handle not losing weight if I'm gaining muscle but my clothes are fitting no different so I'm not losing inches yet. And maybe I need to eat less. I hate the eating part. I LOVE to eat. I was eating 1400 a day....but moved down to 1300 this week and wonder if b/c I'm so short I should be eating 1200. Which is literally nothing I think!!!
How are you guys losing the weight? Do you have support b/c I hate telling people I'm trying to lose weight (esp my family) they are so unsupportive. They are like "why you look fine the way you are?" I know I'm not obese but I do need to lose 10 lbs. For me. My clothes will fit better, I will be more confident. I hope I'll be happier. I notice when things get frustrating or I get bored I want to eat. So now I grab grapes or string cheese. but then it stinks when it's gone b/c I want to keep grazing....uggh! So hard to stop these bad habits!!!
Sorry so long. I'm so interested to find out how you ladies are doing it!
Hello! nbgirl this is what I might have; Breakfast an English muffin with PB2 or low or no sugar jelly, mounded with a cup of sprouts with a little sweetener on topwith a large cup of coffee black with sweet'n low. (Less then 200) Or I might scrambled egg beaters with a slice of ham and a slice of fat fee cheese with a piece or 2 of low cal toast. (Still less then 200) If I'm real hungery I just double the egg and add mushrooms peppers and onions. It will still be under 300 cals
lunch I might have a boca burger with a bun and lots of veggies. Or a spicy grilled chicken sandwich. (I buy boneless skinless chicken and weight out 4 once servings, pound them flat and freeze them in baggies then I can thaw in microwave and pop then on my George Foreman with hot sauce add cheese veggies and a little light ranch and wala zesty chicken ranch sandwiches) Less then 300 cals
Dinner Whatever I just make sure to stay with healthy portions and I watch the fat. Although I do like to have a cup of soup like a veggie cabbage or a broth first so I don't go overboard.
Snacks, Fruit or chips (I weigh them) and salsa or soup with sharitaki noodles depending on how hungry I might be.
Robin it can really be a pain to be short. My sister is 5 foot and every pound is a fight. Your calorie intake is smaller to maintain, she fills up on lots of veggies and trys to eat them first before she eats her proteins and grains. You are no longer alone you now have a group to help support you! Congratulation to Joshua on walking!
Yep, I'm 4'11 and so jealous of taller people. When people complain about being 5 foot something I get like grr! at least you're 5 feet tall LOL!!!
thanks for the welcome leanne! I'm off to do my 30 day shred DVD and get on the treadmill.... :)
Hi, just popping in to say thanks for the suggestions on how to binge better leanne....I will try that next time I feel like I just want to eat.
Welcome to tinymomma....It does sound like you would be gaining muscle with all you're doing...and it seems like you might want to see if you really are eating enough with all you burn.
I am having success so far by walking at a 3-6 incline at 3.5-6 MPH (I vary it throughout the workout, and normally burn 200-250 calories in 30-35 minutes. I am calorie cycling with the help of a wab site that gave me the ammounts to eat...and I vary between 1400-2000 calories a day. (the site is http://www.bestdiettips.com/component/option,com_php/Itemid,78/)
A typical day for me is
BF 3 egg whites, spinach, laughing cow cheese in a pita
Lunch Pita with chicken or tuna, veggies, and light ranch dressing with ff pringles
Snacks Apple, banana, or yogurt
Dinner Chicken, rice or potatoe, lots of veggies
And I try to have 12-24 raw almonds
I really vary what I eat a-lot though...I tend to get bored easily :)
Is it too late to join?
I'm a stay at home mom, 31 years old. Just had my son about 9 1/2 months ago. Its finally time for me to get on the bandwagon and start moving. I need some motivation, and using a team mentality will do it for me.

Hi Ginanne17! My name is Audrey and of course you are welcome here. I had my little boy on April 17, 2008. Our little guys are about the same age. I understand the need for motivation also. I am still struggling to lose my baby fat but I am also TTC #2. The doctors are starting to think that I might have PCOS so both losing weight and TTC are a little difficult. It took me almost 1 full year to get pregant with Benjamin. And its already been 7 months this time trying for #2. Good luck on your weight loss.
Hi everyone! My name is Chasta. I'm married (12 years) with 6 kiddos (11yo boy, 9yo boy, 7yo girl, 5yo girl, 2 1/2yo boy, 8mo girl). And btw, we homeschool. Stephanie76, we are CC twins!
I started on CC on July 16, 2008. At that time I weighed 242.6 lbs.(I had a baby May 28th, so perhaps some of the weight was from the pregnancy). I started on CC to lose weight for my sister's wedding (Sept. 13th, 2008). On the day of the wedding, I was down to 224, an 18lb. loss. But then I fell off the CC wagon for the rest of Sept., Oct., and Nov.! As of Nov. 30th, 2008, I was back up to 232lbs. So here I am again, and I NEED to stay FOCUSED! Thanks to all for being open about your struggles and for your support.
